The serve clock is a big flop so far. Instead of making the game faster, it’s made some players realize how much time they have to serve and use the 25 seconds more tactically. It’s made the pace of play slower if anything. And the clock doesn’t restart for second serves.

I've always thought he sucked...serve only....but could he be injured again? And why did Grigor withdraw from the Masters tourney?

And lawd the courts at this weeks Masters tourney are so fast.....saw Thiem's match and the speed is way too fast...no wonder Thiem never does well and Roger wins it a lot and always plays it.....seemed even faster than a grass court tourney......

TBH, a faster surface at the end of the season is kinder than a slow grinding court.  Yeah, the flip side is that guys like Rafa and Thiem who do well on slower surfaces are usually at a distinct disadvantage but most of the year the hard courts tend to be slow, which is a disadvantage to anyone who prefers a faster hard court.

Cilic lost to Nicolas Jarry of Argentina.  I didn't see the match so I can't figure out what happened.  Cilic can sometimes be perplexing.  He has a big serve but it can sometimes go off and become wildly inconsistent.  Also, he's subject to nerves and plain old unsteady play when you least expect it. He seemed to be like, a game away from taking the match when I checked the score--the next time I checked, he had lost, LOL.

Now I know why Rafa skipped the tourney. When someone like Ebden who sucks usually on tour is smashing aces and serving and volleying on almost every point.....you know something is terribly wrong with the courts. Some of his volleys were so bad yet they would drop over and had zero bounce to it....awful.

I saw the Cilic and Jarry match. I was so happy Jarry won. I like his game. Once Cilic missed a serve Jarry had the advantage on the rallies as Cilic would miss shots or get overpowered by Jarry.

Damn Kei!

I could just imagine how rocking that crowd must have been when Wu won that first set!  Wu is one of those players that I usually only see at Chinese tournaments and he seems to love to play at home tournaments.

Yes, there tends to be a rivalry between China and Japan but I think it tends not to extend to tennis, a highly individualized sport.  I mean, Kei has Michael Chang who is a Chinese-American.

Something for the future perhaps: Leo Borg, the 15-year old son of Björn Borg, was given a wild-card to the pre-qualification tournament for the Stockholm Open this year. Although he lost, the mere fact that the name of Borg is back on the tennis circuit is titillating. Wimbledon 2025?

    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!
