I have lady friends who have registered to vote for the first time, or are voting for the first time in years. The irony.....that women who he treats like utter trash is going to show him and the world who REALLY has the voting power in this country.

Amen. I really believe this is the year of the woman when it comes to voting. The early voting numbers are encouraging. I think Michelle Obama's speech along with HRC taking a strong position on pro choice at the debate really resonated with women. People want to diminish our voices. Let them try to silence the silent majority at the voting booth.

Is it true that during today's speech Trump claimed that he intends to get reimbursement from Mexico after U.S. taxpayers pay for his Wall?!  Who's stupid enough to believe that?! The Mexican President already said he's not paying for that stupid wall.  Ask Trump's unpaid vendors about how good a promise to get paid back is worth.

Early voting starts tomorrow in Illinois and I plan on voting tomorrow. Despite the multitude of problems Illinois has, voting is not one. I am proud to say we have one of the most progressive voting registration and voting process in the country. Starting during primary season, we actually have same day registration, meaning you can register and vote on the same day including election day. My neighbor is an election judge and was in charge of registrations at her polling site in the primary and said that they had about 200 people who registered on election day. And it was bumpy as expected considering it is Illinois and it was the initial rollout. Hopefully it goes much smoother once general election voting starts, but there has also been a huge voter registration effort in Cook County and the Rockford and Springfield areas. Also oddly Bloomington-Normal in the center of the state(which is normally GOP) except this pocket is a college town and with State Farm's corporate HQ there, a lot of young urban professionals.

When I see the lines in places like North Carolina it makes me almost cry but I can't be prouder of people willing to give up so much of their time to ensure that their vote matters.

Early voting actually started on Sept 29th but there were a limited number of sites open. Tomorrow starts widespread early voting. Normally 9 to 12 and 1 to 4 on weekdays and I believe 9 to 1 on Saturdays. Early voting is supposed to go until Nov 7th.

Just to note as I was browsing it seems some locations have different hours and dates. But I think it you use this search engine you will find multiple sites close to you and then you can decide which works best for your timetable. Some are open for a week where others are open until Nov 7th with longer hours also

Here is the site where you can locate an early voting location close to you.

Hope this helps

Thanks. I'm not a big Cubs fan but as a resident of Chicago you can't help but get caught up in the excitement. And it's a grateful distraction from the election crap.

    • Nothing makes sense on this show. I wish there was a garbage can emoji. That sums up 90% of the show right now.

Jane Wyman return episode was head-to-head w/ Cheers season 8 finale. Falcon Crest broadcast syndication began Fall 1986, which overlapped w/ Oprah going national. AFAIK cable broadcasts were Lifetime and Soapnet. I have no memory of cable broadcasts on TBS, TNT, TNN, E!, FX.
    • After today’s rushed and abrupt exit for Summer I immediately realized that Josh & Co. were very blindsided by AL’s decision to leave.  Not the first time this has happened to JG either; see MM & HK’s exits in 2021, MM’s exit in 2022, and of course TSJ’s exit last year. Obviously JG and our executive in charge of nothing Steve Kent don’t have a good handle on casting disruptions. And Mariah having an offscreen affair is [!@#$%^&*] ridiculous!! Meanwhile Tessa’s blonde hair is overkill with the number of blondes on the show already. I said the same thing 3 years ago…of course it was utterly ridiculous everyone was mad at Sally for getting Summer he dream job (don’t ask lol) but there was so much the show could have done without bringing on the Marchetti angle.
    • Does the ball on GL where Philip revealed that he had forced Alan out of Spaulding count or was that not Philip's idea?  There was a ball on AMC where Adam revealed that he had bankrupted Palmer, I think (or was it the other way around?), but I can't remember who threw that.
    • Thanks for honoring Ruth Buzzi. She was a treasure. I'm glad DAYS let her have some fun. I remember Imogene Coca complaining about ATWT just giving her a drab guest part.
    • It's such a delicious set of circumstances that I'm actually a little surprised that I can't think of ones that exactly match. I've just got a couple of close but no cigars (the reveal wasn't public, like when Alexis told Dominique at her and Garrett's engagement party that Garrett lied about being married; or the revealer didn't come up with the idea of the party). Maybe I need to think some more about it.
    • Not too shabby, making her mark in only six episodes. There's a project for the soap historians -- characters with the least episodes/most impact.
    • Which could make sense , except that we have seen Mariah function for years w/o any real residue pain from her upbringing. Josh decides to randomly make it a thing, when a good writer might foreshadow that for months. It's not like he's just arrived at the show. He's been there for years . Everything seems to be thought out only a few weeks ahead. It's like Phyllis all freaky from being kidnapped when she has done a million other things that didn't seem to bother her at all.
    • Unrelated, sort of, but he looks absolutely nothing like Amanda Setton or Dominic Zamprogna so it's kind of hilarious they decided to make Gio their kid.  It's very clear this was not the original origin story for Gio when they cast him. He is a very handsome guy though.
