@ranger1rg Understood. My main takeway here is that we completely agree about the person who is called Li.

Nyah, it wouldn't have had its first soap crush be on Susan Seaforth Hayes's Julie!

Okay, common Wendy detractors make a common DAYS-ish accusation, which is of a female being introduced spunky & interesting & then as soon as they begin to rom-pair her they take all the spunk out of her & leave her boring. But, you never saw anything in the first place? I'm just checking. Interested.

@FrenchFan Thank you so much! I have a forum poster who says it's 1971. I have Courtney Sherman Simon who says it is 1971. And, now you agree. You've made my day.

Search For Tomorrow Discussion Thread
Hey! I have a favor to ask. This is most of one page of storyline synopsis from this magazine. What I need to know is what year these events aired. Many thanks if you can confidently date it. Search For Tomorrow. (1977). Daytime TV Library Series No. 7. Free to marry, just as Sam and Mary's wedding day approached, Sam decided to undertake one last mission to the U.N. for Africa. He disappeared but this secret was kept from Jo since she had been severely injured in a car crash. When Scott Phillips came to town he had no idea that Doug Martin was his real father. He was shocked to learn the truth from his grandmother. It took Scott a long time to come to terms with the man he thought had deserted his mother. Scott met a woman named Laurie Leshinsky. Laurie had a son, Eric, by a previous affair. Knowing Scott could offer her the kind of life she wanted, she got Scott to marry her. But when Scott entered law school, Laurie's demands on his time became annoying. At school he met attractive law student, Kathy Parker. Without realizing it Scott and Kathy began to fall in love. Scott and Laurie separated and eventually divorced. But Kathy was liberated and didn't want children. Scott felt she would change her mind. On the day he proposed, Kathy told Scott she had an abortion the day before. Jo's life was saved by Dr. Tony Vincente. He provided comfort and got her to feel life was worth living when she learned of Sam's presumed death. But Tony could not marry Jo because he felt guilty about his wife, Marcy, who had been an invalid for many years and who blamed her condition on Tony. his If I say anything that has been said already, sorry. I know that Mary-Ellis Bunim & Pete Lemay had uncomplimentary things to say about each other. I believe I have quotes if any of you want me to look them up. Also because of the strike Pete was not actually there long. Some said she (M-EB) wanted to get rid of Jo. Some said, no, she just wanted to introduce younger characters. Patrick Mulcahey said she got a raw deal & an undeserved bad reputation but that she would not defend herself. However, he did & said lots of glowing things about her. chg. from that to this: Do you remember the little mag out of Atlanta, Soap Opera Now, I think it was, that was co-edited by Michael Kape, Don West & Joanna ... sorry I've gone blank on her last name. Anyway, today Michael says he interviewed Brian Frons first even before they began the mag, so early 80s, and that even at that point Frons wanted to cancel soaps on his watch. SFT was one & he did indeed cancel it both at CBS & later again at NBC. Again, if this is old news, sorry.

I have long known it to be said that P&G, for example, stopped wiping that very year, 1980. It's not like the appalling practice had been stopped for years or anything at that point.

I do have what I think is a fun story about Lucci/Liza if you've enough patience with me to hear it. I enjoy challenging AI chat. I've found it doesn't know very much about soaps. I have to be careful because it sometimes says it's upset & can't talk any more today. Who knew AI has thin skin?!! Anyway, I posed the question: What soap & character did Susan Lucci's daughter play? I was going for Liza Huber, Gwen in PSSN. It said, Susan Lucci's daughter Liza Colby is played by Jamie Luner. Well, that knocked me back! It knew "Liza". It just got the wrong one! So, I gave it all the correct info & wished it to have a nice day.

Thanks for the info. I literally was just passing along what a poster said. I do not have a dog in this fight. I wish them well whatever their circumstances are. As for my being in denial or crazy or a troll, today would be a great day to question what you may have heard. Let's chillax & have an excellent Hump Day!

I do not know. But, how do we know that really is Liza Huber & not an imposter?

