  1. Another legend. Sigh. I am so sad. May light perpetual shine upon her. May hosts of angels guide her to her heavenly home. May she be met there by friends & family & beloved pets.
  2. Yes, some actors & it did follow as to timeslot & in the modern era some GH characters have been located as living in neighborhoods in TYM but that is not nearly enough to rise to the level of either sister soap r spin-off. And, now we are totally & egregiously off-topic & I apologize to the thread, its posters & its illustrious originator @Faulkner
  3. Yes, I concur that Agnes took over GL in 1958 when Irna went back to working full time on her other baby, ATWT. But, Agnes could have written TBD anytime during the show's existence (1954-1962) especially since the show changed hands. That bible could have just been sitting there while a lot of craziness was going on behind the scenes. Furthermore, the writer of the above passage could have just been sloppy with their writing, choice of words, etc. We think alike about misinformation. I slogged through it alone to get a fandom wiki to change their *ahem* assertion that The Young Marrieds is a sister soap or spin-off of GH. (An impossibility since GH was not even located in Port Charles till 1977.) So we agree on philosophy but disagree about this instance. Basically, your argument does not convince me that Agnes wrote it in 1962.
  4. Shout out to Shawn Reeves, GH Costume Designer! And, about the remarkable one & only Jane Eliiot as Tracy Q, I concur in all ways in every degree.
  5. Boy, she looks soooo young here. Here is Jensen in a deodorant commercial. A friend was binging old ATWT & there she was!
  6. Robert Kelker-Kelly has come up on #SoapTwitter & so I want to talk about him here. He had a well-earned reputation for not getting along with his female co-stars. Sandy Ferguson, AW, Crystal Chappell, DAYS, and Lisa Rinna, DAYS. I'm not sure if there's anyone from GH. I also am not sure if there was a problem with Jensen. All that is ancient history. More recently he has battled demons & won & turned his life & himself around & for that I say Bravo! He also set about to make amends to different people, one by one. Apparently everyone was amenable to that except Lisa Rinna who didn't want to hear it & sez she will never forgive him. RKK is a pilot & flies things around for hospitals. He & Miriam are divorced. He has a daughter & she lives there, in St. Louis, so that is where he lives, too, which is also why he doesn't take acting roles.
  7. I love the story Laura Wright tells on herself where she & PAS were scene partners on Loving that she had this monstrous crush on him & was sure that he reciprocated! LW was still new then to the big city. Everyone tried to tell her. I can only imagine how polite he was in letting her down easy!! I met him & he is not at all intimidating. In Brooklyn, walking his cute little dog. Nice guy. Class act.
  8. #AMC The actor who played Zoe/Zarf has died. RIP Jeffrey Carlson. https://news.snbc13.com/jeffrey-carlson-actor-death-star-of-all-my-children-and-long-beach-native-has-died/
  9. I want to get a jump on the week. I said Jackson Montgomery would be in Port Charles this week & that he would interact with Felicia & with Anna. I was WRONG. It's Felicia & Lucy! So be sure & mark that down on your scorecard.
  10. I've met a lot of soap actors, almost all from the New York based soaps & from when I lived in Brooklyn & attended events at Blondie's, etc. most from AW & from GL. I don't literally think I would faint meeting anyone. Instead I would become totally shy, quiet, paralyzed, tongue-tied, you get the picture. I could've met Anne Heche after her performance of Proof on Broadway but instead I just stood there, at a distance, watching while people got autographs. I regretted that.
  11. Good luck searching! The other day I ran into a poster I have in my AW/Network file. Small world sometimes.
  12. Thank you for sharing this. I will add it to the body of my notes!
  13. I'm going to pick a nit here. The item does not say when Agnes was writing TBD so we do not know that the statement is incorrect that she 'went on' to write TGL. Since you chose to split this hair, I'll split it too. Cordially & respectfully, of course.
