  1. When I do things like this is it surprising when people don't believe me? You're serious? Okay. Hell yeah. It is incredibly stupid not to believe someone because they post simple information that someone might not know, when OOPS, they did know it! OMG! How could they have posted that?!! Uh, dude, it's called communication. So sorry, kind sir, to tell you something that you knew. Please forgive my humanity. Let me be clear. If people do not wish to believe me, that is their thing & they are entitled to it. It is no skin off my back. Their loss. Now move along. Nothing to see here. I'm listening to China Beach. But, have a nice night.
  2. TYVM! I'll take a look. Just doubling back to say what an excellent resource this is! Thanks again. https://worldradiohistory.com/Broadcasting-Yearbook.htm
  3. 7 hours. 🤔🙄😲⏰😏😉
  4. Okay. I looked it up. I wasn't satisfied with my memory. It's a long passage to quote but it's fair usage. Michael Logan April 1, 2013 at 7:33 a.m. PT TV Guide Magazine: It's such a joy to have the old guard back together on GH these days. Jane, I saw you on Access Hollywood asking a great question: "Why did these people ever go away?" Elliot: I'll tell you why! It's a writing issue. Writers dry up. They can't think of a place to go with the older characters. It's easier for them to do an old story with a new character than do a new story with an old character. Geary: And let us not forget that writers get residuals for every new character they create as long as that character is on the air. Elliot: It's my belief that The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful are the highest-rated shows because they use the same people decade after decade. That's what this audience wants to see — their old characters in new situations. And that's what our current executive producer and head writer, Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati, are delivering. Geary: Usually, new producers and writers want to put their stamp on a show. They don't want to continue what's working. They want to reinvent the wheel. It's an ego thing. And once they've gotten rid of characters that were well known and deeply loved, they think they can create that same magic with new characters. Frank and Ron did the exact opposite and it saved our ass. Shriner: It's weird how it all changed overnight. Everybody was firing everybody. Brian fired [head writer] Bob Guza. Then [exec producer] Jill Phelps got fired. Then ABC fired Brian. "You're fired!" "No, you're fired!" It was crazy. But, then, out of the ashes came Frank and Ron. Geary: The timing was so right. 🤔🙄😲😏😉 I've been thinking about China Beach & I finally had a worthwhile thought. It's not streaming anywhere because of music rights! So I asked AI. The soundtrack for the TV show China Beach was called “China Beach TV Soundtrack: Music & Memories” and it contains some definitive examples of rock and soul classics from the '60s and early ‘70s. The definitive songs range from the McCoys ’ “Hang on Sloopy” and Big Brother & the Holding Company’s “Piece of My Heart” (which features the late Janis Joplin) to Diana Ross & the Supremes’ “Reflections” and the Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell duet "You’re All I Need to Get By."12 I hope that helps! I thanked it because it's very thin-skinned. Told it to have a nice day. It replied: You’re welcome! Have a great day! 😊
  5. Yes, thank you for the illustration. I get it now. I just thought D'oh 200 markets, okay. Then, there's a subset of that, an elite 25 or something, always aware of Seattle & it dropping AW when it did. Probably not 25.
  6. If we look at it a certain way, Alexis is Switzerland, Sam is England, Kristina is the good ole US OF A & that leaves Molly ... as Germany. Uh-oh.
  7. GH wins sets. GH wins sweeps. GH has a lot of vets who are well-treated. GH has 2 very popular romantic pairings. Frank is very good with hard things like budgets & sets & schedules for the whole troupe. Frank is not good with a big bunch of other stuff. I think it was Kin Shriner who told the story that Brian Frons fired Jill & then Brian Frons fired Guza. (And the reason he had not canceled GH was because he used to like Jill & Guza.) Then someone fired Frons! Shriner said it was like "You're fired!" "No, you're fired." Etc. Repeat. And it was crazy & scary & then out of nowhere, Frank was there & they were saved. And he wanted the vets! People don't like it but Frank has his own myth-arc.
  8. Right. In the dialog first day it was mentioned. Specifically she said that she had taped it every day for 15 years, until they moved it to streaming.
