Please keep posting those episode recaps your source is providing! If I can't see the episodes first hand, I'd love to read the daily recaps. Also, thanks to a screencap tweeted to me by the RetroTV twitter, the first episode aired was #1305 with an original broadcast date of December 4, 1967. Interestingly, this episode was taped on November 10, 1967, which seems to me to be a a relatively long lead time between tape & air (the script I have in my collection from February 1968 gives the lead as only a few days!). The RetroTV twitter said they *thought* this was the very first color episode, so that might explain the month-long production lead.

In any event, the episodes aired thus far are...

12:00pm (9/29/14) - #1305 (Original Air: December 4, 1967)

12:30pm (9/29/14) - #1306 (Original Air: December 5, 1967)

12:00pm (9/30/14) - #1307 (Original Air: December 6, 1967)

12:30pm (9/30/14) - #1308 (Original Air: December 7, 1967)

And don't think my OCD behind isn't copying those recaps, cast list, and episode numbers/dates to keep. lol

What a frustrating joke on everyone. So RetroTV airs The Doctors, only nobody lives where Retro TV airs! I tried searching and apparently it is some dying network slowly losing all affiliates but it is in Los Angeles. I saw no torrents for this show at PirateBay, so I guess soap watchers are not as quick as sci fi junkies. Maybe some sort of live streaming site can be found tomorrow if not for retro TV then for the local station itself.

quartermainfan, it looks like that uploader is going to try again tomorrow (they had said they were giving up but those messages are now deleted). Hopefully more material will come. It's frustrating because even if that stream works, they only seem to run one episode a day, not two, which means we may not get all of them. I guess one would be better than nothing.

I'm so confused about when they went to color as I've heard some say 1966 or earlier in 1967.

This is the stream that the uploader was using. They quit earlier today because it went to black and they felt like they weren't able to do the job justice and wanted someone else to take over. They seem to have changed their mind, perhaps because no one else is doing it.

If you want to try this stream around the time that the episodes are airing in your time zone, maybe it will work for you. I'm going to try tomorrow and hope it doesn't go to black again.

I also hope people will call their cable provider and say you want Retro TV. It likely won't make an impact, but it's a start. Writing letters, as SFK mentioned, but a phone call would be OK too.

I wonder whether The Doctors was using short arc storylines featuring guest performers eg the characters of Bill and Ruth Winters for 13 week stories. Was Bill for example, introduced as a doctor who was assumed to always be on staff and this story with the alcoholic wife and adoption played out over this period.

I say that because a lot of these characters are never mentioned in longterm synopses and Variety reported that Lynne Rogers had signed for a 13 week role as Kitty Harris, so maybe this role was one of those short arc stories.

allmc I'm not sure what Central time would be but they air episodes at 12 and 12:30 EST. But as mentioned above, the stream only shows one.

Hopefully that person will be able to give me synopses and maybe someone at some point will upload what we're missing.

Hell, I shouldn't even get that far ahead - I hope the stream works today.

    • If you ever make it to the Paley Center in NYC (fka Museum of TV and Radio), in their viewing room, you can watch Days 1/1/73 featuring Denise Alexander as Susan. It’s her last month on the show before switching to GH.
    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.

You've inspired me to add my 2 cents about this product placement debacle.  I absolutely HATE the way they are doing product placement in BTG. I really hope this doesn't catch on or evolve into more and more of these moments. It's incredibly off-putting to place them in a highly dramatic moment where we are still on the emotional journey with the character. What is next - Dani spraying the house while having a nervous breakdown? It makes me not want to buy the product they're selling. LOL. That's just me.
    • I always get the vibe that Martin/Smitty have an emotional abusive relationship set up... but I doubt the show will really go there with that element given that Martin is a Dupree (and we can't have the Duprees be portrayed in a negative light), and because it's a gay male relationship.   Even though abuse in the physical or emotional sense is a huge thing in a lot of gay and lesbian relationships. The Ashley/Naomi scene reads off to me for one reason....  Ashley was talking about the new scandal without any sort of mention and/or subtext.. considering she knew both Silk Press Sheila and Eva.  I'm not sure if the writers have forgotten, if Jen Jacobs isn't able to play subtext, or what.   It's just apparent the writers do not know how to write a young white millennial couple.. and perhaps they need to get a younger white script writer to be on staff... or let the actors play around with the lines to make them more natural/realistic.
