Why Navid? They've barely spoken two sentences to each other. Speaking of Navid, I see he's already been David Silver-ized. You know, only appears in a couple of episodes cause the writers have no idea what to do with him.

I THINK what they are doing is backburning Navid untill they establish Dixon & Silver as a couple then triangle it up.

Or hes gay. One or the other...

But Annie & Navid? I just dont see it.

The CW's '90210' has been the first new series of new fall season to be given a full season order. The CW gave the back nine order to the redux of the 90's classic 'Beverly Hills, 90210' today bringing it to a full season of 22 episodes.

Kirshner, CBS Par ink dealNew '90210' producer in two-year pact

Rebecca Kirshner, who just joined the CW's freshman hit "90210" as an executive producer, has inked a seven-figure overall deal with the show's producer, CBS Par Network TV.

In the first of her two-year pact, she will focus on "90210," where she runs the writers room, working alongside executive producers/showrunners Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah. In the second year, she will segue into development while helping on "90210" as a consultant if it returns for a second season.

Following her stint as a co-executive producer on "Gilmore Girls," Kirshner shifted her attention to development in the past year. She was in the thick of prepping pitches when she got a call from CBS Par head of drama Julie McNamara; at first thought she was being approached to join a sci-fi show set in the year 90210. 

"I was so focused on development I had ruled out staffing on a show," Kirshner said. But the chance to develop for CBS Par, whose slate includes character-driven shows like "Swingtown" that she is attracted to, and to be part of the new "90210" was just too tempting.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Kirshner was the same age as the class from the original "Beverly Hills, 90210." She cut her bangs the same way Brenda (Shannen Doherty) did and even went to the prom in the same black dress with a big white bow that Brenda and Kelly (Jennie Garth) wore to their prom on the show.

"It was definitely a part of the cultural iconography of my age, so it's exciting to think I'll be part of creating something that might have cultural resonance for another generation," she said.

Working on "90210" and writing for Garth and Doherty already brings back high school memories for Kirshner. 

"If I keep this up, pretty soon I'll be dancing to the Violent Femmes, wearing my old Doc Martens, drinking 'Scorpion Bowls' at the local Chinese restaurant and popping No-Doz to stay up all night studying for the SATs," she said.

After an very compressed production schedule for "90210's" first batch of episodes, the goal is to "let it breathe a bit," Kirshner said. "I'd like to make the voices and characters very specific and tell some jokes, too."

Characters and humor have always been Kirshner's specialty.

A Harvard graduate and Lampoon alumna, she got her start on "Freaks and Geeks" and went on to work on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Gilmore."

It was on "Freaks" where Kirshner met Sachs and Judah, who showed the novice the ropes. 

When CBS Par brass brought up her name as a possible addition to "90210," Sachs said the two loved the idea.

"She has always had a great, funny, quirky voice, and she's good with story," Judah said. 

With her acting training from Harvard and her Hollywood looks, Kirshner jokes that she might do a cameo on "90210" as a substitute teacher at West Beverly Hills High alongside former idols Garth and Doherty.

But her ultimate dream -- after she develops her own show -- is to write a novel.

Kirshner, who also is writing an indie feature, a character-driven thriller in the school of "Witness" or "Marathon Man" to be directed by her actor fiancee Harry Sinclair, is repped by UTA and attorney Ken Richman.

So... thoughts on last nights show..

Harry catching Annie makin out with hot rich guy was cute. Loved Debbie's talk with her and Annie asking if dad will forget this ever happened. Lol.

I loved that brneda had a point this episode, aside from just hanging around. I thought she did very weel dealing with that little druggie bitch whom i hope FOAD's soon.

The play was cute. Cheesy, but when are plays on tv not cheesy?

I loved how this kid of mirrored old90210.

Annie & Dixon with the condomw as funny. 4 years? that thing wont work! lol. Dixon & Silver were suber cute. I love there relationship, and loved it when Dixon thought they were going to have sex and she was like, no.

Adrianne (is that her name? i hate her...) setting it up so it looks like she and Ty had sex was a pretty great scene. Loved Annie running into Ethan, then naomi coming up.

I flet so bad for Annie at the end.

Next week looks amazing.

Well last night episode was great.

it was great to see more Brenda. Loved her interaction with everyone.

Annie getting caught by her father and the reaction he had to seeing his daughter kissing another guy like that was very realisitc espically when it comes to fathers and daughters.

loved Dixon and Annie..The condem conversation was classic.

Well I am starting to see that Ethan and Annie are meant for eachother because he cares for her.

Ty still dont trust him but dam got played by the druggie.

Silver and Dixon what can I say they are they sleeper couple that probably was not suppose to be but they are so good its not even funny. I cant wait to see more of them because according to Tristan more Dixon and Silver to come.

Next week looks even better espically with big brother protecting his sister.

Look like there's gonna be a fashion show in next weeks ep(judging from the previews). Will Jackie be doing a line of coke at this one too?

LOL about the scenes from Spring Awakening--I hope the musical got the promo they wanted (the ads for its Seattle performances were after every commercial break here) but man it looked ridiculous--and I'm a HUGE fan of the show

I love Spring Awakening and thouhgt 90210's was good. I eman, these kids are in high school doing a play they put together ina matter of weeks. They are not broadway stars.

But they should be I guess I can't get past the ridiculousness of it all--no high school would perform the show, even if it were available for amateurs to lease. I also know Duncan Sheik was against it which colors my view I admit.

I kinda like that Adrianna is the "baddie" of the series. I thought it was going to be Naomi, I guess not.

I'm loving Dixon/Silver too, but I hope we see a deeper relationship.

Kelly, you're such a bitch. Brenda should ahve said "I've been screwing Dylan for the past few months" Im not liking that Brenda's been brought back to prop up Kelly and and her and Dylan as a couple. I wonder how long before this pisses off Doherty and she storms off the set in a bitchfit...lol
