ATWT: The Halloween Gala

-After today, I think it's pretty safe to say TIIC WILL write in MW's pregnancy.

Nah...I don't see the reason to. It's not like Carly hasn't been pursued by Simon for months. And the general outline of the story was written months before Maura even announced her pregnancy.

Unfortunately, I don't see any sparks between Adam and Jade, so I'm not looking forward to that continuing. I like Jade as a character, because she's a total sociopath who does what she does because she so desperate for a home and attention and she doesn't have the slightest clue how to get that. Softening her or making her a victim in any way is a mistake.

I think the sparks for Adam will be with Gwen, and maybe there's a down fall in the future for Wil --- at the hands of Adam/Jade.

Good show today. The Gwen pimping is driving me up the wall! Just way too much of it! I loved seeing all the vets on today. I guess it's sex time for Carly and Simon. And why is Jade in the bumpers and not Luke?

BTW...Where is Susan and Nancy? They should be at the Gala. Susan works for the hospital.

Bumping up...

Tickle me pink that Carly can't get dressed fast enough once Simon starts saying the L-word.

Carly's using him for sex. Her heart's still with Jack. :D

Sigh. I knew Jade would give Adam some watered-down version of what happened, and he would feel sorry for her in the end. This story will end up exactly like it did the last two times we did this with Jade (and Will/Gwen, and Lily & Co.): Adam will befriend and embrace Jade, then Jade will do something reprehensible and lie through her teeth, and Adam will look like a fool for believing her, as Jade wanders off to find another sucker. Can we just get to the end part already?

Wow. Craig completed preyed on every single one of Emily's weaknesses today, right down to musing that maybe she and Hal would have had a child together if Paul hadn't come back into her life. Paul actually looks like a *nice* guy compared to the way Craig is manipulating Emily. Hats off the master on that one!

And still, my favorite story is Casey and Maddie; they keep moving forward, dealing with all the different parts of recovery, for her *and* for him, and I am so impressed with the show for not skipping over any of it. It's the only storyline the show currently has which doesn't have a lot of repetitive scenes and/or a lot of breakup/makeup predictibility, and it's given the slasher story, in the end, a lot more repercussions and heft than I thought it would have back in the summer. I'm glad Casey admitted how angry he still is at Lewis, and that sometimes he's not sure how he's supposed to treat Maddie; so far, he's been pretty much the Perfect Boyfriend in all of this, and it's good of them to show that he struggles with it, too.

Dusty is a bastard.

Letting that creep adopt Johnny is one of the worst mistakes the show has made.

I was fuming when he threatened Barbara never to let her see her GRANDSON again.

Of course P.J. Simon is just for the moment; It doesn't matter if Jack is with someone, or if Carly is with someone, their hearts and thoughts are always with one another.

I hope you are right in saying that there will NOT be a Carly preggers storyline...We have too many "Who's the Daddy" storylines as it is/was...We don't need another one.

Jade will never learn, nor will she ever be honest. Jade needs a love interest/potential that isn't apart of the Muson/Hughes clan. She should have been paired with Dallas.

Simon is a pig! He almost slept with Vienna and now slept with Carly. Yuck! And I know what he will do next. I cant wait for him to leave town. What an animal! I loved the Lucinda and Luke scenes. They both work well against each other. I cant wait to see Katie's reaction to finding out Simon slept with Carly not to mention Jack's reaction.

It's nice to see and hear that, and have it back up by what's on the screen. No matter how obtusely. For too long all I've seen is Simon bein' all that, haulin' Carly to NY or the Islands, buying her this, that and the other. Hearing rumors of sweet, sweet lovin', yadda yadda. It's driven me frackin' insane. LOL!! It's long past time to get Carjack back to front and center.

Oh, and I get that Jade's version was self-serving...but it's not exactly like we don't know that's not how it started. Unless I'm just blanking it out.

I knew part of Craig's plan was to test Emily. It's exactly what he did at the Halloween 2000 party. Only the blonde he tested was Carly.

Me too!!! <giggle> And I'm not sorry either.

