It was never called The Revival when it first aired. That must be a streaming thing.

Yes, that's got to be a streaming thing.  I enjoyed the 1990 NBC Dark Shadows, but I felt it was not scary enough. It  focused too much on romance, and too little on gothic horror.  Still, it was pretty damned good.

I felt like they tried to double down on that toward the end, which just ended up turning me off. I check out of any show that kills off random characters just for the sake of doing so (it also annoyed me when the original show did this too much).

There is a Youtube channel that is reacting to the original Dark Shadows series.. and he's close to getting to the 100th episode.

Today he was reacting to episode #97 where focus and attention was on the portrait that looks like Victoria Winters... and Liz/Roger trying to gaslight Vicki into abandoning her assertion that the woman in the picture resembles her.... but Carolyn remarks that the picture looks just like Vicki.. end of episode.

The reactor was saying he couldn't wait to see when Vicki's parentage would be revealed and how she tied into the Collins family.   I didn't comment that after that episode, her quest to find her identity was abandoned and never really explored in great detail again.

While I know it was due to Moltke quitting, but I kind of like that Vicki never found out her past.. it added to the tragic element of the character and show.  No happy ending for Vicki unlike Jane Erye.

@slick jones I didn't see this listed in Joan Bennett's IMDB page, although I may be wrong. Thought it might be new to you as well.

Thank you to @jam6242 for pointing this out in another thread. It's a new web soap starring Kathryn Leigh Scott, David Selby, Susan Sullivan, and, for non-DS but soap involvement, Granville Van Dusen.

There are about six episodes up.

@DRW50 that's cute. Those production values are where Y&R is heading!

On topic, I watched the Tim Burton Dark Shadows movie to get in the Halloween mood and it was just terrible!

John Lasell Dead: 'Dark Shadows,' 'The Twilight Zone' Actor Was 95

Guthrie was not a "vampire hunter," but that tells you how many only remember the show for Barnabas.

Lasell did a good job as Peter Guthrie, a very no-nonsense character in a tight and engrossing supernatural arc. Laura's story serves as the perfect bridge between Bill Malloy's murder and Barnabas, and was what kept the show on the air.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Guthrie had lived. He likely would have been killed by Barnabas, but I'd like to believe he would have stuck it out.
