And those FBI agents were without pay. I guess at least they got to take the camera with them so they and we could have a moment to treasure...

Stone is an odious man and has been for many years. He's everything wrong with the Republican Party of the last 4 decades.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of those agents sold a tip to CNN. Trump doesn't think anything through so he doesn't seem to realize that he's turned this into a blood feud between him and law enforcement. They will come after him and his associates even harder now if they can.

The Michael Bennet speech @Roman posted at the top of the page is worth a watch, as Bennet, in his stumbling way, says what we all know (just how much this country is being left behind). It's the closest I've seen to Frank Capra type politics that I've seen in a very long time. The media will ignore this but I hope the Democratic Party will use the video to help get their message out. Being cute and adorable and "clapping back" is not enough - plain, honest speaking has to be included.

Speaking of the media, I see that their new "cool conservative" Dan Crenshaw is pushing the line about how everyone is out to get Christians and poor Covington, poor Karen Pence, blah blah blah. Yet the media will continue to parade him as their forever friend and try to push his views of hate and bigotry as the ideal. I wonder if Lorne Michaels has any shame for making him a big part of SNL this season and helping to make him a popular public figure. Lorne Michaels has carried so much water for so many hatemongers that I guess any sense of shame left a long time ago, replaced by big fat checks.

Meanwhile, Mama Khan, along with everyone else who listens to all the kooks on YT, says they finally have enough evidence that Hillary is a pedophile and that the authorities are going to arrest her "any day now."

If you really want proof that SNL isn't as good as it used to be, look no further than Dan Crenshaw and Donald Trump's appearances on the show.  No way in hell would the original "Not Ready" crew have given them airtime, much less made them look all cute and cuddly.

Was it you who said that this would be the breaking point for the shutdown, DD?  If so, I think you may be right.

I must say I, too, love how this looks like an episode of "C.S.I." or "Criminal Minds," with FBI agents (in flap jackets, no less) storming his residence in the dead of night like they are about to do a raid on a drug cartel.

It sounds like something I would say, lol.  IRL conversations I've had over the past week or so, I have mentioned that perhaps a strike/sick-out was the only way to force the issue.

Seeing people in Depression-Era food lines apparently, wasn't enough to generate action so perhaps tangling up a business-class travelers connection to Silicon Valley or Davos might be the answer to ending this ridiculous shutdown.

More propaganda from Netflix - they bought the film of JD Vance's life that Ron Howard is directing. JD Vance, if you are lucky enough to not know, is the guy the press made into their umpteenth special little conservative angel a few years ago, because growing up rural and poor, he understands how important it is to hate the right people, unlike those big city liberals (oh and people who are rural and poor are lazy and worthless...aside from him, of course, as he is now one of the rich and famous). I last saw him shilling for Justice I Love Beer and the Tiger Mom. Considering the messages of a number of Netflix shows, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the higher ups there are also fans.

    • Actually that is not what happened. Nor is the timing right for it to have been. We learned from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay  in 2006, which can be found on YT, that it was Fred Silverman's idea to do the 90 minute show. I don't know how much you know about him but he had these amazing successes as head of daytime at both ABC & at CBS. Then he came to NBC where basically everything he touched turned NOT TO GOLD but to shite. Some of the most expensive shows ever produced up to that time were huge flops. Although even he, like a broken clock, could be right on occasion. However, as we know, he was not right about the 90 minute show. As a matter of fact, afterward,  NBC programmers, who worked FOR him, were asked why they did it & they were quoted as saying it was because they couldn't think of anything else to try. It was a stupid idea from a man who had reached the point where he was throwing anything at the wall to see if it would stick.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.

    • And, to me it is a little bit hilarious that AW fans all over continue to refer to it as Egyptian Dust Recently elsewhere I've been running polls. When did you stop watching AW or What storyline caused you to stop watching AW. You may be interested to know that sticking it out till the bitter end is winning by a landslide. Next highest vote getter is - no surprise - Frankie's murder. So that covers like 60% & next 20%. Then the votes drop way down to 10% and well below but a wide array of reasons are given, including but not limited to  Justine Lumina Rachel having twins at her age, how ridiculous Mac's death the 90 minute show firing JC, George R & Dwyer Hmm, I know there are a few more, in the 1%-3% range but I cannot think of what they are. Sorry, my bad. Should have made notes but I didn't know I would be posting about it. LOL!!
