Can anyone here speak about Trina Fraser's time at Corrie as producer and the time at which she was head of production for Hollyoaks?

Also, can anyone do the same for Claire Fryer when she was the story editor for EastEnders and The Bill? Did she work with Marquess at The Bill?

2001-2004 was a big time of change from change at Coronation Street, a way of telling new stories but not going too far from the established traditions. I think 2002 was when Carolyn Reynolds and Tony Wood took over. 2000-2001 had seen quite a bit of upheaval, as there were some "gritty" and not all that well told stories on subjects like rape and cervical cancer which offended some viewers, and even some of the actors. The show had become increasingly dark. 1999-2000 had an extremely harrowing storyline where many of the twentysomething characters were blackmailed and terrorized by a drug dealer who had already murdered one or two characters, and he was only stopped when one of their fathers beat him to death. This was also the time that Sarah Louise Platt had a baby at age 13 or 14.

2002-2004 was a big era for the show. Richard Hillman psychokiller saga, Todd Grimshaw coming out, Mad Maya's reign of terror against Dev and Sunita, the blood feud between Karen Macdonald and Tracy Barlow, Peter Barlow as bigamist.

Toups has some January 2008 credits listing Trina so she must have joined the show not all that long ago. She may have joined with Carolyn and Tony. I think they also left Corrie around 2004.

It could be April or May, depends on what they mean by "the middle" of the year, but since June is half way though the year, I consider it the middle.

You never know when to expect a new regime's work in the credits with the UK soaps. They're usually so far ahead, but as we get closer, I'm sure more definite dates will leak to the press.

Allan took over from Kirkwood in January 2009, and her episodes began airing in June 2009.

So, I guess June is the correct time for Marquess's work to begin, since he too started in January (2010).

Yeah, this would be relatively fast by UK standards. Eastenders and Corrie have been having a handover for months and even then the new work will not show up until autumn. I also think the flash forward episode is the cause of this. Even then I think we will see changes.

Does anyone have a link to a clip that has a specific OB/Clare scene. The scene has her patting herself on the back and admitting she could have saved Mel when she was burned The Doug explosion. Such classic lines include, "And if it wasn't for moi, poor old Mel wouldn't have burned in that fire and you'd still be holding hands at her AA meetings. Tragically the other one had to die too. Two for the price of one."

But the part of the scene I need the most is of when she mentions how no one believed Mel when she finally told the truth and then relays that there must be a message in there somewhere, "Liar liar the LUSH is one fire."

God, I love Clare, and I guess we can thank Lucy Allan for that crappy and anticlimactic ending to her last return.

    • Wow, do I agree with you. Chelsea is coming off as ridiculous. All she does is look for a woman to date while not caring about her business at all. That she's bi is great, but they're not writing her like she's bi. She seems to be lesbian. Yeah, I know -- "no labels." I just don't find the writing for her story to be anything other than awkward.   -- I hope we get some diagnosis finality with Bill's trip to the hospital. I don't want to see these trips to the ER every other day. -- Naomi is going to blame herself for Bill's health problems? GMAB. -- Ashley doesn't read as a real nurse in the slightest. -- Another day, another rinse and repeat conversation with Derek and Ashley. YAWN. -- Kat is making mistakes, but she's fun to watch and listen to, regardless. -- I still think the Joey/Vanessa/Doug gambling story sucks. I know Doug is deeply in debt, but I don't like him acting this meek and submissive.  -- I'm not sure what Joey's plan was from the beginning, or why he had to seduce Vanessa at all to get his way. I'm not sure what Vanessa ever saw in Joey -- why doesn't he give her the ick? -- I'm fine with a story where Doug and Vanessa take out Joey.  -- The fades to commercials were pretty bad today.
    •   Victoria's house (that she long ago lived in with Billy) burned down (I think Aunt Jordan set ablaze?). Mariah and Tessa and baby Aria had been living in the tack house but they bought a house we've never seen and moved there. Victoria, Claire, and Cole now live in the tack house.
    • Victoria’s previous house burned down.    And I know why characters frequent Crimson Lights 3 times a day for brownies, muffins and empty mugs:   THERE’S PCP IN EVERYTHING.
    • Today was a good episode, and the week for that matter. I think they've also done a better job with background music. The scenes in todays episode weren't as silent as they usually are in the background and it was noticeable. I think the show has found its groove well and I'm still invested.
    • Garneau was in the Liberal party and his riding was in Montreal. He was the first Canadian in outer space.
    • I agree. I really have enjoyed this story from the beginning. I feel like it needed the time for us to care about Doug. They've done a nice job of explaining his motives and making me care for him. I still feel like he's doomed and Vanessa will end up being a widow and now I'm invested in that *not* happening now that I've fallen for him. Friday was good but so was the entire week. I think they're doing such a nice job of keeping things moving. We got good movement with Bill's story this week, Chelsea is attempting to date, Andre and Dani are having tough conversations about their relationship, of course Anita reunited with Sharon. There is *so* much going on and I didn't even cover all of it.  I wish all of the soaps would take a page out of BTG book and start rotating their stories. I love that everybody is getting a chance to shine and they don't just sit on one lead story to the point you get sick of it.
    • Did Jordan Clarke have a departure sometime between 1985 and 1989? I know Robert Newman had three runs: 1981-1984, 1986-1991, 1993-end.
    • Well, they usually weren't on the show at the time for long until the late 90's. But yeah, they really deserved a story centered on them, and not through the lens of Reva.
    • Chelsea was doing the absolute most today! Why was she introducing her sister to a woman she doesnt know? That whole scene was embarrassing. Madison needs to stay away from her bc she is too immature
    • Gosh, what a waste with Lunacy. Why have her live with $B, reveal Finn, pardon her, etc What makes this story incredibly hollow is that what Luna is asking isn't unreasonable - to spend time with her cousin father. She's not asking to move in with them. How hard with it be for Finn to throw her a bone by, say, I'll meet you for lunch/coffee once at week at the hospital cafeteria. Lunacy isn't going to hurt Finn. In fact, all her crimes were related to finding her father and it turns out to be someone she's loved her entire life. Instead of course-correcting the nonsense of last summer, Brad somehow found a way to make this worse! That's a skill... Of all the younger actors B&B has cast during the past 5 years, LY has shown the most growth and range. Why get rid of her?
