i've about had it with whiny, complaining, pouty, loud, arrogant, brash carly.

she is annoying as HELL, and i can barely watch her anymore. how could any man STAND her for more than two minutes???

and she's going to go without sex? yeah, right.

I hate her. I think Laura Wright plays this character all wrong, and I haven't enjoyed Carly since her creator, Sarah Brown, was in the role.

I will always be a Sarah Brown Fan. No one has done the role justice since.

For me, the question is, how could anyone NOT find her annoying?

Carly is a character who has pretty much outlived her usefullness IMO but could've worked with Bransford or a better recast. LW's acting choices have totally killed any purpose or rooting value the character might have had left and she is just unbearable to watch. Anyone who watched GL, knows that her Cassie character was like nails on a chalkboard, but her Carly is even worse. She's like a chainsaw going right through your brain.

Do people not realize that Carly is not written the way she was when Sarah and Tamara were in the role? Carly is not written as a needy, lovesick Sonny doormat anymore. Laura acts the way Carly is written.

People tend to group all of Carly's brash behavior as that's all she is. It's not true. There have been plenty of times since Laura has took over that Carly has shown vulnerability and weakness.

I was rooting for Bransford because she got duped into the role. She auditioned for "Drew" and surprise, it's CARLY! I'm not going to go into my conspiracy theory about all of that.

carly's been nothing more than a total SHREW lately. every scene is at full pitch and full throttle, as if she's in a bad horror movie. she's become an unwatchable character/actress.

blame the writing if you want, but laura wright deserves PLENTY of blame for her actinf choices (which mainly consist of over-the-top !@#$%^&*]).

it's hard to take.

I miss Tamara in the role. And Jennifer. Even though Carly was a whiny shrew with their incarnations, they both managed to keep that spunk and grit that reflected Carly's upbringing. They had that nice element of trashiness, while Laura Wright just plays her as a pampered, tantrum throwing, Valley girl. That's where she's going wrong.

I would have loved to see how Jenna Gering or Sarah Buxton (the two runners up to Bransford) would have tackled the role. I never knew of Gering until I found out she lost to Bransford, and after looking at her site and seeing some clips of her on various shows, I think she'd have made a perfect Carly.

Laura Wright is a good actress, doing a good job with Carly, but I just dont think she gets who Carly really is. If she injected a bit of grittiness and spunk into Carly in a different form from a Clueless wannabe princess then she'd be a GREAT actress, doing a GREAT job.

Exactly. The way she gets up in people's faces and the way she snaps her neck and the way she shrieks... That's not the writing. Those are her choices. I'm just waiting for someone to smack her dead across the face when she gets all up in theirs.

Man I sure do like all the people die-hard and long-time gh fans hate.lol I love carly, alexis, sonny, jason and sam. I get why people hate sonny, but he's a gem compared to amc's babe.

Laura Wrights sense of entitlement to the role turns me off completely. Carly is definitely close to my JT hate.

LOVE Carly! She's an in your face, opinionated, !@#$%^&*] and I love that about her!!

Carly is one of my favorite soap opera characters ever and every Carly has portrayed a different thing and I have enjoyed them all!