  9. @AbcNbc247 Thank you for this upload! This is an upload of Eddie's that someone must have taken at Paley Center with a recorder aimed at the screen. Therefore video & audio are both compromised. I believe this is the Randolph house where Pat has moved out & no one is living there. Michael is there going through things with some young female. At 25:34 the doorbell rings & Michael answers it & it's Aunt Liz. By 32:20 it's changed to John's office. At 44:00-ish Aunt Liz again, now with the twins & Russ, etc, & they invite her to stay for family supper. At 57:00-ish end credits roll & voice-over plugs Somerset coming up next. A scene with Louise with one of the plants but she doesn't know its name so it must be a new one. Molly & Darryl. Michael & Glenda. Rachel, Ada, Brooks, Rachel just finished a sculpture. Liz talks to John about his taking up so much of her time. Sharlene is worried about Russ finding out about her past because Willis is headed back to town. Emma tries to convince her to tell Russ herself. Another end credits & you can clearly see names plus this voice-over: "And on most of these stations, stay tuned for romance, suspense & drama on ... Somerset." This is the rings logo, btw. Pat & Michael have a talk. The twins want their parents back together. Pat brings up John still being legally married to Olive. (Olive is with Willis out of town but headed for Bay City.) And the scene I'm looking for with Michael & Liz is not here.
  10. That's not going to make any difference. Haley won't be back. If they were to write Molly out now it would be to give the audience a break after TempMolly, Mia. Of course, that is something that they could do. @carolineg I think you're completely right about dressing her younger.
  11. Yesterday's show, Thurs. 7-20. Molly#3 on her Day#2 & guess what? I did not hate her! That's incredible progress. Molly was at Sam's as you remember & Kristina showed up at the door. When she saw Molly she tried to flee, but Sam made her come in & set the two of them to talk to each other. Turns out it was a great idea. They had a meaningful conversation & indeed made up. They were going to share ice cream when we left them. So, I'm going to just take it day by day & see how I react.
  12. I just saw this & I was on the phone with one of my oldest friends & I just interrupted her with the sad news. Then we talked about his age & long life, etc. & then about how Lady Gaga thought he hung the moon which I always loved & she told me a story about when she & mutual friends of ours were living in Memphis & Tony Bennett was going to be doing a concert & she paid for tix for herself & these other 2 women so they would go. It was before he was really popular again & Nancy knew somehow that he was both wonderful & very cool, ahead of the rest of us. Lovely story. May light perpetual shine upon him & may angels guide him to his heavenly rest & may he be met by long-missed family & friends & beloved pets. https://soaphub.com/bold-beautiful/the-bold-and-the-beautiful-news/as-the-world-turns-stars-recall-tony-bennett-and-his-visit-to-oakdale/ Michael Swan, John Wesley Shipp & Scott Bryce remember ...
  13. Excellent! I'll be watching that later today! Oh boy.
  14. From Search For Tomorrow. (1977). Daytime TV Library Series No. 7. When the Daytime Emmys began there were 5 P&G soaps on the air - SFT, EON, GL, ATWT & AW. The other sponsors tried to shut P&G out of the nominations & they did so save one solitary nomination! 1st year, 1974 one nominee, Mary Stuart. 2nd year, 1975 zero nominees.
  15. Okay, thnx. I just had it in my head that there were 200 markets & everybody attempted to be in each market.
  16. I can see Cady as Skye, clear as day. Yes, would work. But, about Crystal, there is only one actress I love more than Crystal & that's Connie Ford. I'm curious. What writing was she lucky enough to get that you liked?
  17. Okay, I have returned to the subject of Irene Dailey's 1979 Best Actress Emmy. Someone's told me that they believe she won it for one scene, which could have been the way they did eligibility then, and she was talking to Michael Randolph & expressing that she did not feel valued or needed within the family. Does anyone remember this? And, hardest ask of all, has anyone seen any YT that early of Liz?
  18. Oh I'm sure he's gonna say Gina Tognoni, but don't tell me you look askance at Crystal? Really?!!
  19. Why do DAYS & AW have over 200 stations? 209, 206, 205, etc.
  20. People keep saying "Who would go to that pool?" and "Who would stay at that hotel?" and I keep saying, Who would live in that town?
  21. It's amazing to me. Someone should really do a photo collage of nothing but bad hair on beautiful Ari. He's very like several Episcopal priests I have known.
  22. Yeah, you're out of luck. However, if it ever does show up I think you'd find it compelling & quality. Apparently Robin Christopher insists that she's retired.
