Trump has truly brought us back to the 1980's.

It always comes down to two things: sex, and money; and either together or separately, both have toppled great (and not-so-great) leaders since the beginning.

Yep.

Jazmine Headley had been waiting for vouchers for childcare for four hours, without a chair, so she sat on the floor.  Could no one have found a folding chair??

It is a lack of common sense and lack of humanity in regards to how she and her child were mistreated.

Were it not for the bystander who took video of the whole thing, I doubt any of us would know where this woman would've ended up.  Or her child, for that matter.

Much like Margaret Thatcher, who I believe was the last PM to face a No Confidence Vote by her own party, Theresa May wins this one.  I wonder what the repercussions will be for the Tories.  Perhaps an even weaker party?

The threshold was much tougher for Thatcher than for May, as they changed the rules after Thatcher's time as PM.

Apparently May implied that she would not run for another term as PM, so that may have made some in her party who are sick of her decide to support her. Given how craven she is I wonder if she will keep her word.

The media is in the tank for the Tories and have repeatedly tried to spin her never-ending can-kicking and dithering as signs of being a strong woman.

May is awful and inept but with a vulture party like the Tories, she's far from the worst.  Besides, the fact that no one seems to have a clue as to how to proceed with Brexit, it likely, it was the threat of ending up with Boris Johnson or Michael Gove that helped to steer votes to keep May in her position.  There are several other Tories who no one wants near the office of PM, who'd beat her by a country mile in a contest for the politician who garners the most contempt of the British people.

I think Johnson is pretty much done. Gove is more of a question - he's glomming onto May now which might help him.

There are people objectively worse than May, but I think she has enabled them to get them this far, so it's a very warped chicken and egg syndrome.

For the past five years, I've been hoping that Johnson would go away but somehow he continues to pop up, so I'll be a doubting Thomas until I'm sure to see the back of him.

Gove is beneath contempt.  I doubt his sycophantic gestures are fooling anyone. Despite all the posturing and jockeying within the Tory party, no one wants the job of trying to piece together the mess that is Brexit.

I'm more intrigued to see how Scotland and Northern Ireland's next moves are.

    • Is the set for Lulu's new house an updated version of the set used for the childhood home of Luke, Bobbie and Pat Spencer?
    • I feel like AMC would be the easiest of their soaps to revive but a reboot seems cursed at this point. I wish we had more insight on what was pitched for the primetime reboot as well as these movies. That would give us a better idea of why it keeps getting shot down.
    • Mansion of the Damned sure is a "talkative" horror movie.  In the past when I've watched those episodes, I was paying attention to The Edge of Night characters and not really zeroing in on the rehearsals/blocking/filming of the actual movie.  This time I've been following the plot of Mansion of the Damned pretty closely, and all I can say is Hester Atherton and Nicholas Harriman are about the most chit-chatty Witch and Devil I've ever heard in my life!
    • Ashley and Derek have been so isolated that I need the show to develop something, anything to justify their presence. It's not that I think Joey being her father will be the greatest story ever told but at least it would be something and connect her to more characters. I just need the show to move forward with them. Out of all the characters, these are the only two with no storyline/development. We have recurring characters who are better used with less screentime. If the show is going to keep them on contract they need to do something with them.
    • I never thought I'd say it, but SC is B&B's best male actor - by far. SK is next. Has there ever been a US soap that has so much female talent surrounding by Himbos? KKL, JMW, HT, KB, AN, RB could be/have been leading ladies on any other soap. Even the secondary females are the ones who carry their scenes. It's been rare periods when B&B actually had a few solid male cast members. JMW really did a great job in the scenes with AN. Considering everything we've witnessed the past couple of years with Steffy/Hope, I thought reveal may ring hollow. JMW proved me wrong. No doubt this is Emmy material.
    • You won't even accept a minute cameo from Ms Marcil herself so she can collect her cheque?
    • Which has also slowed down from 100 pages a day, but I digress.

Yeah. When even I am getting annoyed with it (and still need to catch up on DAYS new team...two weeks behind now grrr) enough to take a break...and B&B holds my interest more for a show where nothing is going on...it's a BAD sign.   Seriously thinking about that break until

Then we go from there. I just can't believe JG just went and lost all the momentum that was built up over the last month. And during May Sweeps, too? No, ma'am.
    • Works for me!!! Just the back of some brunettes head and a hug lol on the Island And also, I like how it's brand new info Mo was good at his job in the 90's.  That's pretty much the entire reason he's still on the show.
    • I recently edited an older episode to do a Denise Alexander edit but Mo was in scenes & I had forgotten that back then he was actually good at his job.  The contrast with today is well alarming.
