Y&R: David Tom interested in a return!

It's time again to do some rumor control, suds fans!

You may have recently read elsewhere that David Tom — yummy younger brother of Heather Tom — is reprising his role as Billy Abbott on CBS's The Young and the Restless.

That is false.

"David just finished doing 10 episodes of Veronica Mars and he's in between jobs," Tom's rep tells TVGuide.com. "He would love to return to Y&R. However, nobody from the show has ever approached us about David returning or made any formal offer."

The CBS soap's rep would say only that "Y&R does not comment on rumors."

This is a Debbie Downer. I really liked David Tom during his Y&R stint from 1998 to 2002. (More recently, he was superfun as sleazeball Paul Cramer on All My Children and One Life to Live.) Tom certainly has a sexier, stronger screen presence than Scott Seymour, who played Billy oh so briefly this year. Bring our boy back, Y&R!

Yippie! With the inevitable revival of the Abbotts next year, I'd say there is a strong chance we will be getting David Tom back! Lets just hope Ashley Bashioum returns as well. :D It's only a shame he wasn't available to come back this year, due to the Veronica Mars gig. I liked Billy's relationship with Jack, but that was killed since nobody liked that Billy.

BTW, in regards to my saying there will be an inevitable Abbott revival, I truly believe this. I don't know who all it will involve, but after the insanely dumb firing of Eileen Davidson and the backlash from the cast and fans, I think they will have no choice. I expect an Ashley recast and since David Tom is available, he should be back as well. And if Traci came back I'd just about die!

Come back to us Tom!

Slightly OT but do you think that this reporter always has to discuss how hot the male in his story is? It seems like he wants to bed every single soap star! Although I like reading his column, I feel that his news report is always cheapened when he adds "hottie, yummy, hunk"! These people are ACTORS and should be reffered to as talent rather than a piece of meat. Who the frak cares if David Tom is sexier than Scott Seymour? This is so tacky. I mean this is not Perez Hilton or Pink is the new Blog...this is supposed to be TV Guide. Argh. Okay so enough with that. Agree/Disagree?

I agree. I used to love reading the TVGuide soap news every Friday but he's kinda ruined it. His constant falling all over himself for the male stars ... I'm just ... I want to read news. LOL.

I agree that it is ridicolous that the reporter always talks about how hot the actor is. It makes me not want to read it.

But anyways, I would love to see DT return. He is Billy. He totally rocked as Billy. Bring him back!

I would love to see either of the Toms return.

I've said before that this rumor is not true. It should have never even been printed in the magazines.
