It wouldn't really be a conflict of interest since the Corday's had already owned stake in Y&R and owned Days as well via Corday Productions. Betty consulted for Y&R from the show's debut in 1973 to her death in 1987. As for influence, who knows? She must've been good at what she did on Y&R to continue for that long.
