  1. Oh. Sorry. I was even more confused than I thought. With the boink & the primetime show & the Sami reveal ... Meh. I will just hang on.
  2. So, the other day was the anniversary of the boink on the plane conference table, right? And, now what's coming up is when they find out that Sami saw them? I am somewhat confused. HA
  3. I just wish that NBC had had leadership that could've made them strong & that they had not worked to kill or get rid of AW. It was a real shame to lose such a little jewel. And, game shows could've been part of a larger plan. I just heard that Mariska Hargitay who plays Olivia Benson on L&O:SVU, that her character is the longest-running in TV history & that is 22 years. Well, of course that's primetime. They're not thinking about soaps. So AW doesn't have anyone who was original cast till its end, of course. So, I just picked Victoria Wyndham & she was there for 27 years. Going off-topic Helen Wagner who played Nancy Hughes from first show till one of the last, was on ATWT for 54 years! Mary Stuart, SFT's Jo was 35 years.
  4. Of course what was the real shame of it was that they had Jean Holloway be involved at all. I have the text of an article, "3 Women Behind 3 Top Soaps" about Babbin & Arley & Monty. Here's the excerpt about Arley, although it admittedly does not say much at all about LOL. ''It's like a Dickensian novel,'' Miss Arley said. ''It's fantasyland and entertainment, and problems that anyone can empathize with and that you don't get in any other medium. We have an opening night every day.'' The women love their jobs, but not because they have suddenly been thrust into a new and fascinating world. Their careers before they were appointed to these positions were equally as challenging. ''We've paid our dues,'' said Miss Arley. She majored in drama at Stanford University and started out as ''an extroverted kid who wanted to be an actress,'' with the Wharf Theater in Monterey, Calif., and Off Broadway in New York, before becoming a casting director for theater, commercials and television series. ''The commercials were fun at first because they had been using bland, white-bread types and I brought in great character people, but eventually it became boring,'' she said. ''I was working for a lot of producers, and I thought I knew as much they did, so I became an associate producer and then a producer.'' Before taking over her current position at the beginning of the year, she was associated with ''Love of Life'' and ''Ryan's Hope.'' <https://www.nytimes.com/1983/07/25/style/3-women-behind-3-tops-soaps.html
  5. You mean Bridget. Berger & David Hedison were two over 50 yr old actors that JFP fired. I have curated a YouTube list of nothing but scenes with Bridget & Vicky talking, Berger & Heche. Anyone who wants a copy can msg me. I really missed Bridget.
  6. Great! You should not let yourself be taken advantage of! And, unmedicated is definitely a word! And, stoopid is just slang spelling of stupid & I use it sometimes to talk about Frank Valentini hiring someone because he sent him a text message which said put me on your show. I mean, my God, GH has one of the Emmy-winningest Casting Directors ever specifically to find actors to hire! Sorry, that's GH & off-topic. I wonder if someone at DOOL wasn't stupid to lose Lindsay Arnold!
  7. I planned ahead that yesterday I was going to start watching NEIGHBOURS. Well, I had a dickens of a time. I first tried Amazon Prime Video & it said that they were not available in my area. Weird. Got on the phone with Amazon. Sure enough. Not available. What the heck is wrong with Atlanta that it can't watch NEIGHBOURS?!! So, I tried to download & install Freevee on my computer. Couldn't do it without signing up for a not-free site between me & it. So I looked on my Roku. No Freevee. BUT! I found where you can add channels on the Roku, which is what I did & so I watched the first episode of Season 2012. Enjoyed it. Wrote it up. Posted about it. So I need to look on Prime Video under the phrase "Iconic Episodes"? I'm glad to find this thread.
  8. Speaking of an actor from Another World, is anyone else here reading Anne Heche's new book? I've got it on my kindle & I'm up to Chapter 4 & it is really quite good. I had no idea she had it in her to do a book like this. Has anyone heard or read anything about its sales?
  9. I have actually been cyberbullied by other posters & I hope it never happens to you!
  10. Okay, I'm afraid I'm going to have to call a foul on the play for fictitious narrative. I do not believe that either Abe or Paulina has ever said word one about Sloan! And, @AbcNbc247I know that you did not say this, that it just quoted wrong. I'm not so positive if Nicole has said anything. And I know many fans have dragged Sloan but let's be fair to Abe & Paulina!
  11. Oy! The mental pictures you evoke!! 🫵🫰😜🤪
  12. I am good with this about Megan, about Miranda the actress, about Stacy Haiduk, etc. But, Megan was villainous in the 80s & she was crazy for Bo & she was in a hot tub accident where she was electrocuted & hope was there & saw it, so Hope's reaction in BS2 when she suddenly saw Megan walking & talking was classic!
  13. I, too, wish Ari's anniversary had covered more. And that rumor makes perfect sense. So, does this mean that this week we are now watching "Peacock-written" story? We had said March, which is just days away! @Erroldo you know if we've reached that threshold? And, just for the sake of whatever, DOOL, little bits of info, they are not at the studio & Season 58 is "in the can".
