GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
Well, YMMV but personally I love good smirk & you can count on some people to deliver it. Three of my favorite smirkers happen to be Maura West, Tamara Braun & Laura Wright. When you got it, sometimes you gotta flaunt it.

GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
It's worth pointing out that use of the actor's name is useful as ID but we must remember that they don't choose what & how they play a character. That is the responsiblity of the writers. And also SJB was Carly for 5 years, although they were memorable, and LW has now been Carly for 18 years. The underlying problems with Carly-Sonny-Jason have been going on for a long damn time. And also the two characters I see fans asking for the return of, the most, are Lucky & Lulu.

B&B: Popular Actress OUT!
I have asked & I'll hear if there is. Meanwhile here's an article that just barely touches on it & one picture of the two of them practically in a clutch. This article is early Feb. 2023 so that dates it for you. https://www.soapsindepth.com/posts/the-bold-the-beautiful/brooke-taylor-bbs-next-supercouple Some fans even suspect that maybe the friendship could turn into something more romantic for the leading ladies! “Who knows if it would go there or not,” Lang laughed. But in the meantime, both she and Allen are satisfied with where things stand with Brooke and Taylor. “When all of this happened, we finally saw each other as women instead of rivals,” said Allen, while Lang agreed that their characters “finally realized we have more in common than we ever thought.” Okay, the twitter poster @AUTigers4Ever posted lots under the #Braylor hashtag so like this: https://twitter.com/search?q=%40AUTigers4Ever %23Braylor&src=typed_query

Quite a few people claim instantaneous recognition of a Mulcahey B&B scene, too!

Kim Delaney in Big Trouble
She indeed did play Jackie Templeton in the last iteration of the character. Frank called her & got her out of retirement & she was involved in the story where it was revealed that she & Finn had sex the night before she married Gregory & so there was doubt as to whether Finn was Chase's father instead of brother.

I just like to warn people. In his case people knew that he actually did have the episodes so likely they felt safe trying to make the purchase. I think he was charging $200 per 50meg HD and he had two to "sell." So right there that is a lot for people to be scammed out of! OUCH. It's nice that I have some fans because I definitely also have my detractors. It's all okay.

I have been told that this is actually the former "Bandstand Mike". Because of his years of full episodes of GL this great show used to be the best represented on YT but then they were all zapped in a purge. And, if you ever see this person advertise Hard Drives full of GL episodes for sale, do not send them any money because they scammed people before & would again. Watch all you want but do not buy. At any rate I am delighted he has decided to re-upload. I've been enjoying GL again through this YT user. Such fun that we keep running into one another in thread after thread. 👌😆

GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
Gosh, none of this has anything at all to do with the topic, but I didn't start us down this path but I'm not above contributing. There's a story during this time period of Beth & her entourage at a restaurant where her treatment of the servers & even the restaurant owners is one of the worst examples I've ever read of star entitlement & treating ordinary people as if they were put on earth to serve the star. Truly appalling & belonging in some tome called Soap Opera Babylon or such. And, at the same time, I know someone personally, who was a journalist who thought of Beth as a friend & Beth stabbed them in the back.

Whatever. We don't recall this the same way at all, which is fine. It was a very screwed up time.

Well, in her defense, she was promised something that Pratt never even attempted to fulfill.

GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
Of all I have read about the network expansion I think this is the first time I've seen it expressed in terms of cutting costs. I mean the reason it was so popular was definitely because it allowed the network to get double the ad revenue they'd have gotten otherwise. And, taking one show & doubling it actually cost the show more in budget but it didn't cost as much as it would have to create a second show. I've got to think about this statement for awhile.

R.I.P.: Bill Hayes Has Died
God yes! I wish that Peacock would get this brilliant idea & take the Bill Bell years at DAYS & digitize them & stream them as this great experiment. Denise Alexander was known at that time as the most popular daytime "heroine" of all! She was the winner of all those soap mag polls. And, she & Julie began as best friends and ended up "frenemies". At this point in story Susan has figured out that Doug Williams is a con man & turned his attention off of her & onto Julie! She offered to pay Doug to break up Julie's then marriage. Classic soap devious vixen behavior!