  14. RIP Nic Coster. I'm so glad he got his memoir done. (All My Afternoons) He was on Facebook & was very cordial, at ease, etc. with being online & among fans & friends. One of my favorite things about him is that he had a feud with Beverlee McKinsey. I don't find it strange that among all the actors that some of them wouldn't get along with each other. (I adore them both.) She had a photographic memory & always knew all her lines, all your lines, all the punctuation & all the stage directions & she wasn't very tolerant of people who struggled to get their lines down. An anecdote says that he criticized her for not being a "spontaneous" actor & that every take was the same from her. Supposedly once he came to the set without his trousers on, just his shirt tail hanging down over his boxers and he said she never even noticed.
  15. Sure, I understand. Nonetheless, I will hang onto it in my body of quotes & notes. Gee, slick, you say the nicest things! Thanks so much. Appreciate it.
  16. Good morning, Paul. No, it's a paragraph in the Wikipedia/Wikiwand entry for "The Brighter Day": Among the show's writers were Doris Frankle, and Sam Hall. Agnes Nixon had been hired to write the show (and had created the character on which Ada and Rachel Davis, two characters on NBC's Another World were based), but the show was cancelled before her work was ever taped. Ms. Nixon then went to write The Guiding Light and, later, Another World before creating her two classic soap operas on the ABC network. Probably the only criticism that can be made about Agnes's own book is that she did not mention so many things: not even Loving, nor AW nor GL.
  17. Sure. I look up ratings all the time. I simply didn't realize you were being sarcastic. .
  18. You've got a hilarious typo. "went from number nine in the ratings to number nine"
  19. Here's the last time I captured full writing credits 6-12-23 Closing Credits: All Writers: Ron Carlivati, Ryan Quan, Christopher Dunn, Jeanne Marie Ford, Jamey Giddens, Dave Ryan, Katherine Schock, Fran Myers, Joanna Cohen, Carolyn Culliton, Richard Culliton, Kirk Doering, David Kreizman, Sonja Alaar (Changes: Jazmen Darnell Brown & Henry Newman are gone. Sonja Alaar is new.) Fran Myers is Script Editor. Fran Myers & Jeanne Marie Ford are Fi-Core. NOTE: Henry Newman reappeared.
  20. I've said 4 names, over & over: Michele Val Jean, employed at B&B, Patrick Mulcahey not employed writing that I know of, Nancy Curlee also not employed writing that I know of & Sheri Anderson whose current status we all know!
  21. Me, too. We have that in common. 🤔🙄😏😉🙋‍♀️
  22. I'm not sure if it's a Minority Rapport or not but personally I do not find the show worthless or garbage or even the worst its ever been. Yes, I think the show is flawed. Yes, I think there are distinct problems in the writing & in the use of personnel. Yes, I think Ron should either be replaced or be given some great co-HW that he would have to pay attention to, etc. Yes, I know everyone says Ron would quit before doing so. My biggest criticism of the current show is that we seem to have days when the show is great & we have days when the show is terrible, when what we need is some middle ground for an ordinary day just being ordinary but not lacking in quality. The writing problems I believe are pacing, balance, off storytelling in the name of comedy or camp that instead are just in poor taste. In terms of casting, the way they use personnel, schedule stories is just bizarre. Also in terms of casting the past year has seen far too many new characters, barely sketched in but immediately put into front burner stories. Last too many stories are just disposables, throwaways. I find that I usually like the show 1 or 2 days per week, which, obviously is not enough to be sustainable long-term.
  23. Well, for years we thought that Erica/Mona was written first & that bible was in a drawer & meanwhile she saved AW so Rachel/Ada was written second but done first. Then we found out about "The Brighter Day" which was the earliest (1954-1962) & it literally says that she created 2 characters that she later did again as Rachel/Ada, so now we know that Erica/Mona was not written first. This, below here, is the correct order. But, no, I would not say that they were identical or same. They were similar, parallel, etc.