  14. On #SoapTwitter today Another World Memories tweeted that on 2-27-1989 Joanna Going had her last day as Lisa Grady, a run of two years. Well, I was utterly shocked! I would've thought Lisa was a part of the Bay City canvas at lest twice that long! Just goes to show you what your memory can do to you!! I wonder what else I recall WRONG!!! 😜🫵🫰🔊Now Hear This! Memory is Faulty! Look it up! 🤪🤕🤣
  15. On 2-27-1980 "I Will Survive" won the first, the last & the only Grammy for Best Disco Recording.
  16. That is one thing I have specifically heard, as far as the "method to his madness" goes! Oops, I just realized we've drifted right off topic, sorry folks.
  17. Wouldn't that be ironic, if he is seriously trying to make it the easiest show to watch & ends up creating the reverse effect? Only 18 minutes out of your day, but sheer torture! Same storylines told over & over, repetitive dialog used daily, you'd think with all the kids who can listen to Baby Sharks endlessly & the teenage girls who went to see TITANIC 20-30 times, that it would work! I watched one episode last week & found it harmless.
  18. About Beyond Salem, I don't believe that anyone has any idea if there will be more BSes. Where we are on the Countdown to 5000!
  19. The way he uses repetitive dialogue, there's no way it's not intentional! They say it's all about making it an easy show to watch, very comfortable, very familiar, etc.
  20. And, BS2 is not at all a chore to watch! It's quite good. I am not personally keen on Steve Burton & he plays Harris Michaels but not even his presence was a deterrent & otherwise you've got Hope, Ciara & Ben, Anna & Tony, John & Marlena, Billie Reed played by Lisa Rinna, etc. and it's been compared to the adventures of the 80s. Also I enjoyed today. Loved the flashbacks with Ari with Jensen!! And, of course when they switched to GV that was fine, too. Abe & Paulina, some in Megan's lab, the 3 guys talking to Anna & Tony right after they talked to Orpheus last week. And, the Salem angels waked up.
  21. You're thinking of the trial runs they did of an hour long, that were standalones, right? No such trial run was done with the 90 minute show. Just when they went from 30" to 1 hour. Hope this is what you were thinking of. Not very many people had lines in the SAG In Memoriam 2023 but both Anne Heche & Ray Liotta did.
  22. Well, NBC had 4 groups propose soaps & then they let their affiliates choose which one they wanted & the affiliates chose the Beach Soap, plain & simple. They weren't choosing between Labine, Spelling, Cannell & whoever was 4. And, you're right, it did not fit. NBC dazzled the Dobsons by calling them up out of the blue & saying, what would you do if we let you decide everything about a new soap that you would head up? There was no possibility that they would have said NO!!! It was a perfect feed to their egos. But, Santa Barbara didn't fit either. It was too wonderfully wacky.
  23. I know that at one point they definitely wanted to. They wanted a 10:00 show and they wanted a full daytime soap lineup!! Specifically they wanted 4 soaps & they wanted to start with AW & ATWT. But, they absolutely should have snapped up both Santa Barbara & Sunset Beach & also if they could get it, Generations! Of course, NBC owned Generations so that might have been a problem. And, NBC owned half of Sunset Beach, so again, NBC might've tried to block them just because they wouldn't have wanted any new competition. And, of course, P&G definitely should have done a deal with them to keep AW on the air! P&G sold two soaps back in the day, one to CBS & one to NBC, & both ended up being cancelled before a year was out, so I guess they were just burned forever. Stupid, if you ask me. They could have been in the business of creating soaps & selling them to third parties, coming & going. I believe they had their eye on AW because it looked available & ATWT because they thought like most people that they were sister soaps, even though they're not.
  24. Here's a guy I posted the other day, Russell Todd, the last Jamie Frame. This is 2006 & here's an interview with him from same. https://pgpclassicsoaps.blogspot.com/2009/01/where-are-they-now-russell-todd-jamie.html?fbclid=IwAR0RqxvpjZ-MafVPf0dVzzG90Jb1Falbq-DhXCUkuCfYal3JR_qU5wuvS4s
  25. 13 BOURBON ST. was a soap pilot with Michael Malone & Josh Griffith, 1997. FOX made an initial commitment for 65 episodes to air on weeknights at 11 pm. It was set in NOLA with a lead female character Marigold Katrina Jorgensohn, a singer wannabe from a small town in Indiana who had come to NOLA. John Beck, Lonette McKee, Michael Park, Henry Simmons & Nicole Forrester had been cast by Meg Simon along with a handful of others. Linda Gottlieb was EP with Michael Malone & Josh Griffith as co-HWs & co-Creators. Paul B. Margolis was an Associate HW. On the strength of the FOX commitment, a pilot was shot. All of Michael Malone's papers including this script are said to be at Duke University, Raleigh, NC. FOX wanted to get into soaps badly as early as 1998. They tried to get P&G to sell them ANOTHER WORLD. They tried to get P&G to just move ANOTHER WORLD to FOX in the afternoon. P&G would not entertain any thing they offered. (They also turned away CBS & ABC & Screen Gems & allowed the show to go off the air instead of investing in a new deal with new players.)
