ATWT: The Halloween Gala

Minus Carly and Simon's stupid heist scheme, I'm enjoying the gala.

The costumes are PHENOMENAL and most people (this does not include Lucy) look great!

My faves are Lucinda and Barbara.

-I'd never thought I'd say this, but STFU Lucinda! The Lusty pimping is awful.

Dusty is an ass. If you *know* Craig is going to be at The Lakeview, stash Johnny as far away as possible. Can't wait to see how his magic tricks affect everyone.

I like the gala, but to me they just breezed right through Hal's death, and moved right into this as if his death didn't affect them much.

They rushed too much through this whole week to get to the gala (leaving Hal's memorial and Adam's return very badly fumbled), but yeah, now that's here, I'll admit I'm enjoying the gala. Everyone looks incredible, especially Barbara and Margo. And despite the massive amounts of eyeliner, Casey and Maddie look too cute for words as Romeo and Juliet (Maddie is just glowing!).

The jewel caper is silly, and I don't understand why Simon conned Carly into helping in the first place. Why wouldn't he just go ahead and do it, and not even bother trashing the demo apartment and therefore force her to go along with the robbery? It doesn't make any sense, although I knew he'd be trying to rip off the jewels the second Craig announced who would be at the benefit.

I thought the phone conversation between Casey, Will and Adam was hilarious; I don't think I've ever seen Will and Casey just act like GUYS around each other before. Usually they're paired off with their partners while in the same scene. But watching them wrestle for the phone was fun.

Sigh. Meg and Paul are just too boring for words; I kind of hope Craig does bust them up. And I was all for them way back in the cabin!

Of course they are going to put Meg and Craig together.....see how Meg hated Paul after the baby fallout; they gradually fell in love; it will be the same thing with Meg and Craig.

You must give it to the people at ATWT! They know how to do entertaining events. I was uber pissed about Hal's tribute, but this is very good. Every time they do these events they look so well, their entire production staff deserves awards! Come Emmy time I wonder what they will submit. They have Jennifer's death, The Perfect Storm and this.

Lucinda and Luke were so cute and *so* gay together. I love those two together! I'd like for Luke to get a love interest by now. We all know Elwood is no threat to Casey or Will's relationships, so why not put him with Luke? The actor is good and it would be a nice way to keep him around.

As a big Holden/Lily fan, I can't wait until they have their own story again. Seeing them miss out on the Halloween Gala just showed how removed these two are from the rest of the canvas. I hope they don't stick on the backburner.

With Tom working with Craig, it looks like he and Margo are finally making a MUCH deserved comeback! It's so great seeing these two uber talented actors featured again and they have more chemistry than any couple on the show. Now just give Barbara a story and I'll be pleased.

The only thing that I'm disappointed about is that the actor who played Adam had to leave for schedule conflicts. I can't imagine how they will find someone as talented (boy has chemistry with ENTIRE cast) and as sexy as him! :( I'm devestated. He even looked like Margo/Hal/Tom's son. PERFECT casting!

Wow I didn't know that about the new Adam. I hate that he is leaving already too. I hope they get someone just as good.

I am loving the Gala too. I am just waiting for someone to call this a ratings stunt too. It is sad that because of ABC's pattern that everytime a show does something special now it is called a stunt. One thing about the things that ATWT does is they move the story along from one point to another. Except for the Slasher story, I don't see anything it helped much.

I am loving seeing Tom more too. Now if they can do the same for Margo.

As to Luke, my dream for him still is to get a story like Brian/Justin one on Queer As Folk. I think Luke is so innocent like Justin was when QAF debuted. Letting him fall for an older experienced guy like Brian would be so interesting. Brian would only want him for sex, but Luke would fall hard for him. I think it would be a very neat story, and a first for daytime.

Steve, there is always Henry and I've always had a difficult time buying him with women. That is certainly a good idea! I just hope they don't forget about him.

Like the glamourous feel of it....the stories...uh, not so much.

It feels really smushed, like every character is standing within five inches of each other, unless they conveinently leave the room to have an actual conversation. I mean, couldn't they have had a bona fide "stage" for the magician's trick, instead of hauling it into the middle of the dance floor?

Yes, I know, I'm a curmudgeon.

I am enjoying The Hallowen Gala so far. I don't like the direction they are going with Jade and Adam. It was a nice touch to have Lisa there as well. But where was Nancy? I was surpised HOlden and Lily didnt attend the Gala.

Adam is simply being used to be the continuing catalyst in the Gwen/Will relationship.

Love the costumes, however, wasn't vibing on Lucy's Cleopatra....Loved Lucinda, but could also do without the constant pimping up for a Lucy/Dusty reunion.

I like the look of it, but the storylines are v. lackluster. I'm definitely loathing the whole Dusty/Lucy pimping on the show. I  when Lucinda's involved w/ Luke...they just need to get her the hell away from Lucy and all her drama. Everyone looks great, except Lucy.

This kind of reminds me of the costume party that they had when HB first came on as Craig. It's weird b/c at times it seems like an almost-duplicate of that event.

Though I don't agree w/ him working w/ Craig, I'm so happy that we're seeing more of Tom. He's one of my fave characters, and has been so neglected for the past 6+ years!! :o Now, ATWT just needs to bring a few more characters on the frontburner, and throw a bunch of them onto the backburner (I'm not naming names, but I think it's obvious who needs to go).

The show has become a good metaphor for "suicide".

LIFE GOES ON.

Notice how Hal's death didn't stop the world from turning???

Real life.

Very true. I just wish the tribute would have been better for Benjamin. Do you know of any new openind for ATWT? I noticed on Friday they had new bumpers with Lucinda and Lily/Holden.

Not really per se. Just lazy writing.

The gala was fun though.

Especially in light of his on-screen daughter Jennifer's send off. It's not lazy, it's shameful.

About new/revamped openings, the PGP blogspot mentions something about new ones appearing "soon", in one of the comments sections. Alina's a PGP shill, so she occassionally knows what she's talking about.