In the 1990s I met Barbara Morgenroth online & we were good friends for several years. Then her life situation changed & she didn't come online daily anymore. She & Leonard Kantor (Is that right?) were the last HWs & they were desperate & they wrote incredible things. One was grave-robbing & a plague that got started from that. She was very interesting, very political, no longer interested in soaps, an observant Jew who kept kosher and one of the oddest people I've run across in my whole life. She had a quick temper. She held grudges. She could find offense to take in things where you'd just shake your head. You would never mistake her for a happy person.

Today someone on #SoapTwitter offered up supposed communication where Liza Huber said that she & her mother have been estranged for many years. A poster in my forum says that this is not true. His husband knows Liza's husband through philanthropy. He says she is actively involved in her grandchildren's lives. He also says that Liza spent a few weeks with her mother in Garden City in the spring of 2022. And he offers a picture of Susan playing with her grandchildren.

I doubt that she would. @Efulton You are most welcome. Michael Klinger who is on an AW forum on FB & who used to write AW fan fiction & I'm not sure if he still does, got in touch with me for help in getting the world out. So, I wrote it up & posted it on 5 FB forums, Spoutible, reddit, Post & Twitter. I also sent it to Errol & asked if it's the kind of thing he would do a story on. Maybe it will help them make their minimum!! Exciting that someone is trying to do it!!

@AbcNbc247 I don't have the video, just the still. I use it as a banner pic. Scott McKinsey directed the scene & he suggested they use a jab instead of the roundhouse they usually throw. @j swift In my opinion Ron definitely has misogyny in his wheelhouse but it's not like it's strange to have it in DAYS.

I imagine the blazers have a room of their own. They'd pretty much have to. I don't hate it. I just accept it.

Days: July 2023 Discussion Thread
I know, how that must have bugged her! My friend the Costume Designer says blazers are in all the stores now, or at least were a month ago when he said this, and all the actresses suddenly wanted blazers & Deidre has more selection than the stores do! 🤔🙄😲😉🤣 Then, he shared that Genie Francis will only wear black blazers. I think he was a little sad. Personally I thought she looked fabulous one day last month in just a soft harvest green blouse with pants & no jacket. But, it was a shock.

@AbcNbc247 Van Hansis, what an interesting idea! My perspective is different because I like Greg Rikaart & think he's a good actor & his sex appeal or eye candy factor doesn't matter to me. He & I are not remotely each other's type. But, Van is one of those actors I'd like to see working somewhere. I call today's show FIGHT DAY! Confrontations everywhere you turn. Johnny & Tripp. Wendy & Li. Trask & Shawn. Trask & Rafe. Gabi & Stefan. Loved it. Great dialog. Things that needed to be said. Also things that move story. Hallelujah for moving story! I put today in the plus category. The only thing that threw me was Harris's request to be committed!- Days: July 2023 Discussion Thread
So, we had a 2 Sonja/Sonya day! I put it in the + column. The last time we had good show sex was Challie & Will & Sonny when they were eating some foodstuff in bed. But. I was surprised that Dimitri & Leo got it on because of Leo's supposed BFF status with Gwen!! Leo Situations Ethics is his middle name Stark.- ALL: Most Memorable, Iconic Lines from Soaps
Is that like not being able to stand hearing even the beginning notes of Herb Alpert's "Rise"?- Potential SAG-AFTRA Strike & Daytime Soaps
Saw pix. ED was with Sara Bibel proudly holding a SAGAFTRA sign. New today about IF they go on strike Wed. Frankly it's common sense. They can't act & they can't promote acting projects. But, no, it does not apply to soap actors. https://www.thewrap.com/sag-aftra-strike-rules-publicists/?fbclid=IwAR3yg3ywbHQ6XIMfAL0AXZTMVr47sAQlbTj-9Ju9u0a-A_9-rqdDdGkiiA4 And, in other news there is a pic elsewhere of Fran Drescher in Italy with a Kardashian. Another legend. I promise to return to polite language. Soap opera fandom has been hard hit with deaths for about 3 years now. Bette Davis said, "Old age is not for sissies." I'd like to add: [!@#$%^&*] CANCER. [!@#$%^&*] Alzheimers. [!@#$%^&*] ALS. [!@#$%^&*] PD. What am I leaving off? Oh, and pardon my use of the vernacular but nothing else would do. Oh, right, the mechanical censor. Changing my profile banner pic. - Days: July 2023 Discussion Thread
