Sometimes writers get "tarred with the brush" when they're not really in favor of violence against women. The Dobsons certainly weren't either in favor of it or irresponsibly using it when they did the marital rape story on GL. They closely studied the Gloria Rideout rape & trial in Oregon. Pat Falken Smith is an example but not on GL. And, Donna Swajeski is another example, also not on GL.

Okay, so to set up what you just watched. Heather taunted Ava with the idea that Ryan had done even more than she knew to her & damaged her life in his extreme obsession with her & when she had Ava sufficiently wound up, she gave Ava her gun, the gun Ryan had left her with to hold Ava & Felicia prisoner till he returned. She told Ava that this was her chance to finally settle the obsession once & for all. Ava immediately left the room & showed up in the clearing in the woods. Esme, whose water had broken & who was having contractions, got away from Ryan while he was paying full attention to Ava, who shot him. Later, Esme reappeared in the living room at Wyndemere, running straight into Laura's arms. Heather had told Felicia that she could go. Mac & company had shown up at Wyndemere & at the end Felicia was going back to the mainland with Austin, on an ER stretcher, and Heather was in cuffs with a cop right beside her.

Oh, yes, I completely forgot that you can't access GH regularly. Let me see. Sorry I misspoke!

I liked that, too, and I have hated that they let Challie be so isolated that neither of them had anyone to talk to but Johnny or Alex. Allie needed to have Nicole to talk to in the past months & I thought we should see Allie talk to Nicole before leaving for New Zealand. But, very apparently the show did not keep up with that relationship. A pity. Nicole was good again today as a thinking human being, not just a bed warmer. Finally EJ is going to get onto Stefan drugging him & then it will really hit the fan. The show, in the Salem dimension, was good again today. We had the brothers, Eric & Brady, communicating again & today taking action, which they must have planned on yesterday's show. I'm not sure why they decided to tackle both the Rolf problem & the Stefan problem but it's welcome action.

That is well said. But, it is a bigger issue than just this storyline. Liz's story, they didn't know what they were doing upfront & then made decisions & then changed those decisions & made other decisions. Nina & missing daughter/daughters, same thing only played out over a longer period of time. Now, not deciding ahead of time who the serial killer is, making it up as you go along. This is the kind of mistake a young inexperienced HW or team would make. They should know better! It's incredibly stupid and there's no excuse for it.

I was shocked & appalled when I learned that Calhoun had said that. I thought he said, "not entirely unprovoked" though, which is a wee bit different but just as bad. I can only imagine how furious MG must have been.

I think recent times has yielded reels for Maura, for Taby, for show/writing/directing. I find myself wondering if Alley Mills is gonna have a reel but perhaps I am just overly dazzled with her Heather.
