I haven't seen today's episode yet, but I have to agree with the Billy love. He's sort of a lovable loser. Everything goes wrong for him, but he keeps on trying anyway, yet he isn't dramatic about all of the stuff he deals with. A good solid character.

Max and Carol were TENSE in yesterday's episode. Carol's just devastating...so lost, so sad, so upset. I could have done without Bianca's big meltdown with Kim. It was pretty random when she just started crying because of what Liam of all people said. That could have been a little more subtle...Bianca simply hanging her head in shame and walking away would have been better, IMO. Kim's still my girl, though!

There was this horrific ass down syndrome story from 2006, that even the then Series Producer of Corrie, (now EP of Emmerdale) Steven Frost, publicly came out and called "sh!t." His ex-wife Honey rejected Janet at first and wanted her put up for adoption, but Billy was reluctant.

Billy has two kids with his ex-wife Honey, Janet (the one with downs) and William, who was born a year or so after Janet. Now he has this long lost older son with Julie.

I believe Little Mo's son though rape, Freddie, also sports the Michelle last name. When Little Mo first decided to keep her rape baby, Billy was supportive and was still her husband, but eventually he couldn't deal with it, and they eventually separated and divorced.

Honey was one of those characters who didn't know what words meant. She was mostly a dippy character. I didn't think she was that bad in small doses. The big problem was when she left so did most of Billy's story. It's a real testament to Perry's talent that Bryan Kirkwood didn't axe him this year, because a lot of fans wrote Billy off a long time ago, thanks to his awful, repetitive stories.

The last time Billy's kids were seen was in March or April, when Honey and her father (who had dated Peggy but broke up because she could not deal with a Down's child) were in a car crash. Her father was killed. This all happened offcamera and ended in about three episodes. Sometimes EE has the most strange pacing around.

Billy and Little Mo's relationship will always be my favourite pairing of his. They both had a bad self-esteem, yet made one another feel so worthy, and he really helped her recover from the abuse she received from Trevor, and she helped him feel wanted for the first time in his life. Too bad they really f.ucked them up.

Billy was also once Jamie Mitchell's guardian, who he abused, hence that child abuse side coming out again recently on Jay. Billy lives in regret over what he did to Jamie.

Jamie died on the day Billy and Little Mo got married - Christmas 2002. Billy was hesitant to carry on with the wedding after he heard the condition Jamie was in, but he eventually got to make some peace with Jamie. In one of the RARE moments I felt sorry for Sonia, it was touching when Jamie died in her arms on the hospital bed, as Little Mo and Billy got married.

I was watching the two episodes from 2002 again only a few days ago, might as well post it here:

Oh yeah I remember that -- some very creaky singing...to say the least. Although I'm glad for the lack of Autotune. The staging in that is what makes it fun, especially the last number. I notice that the worst singers in that were all written out...

I think that This Morning interview is one of the most unprofessional I've ever seen. It was insulting to Kirkwood to say he's going to bring Hollyoaks to Eastenders, when Kirkwood has worked on other shows, and when his decisions have not exactly shown he's making this into Hollyoaks. To ask if they are "threatened" by Corrie. The SHAMELESS decision to bring up Jack Duckworth leaving Corrie, solely to bash Eastenders as being depressing. First of all, what does that have to do with the interview? Second, have they seen Corrie in recent years? Third, if you're going to talk about depressing, Jack Duckworth has basically sat around for 2 to 3 years mourning the past and now he has a terminal illness!

I wish Kirkwood had defended the show a bit more, as it does have comedy, instead of just saying they're working on that and its Eastenders style to be depressing, but oh well.

I thought last night's episode was pretty decent...at first I wasn't sure if they were saying that the Jacksons didn't like Kim's food because it was Caribbean or if they were saying Kim can't cook.

I know some will just feel Carol is being a bitch, but the scene where she went to see Conor was so full of pain and it was so obvious she has to blame everyone else for her son's death. You can see how this is eating her up. Those scenes where she was calmly poring through every part of Billie's profiles. I thought the guy who played Conor did a good job, although when he got emotional he reminded me of Mickey from Doctor Who.

The stuff with Whitney and Peter seems rushed, although I guess there might be more ahead, as it's hard to believe Whitney would be over Billie this quickly. If they want to move away from stories about Whitney's love life, that's fine with me, as I don't think Shona is great in those types of stories. It might also give Peter something interesting to do, and I'm sure Whitney and Lucy will have some conflict.

I like Julie. She knows and accepts who Billy is but still cares for him. The conversation they had was very well put together -- recapping tons of stuff without seeming like they were. Seeing Phil and Jay make fun of him wasn't fun but then that's true to their characters. The Sun has a spoiler on this story, couched in their bizarre idea that she looks like Little Mo (I don't see that at all).

Some people on DS said that Derek Martin, Charlie Slater, has been doing some interviews. He said he's going in February 2011, as already mentioned here, and also that

And yeah, agreed that Dante having animosity towards Gio is very forced and contrived. And it also has me concerned that it means the reveal won't be happening anytime soon.
    • God, I love that woman. Another amazing interview!!
    • We can only guestimate based on other characters. Chelsea was said to be 23 in the first episodee and based on Marttin wanting to run for President in the next election, he's about 30/31. Eva and and Kat are somewhere between that  so Id say closer to 25 or 26
    • no argument here! and as she was singing, i kept wondering how many verses ‘amazing grace’ had. looked it up: 13 — 13! — and i think she must have sung  every one.
    • Yasss, ANITA!!! GET HER!!!   Awww at Smitty calming Martin down.   'Oh, you're the one leaving.' That face like stone. Go 'head, Nicole.    Eva vs Kat...the gift that keeps giving.
    • I have to admit I still have a nagging complaint about timelines - Why aren't we allowed to know how long Ted and Nicole have been married or how old Kat and Eva are? Or for that matter, when Anita last released an album? BTG is a new show with no SORAS or timewarping. MVJ and Guza are working from a fresh bible. There is no need to be so coy about ages and anniversaries, especially when most of the storylines are driven by past events.
    • It was an extremely rare interview even then - I was shocked when I read it (as mentioned I'd forgotten just how far in she went). You could see how hurt and annoyed she was. I'm surprised he thought she came up with the baby story herself. She and Charles Keating did a good job with the material but it was absolute hokum. Even if they loved Carl and Rachel (and clearly they did), I don't see them coming up with stuff that, frankly, read like Geocities fan fic. Malone was clearly hobbled by NBC and P&G, but re-using so many of his old stories and his soap bible instead of actually coming up with material suited to the characters or show did not help. It was also fascinating reading her comments about Rachel being in her, fighting back against the writing, and how she had to try to mediate. Reminds me of Marie Masters talking about how hard it was to say goodbye to Susan when she'd been with her for 40 years. That subject is always compelling, that duality. And it reminds me of Eddie Drueding's comments a year or two earlier about Rachel losing her drive. Clearly Victoria saw her the same way.
    • Seeing this trash get good ratings says nothing good about daytime audiences. It's embarrassing.
    • Cat does feel committed to being a goofball (the other term has been reconsidered in recent years).  I wonder, given her brother Aaron, if Cat was less attractive prior to the surgery?  Remember the 1973 movie The Girl Most Likely to?  My fanfic for the moment is Cat commenting on how people treat her differently now that she is gorgeous.  One assumes that pre-surgery, Cat never had two men fighting over her for a date.  So, it might be fun to see that side of the story.
    • It's probably one of the only conflicts the story will have, aside from Dante being upset with Lulu when the truth comes out. They really needed someone else who actually knows Gio is Dante and Brook Lyn's son and kept quiet.
