Josh & Babe still do nothing for me, neither do Ryan & Blandie. David stalking them at the carnival comes off to me as a cheap imitation of when Roger Thorpe was stalking Rita and Christina at the carnival on Guiding Light about 25 years ago.

Tad & Dixie's scenes came off as flat to me. Imo, the actors were just saying the lines and not even trying to make the material work (not that I can blame them since both Tad & Dixie are acting out of character. I feel sorry for Michael & Cady that they have such rotten material that doens't explain either of their motivations).

What worked for me was Tad's concern for JR, David's harrassment of Ryan, and Brooke questioning Julia's intentions toward Jamie. The rest of the episode was boring.

I agree with most of this. I actually watched most of AMC today because Victoria wasn't on Y&R haha. Josh and Babe weren't hot in the least to me. They looked like two big idiots haha. I actually admire JR's restraint when it comes to them (not to mention Kendall's with Zach and Dixie). Part of the reason IMO why Josh and Babe don't work because while no disrespect to Colin or Justin intended, Alexa's acting IMO so far is only matched with Jacob's in terms of acting romantic partner. Justin couldn't match her and as far as I can tell neither can Colin. In fact I saw more emotion in JR's scenes right after he got Babe out the freezer in saying the type of man he wanted to be etc etc more than ANY emotion I have seen from Josh during the whole Greg reveal or even the murder before that. JMO but their chemistry doesn't even touch JR and Babe's.

JR at least checked for David's pulse. David just hit him really hard on the head with a blunt object and just left him for 'dead' without so much as checking to see if he was ok! I actually liked the scenes with Babe and Josh they were supposed to be comedic and light and they were supposed to be carefree in that way i felt. It wa the only comedic relief we had today with the exception of Ryan and Annie. But i think when they were drunk they were supposed to be acting like "two big idiots".

Well i think that's the difference. The Jabe relationship is dramatic, angsty and dark while Bash isn't supposed to be this way. It is supposed to be carefree, kind of fluffy with an underlying mutual physical and emotional understanding and a connection between two people.

I think Colin is very talented just on his guest starring apperance on Nip/tuck and with his scenes with Alicia when he was afraid his father was going to die due to Erica's drugging as well as his scenes with Sydney telling her to help him bury Greg's remains. He was like a sad/lost little boy in those scenes just begging for someone to help him and i think in those scenes it defined Josh he bury's that pain so deep inside of him that he hasn't got a chance to deal with the loss of his father.

Okay. And my opinion was that your opinion was funny. Who cares if David's a doctor? JR CHOKED HIM!! Okay, so he checked for a pulse... BUT HE BLOCKED ANOTHER MAN'S AIR PASSAGE WITH THE INTENT OF CUTTING OFF HIS OXYGEN!!! I'm sorry, but I find it funny that that could be overlooked, but there is absolutely no excuse for David. Amanda seems like an odd choice to be helping map the show, she's has one of the shortest histories with the show of all the writing staff members.

I just hope this all works out.

I haven't heard Amanda is involved with the new "bible," at least not yet, but the choice wouldn't surprise me. She is very highly regarded by Julie Carruthers. Amanda was Julie's first "AMC" hire, and she had Amanda begin work immediately after she headed East for "AMC."

She was recruited by Barbara Bloom for ABC in the late 1990s. She got work at "GH" as Bob Guza's assistant, and was training in the writers development program.

Bob Guza didn't want Amanda on his staff as a regular writer, for whatever reason, so Barbara hired her at "PC" when she was co-head writer.

I personally think Amanda's ballsy, saucy personality turned sweet Bob off. He likes his female writers to be daddy's good little girls, kissing his ass on regular intervals.

She exited "PC" when Barbara and Karen left.

When Amanda got to "AMC," the intent was always for her to rise to the top (not head writer, but top of the staff). Julie got Amanda trained in breakdown writing. When you think about it, all of the other script writers (Bradbury, Lewis, and Taylor) had more experience than her and were not given the same opportunity.

Amanda may have only spent three years at "AMC," thus far, but I don't think there's a writer on-staff who knows the show inside and out like she does. She knows her stuff, she is VERY dedicated and does truly love the show and its history.

So Amanda Beall would be a logical choice to participate in the planning of the new show's new direction, if she is, indeed, the choice.