Anyhoo...Jack already thinks Carly was sleeping with Simon. It's what finally motivated him into admitting to Gwen he was an ass.

Okay, let's get this straight: In order for Gwen to have a singing career with the help of Adam, she has to accept his bringing aroud Jade whenever he wants? He's known Jade um one second, but knows his family for I don't know how long, yet Adam takes the sob story of Jade to heart all because he's "smitten" with her?

Get that boy some glasses or something, because you have to be blind not to see what trouble Jade is capable of.

Katie is pathetic. I loved Vienna telling Katie about Simon and Carly. Poor Jack, I actually felt sorry for him today. But he brought it all on himself. It looks like he wants Carly back now. Carly has two men after her and Katie has none. (Well she has Mike but I think she wants Simon).

Btw, I was nice seeing Lucinda today!

What is with the writers of the show....so far, I've seen the downhill of the women on the show. I'll explain:

Gwen first came on the show as this tough talking, in your face girl, who wasn't about to let anyone talk down to her, con her, or use her. Now, Gwen, in some points has lost all that edge and basically took the lies of Jade serious enough to walking away from Will.

Emily, seem to have lost all her senses the minute they put her with Paul and help plot keeping Jennifer's son away from her. Ever since then, she's obsessed non-stop about Paul, now joining in with Craig to try her best to mess with Paul's relationship with Meg, once again.

Carly. I love me some Carly, but from the minute Julia Larabee was killed and buried, they've kept Carly plotting scheme after scheme after scheme; they de-sorased her when they made Gwen her sister; they had her go as far as sexing it up in a sleazy club to help Jack get his job back; and NOW they have the girl in cahoots with Simon to pay off some loan shark. When they broke Carly and Jack up, I at first thought it was a good idea, simply because I thought it was a good way of showing how Carly's lies could one day cost her her one true love; however, now, they have her suddenly hot and bothered about Simon, when we know it's just a pairing to get a rise out of Katie.

Finally, speaking of Katie. I've always been a Katie fan, but they have taken her to the depths of annoyance for me. To me, they've ruined her friendship with Henry in order to get her back together with Mike; they had her all up in Jack and Carly's marital business; now they have her obsessing way too much about what Carly and Simon are doing with each other between the sheets.

I've only seen a selected few women that haven't been butchered; and that's mainly the vets, simply because they aren't on the screen long enough to have a good storyline.

*drops downs on hands and knees and worships Venus*

I totally agree, V. And I coudn't have said any of that any better than what you just did!! :D

Well, Gwen always seemed tough to me, but let's face it, she always wilted faster than day old lettuce. She'd blubber about how honest she was, then go and do something stupid. I don't miss her combative attitude, but I wish the transition was a little less jarring. The minute she got Will's love, she literally became Suzy Homemaker.

Emily's always been a fracked up [!@#$%^&*]. It's the time with Hal that was an anomaly.

Carly? I really can't believe she trusts yet another con man (after Brad and Craig, are they kidding?) but she does have a history of not walking out on her friends when they screw up. I think the worshipping of Simon's d*ck was way too much. It would have been nice for Carly to really understand that Simon does exactly what she does---only gets deeper in to trouble by trying to "fix" the situation herself. At least I can give her some credit, she's wanted to do the "right" thing...but her pride (in not wanting to get an "I told you so" from Jack) and Simon's smooth talking kept her from doing it.

I can't rationally discuss Katie. To me, she's always been an annoying twit. But I do think she's been even more irrational in not dealing with Simon. At least I think the Carly/Katie friendship is over.

They need to write a story for Babs when Katie goes on the backburner. Hint, hint, tptb. Now that she's regained her sanity, I want to see more of her.

WTH is up w/ this awful storyline for Katie? Only TIIC could make the character even more stupid than before.

Why does this poor excuse for a character always get storylines? She needs to either be backburnered or leave Oakdale permanently. I still can't believe that characters like Jen get killed off, when characters like Katie don't.

Same w/ Carly. I don't understand how so many people love her when she gets such awful storylines where she acts like a complete idiot.

Also, why has Johnny not aged at all? Weird.