ALL: Imposters/clones/impersonate
OMG, you've got me laughing! And, yes, Paul Rauch really fought HARD against the clone but it was a CBS exec who had this stupid idea so he lost royally & for his loss we ALL paid the price. Well, maybe it was good for Bethany Joie Lenz but it certainly was VERY BAD for everyone else!!!

GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
Patrick Mulcahy, various Mulcahey: AW, TEX, GL2x, SFT, LOV, GH, SB, B&B, A New Day in Eden & now another run at GH. 2 person scenes. Fathers & sons. Douglas Marland's only protege. Mulcahey & IMDb & Wiki & Errors Saturday, October 29, 2022 Earlier this year, in the twitterverse, Patrick Mulcahey told me about some writing he did at AW before they started writing TEXAS, and that it shows up exactly nowhere in any credits online! Further he spoke about working with either IMDb or Wikipedia to try to get his credits right on their pages. On one he finally just asked them to take the page down. On the other he just gave up trying to deal with them. The takeaway from this is that these easy online sources we have are fatally flawed! We are so lucky that we have all of the Internet at our disposal. No more learning the card catalog, the Dewey Decimal system, the periodicals index, etc. But we have to keep it in our minds that there are errors throughout. Soap Town USA. Archived from the original on September 10, 2012. Patrick Mulcahey is an American television writer who briefly attended Yale University. Among his accomplishments, Mulcahey wrote The Bold and the Beautiful's 5,000th episode. In a recent interview, he acknowledged his close friendships with CBS Daytime's Senior Vice President Barbara Bloom, Robert Guza Jr., Nancy Lee Grahn, and the late Douglas Marland. He described the working relationship between Wendy Riche (former Executive Producer of GH) and Guza Jr. as "oil and water", and speaks highly of her. He also spoke highly of former Guiding Light Head Writer, Nancy Curlee, calling her a "meticulous" writer whose presence is greatly missed on daytime television. He seemingly accused Gloria Monty of decimating General Hospital, and called Jackie Smith and John Conboy "clueless and comical". However, in a later interview with TV Guide (Canada) he clarified that he wasn't accusing Gloria Monty of decimating General Hospital. In fact, that opinion he stated was a "interpretation of something I said about GH, which I believe to be true — and that was that GH is very difficult to write because the generational structure of the show, with the exception of the Quartermaines, was decimated. By the time I got to GH, the Baldwins and all the rest of the families were gone. At least our families are still intact on The Bold and the Beautiful. But you know, Nelson, soaps are not about romance — they are about families. If two people fall in love, murder each other, or rob a bank, no one cares if no one is connected to those characters [and creates a fuss]. To me, that was something Monty didn’t care about, but at the same time, I wouldn’t say she destroyed the show in any sense. Obviously she gave it new life." Patrick Mulcahey @MulcaheyPatrick· So sad to hear of Jerry verDorn's passing. What a fine actor and a good guy. He never stopped thanking me for a special GL episode I wrote for him (Ross's Election Day dream), but I loved his work way back when Ross was with Vanessa, then Carrie, and then later, with Blake. From THE SURVIVAL OF SOAP OPERA: TRANSFORMATIONS FOR A NEW MEDIA ERA From PERSPECTIVE: WRITER PATRICK MULCAHEY ON CHANGES IN SOAP OPERA WRITING CONTRACTS (Based on an Interview by Giada da Ros) Patrick Mulcahey has written on GH, GL, LOV, SB, SFT, TEX and B&B When he first started out he worked for the Corringtons for SFT. Next he worked for Douglas Marland on GL. And, he literally means that he worked for the Headwriter. That's who hired him. And, that's who wrote him a check to pay him for his work. The HW had much more power and independence in the “good ole' days” compared to the more modern day soaps. He finds it to be a major defining difference in story-telling and creativity. That compares to each individual writer working for the show, hired by the show, chosen by the show, if necessary fired by the show, and regularly paid but by the show. That's how after the last Writer's Strike [2008] so many shows did away with Breakdown Writers. (Summary by me) From Sara Bibel "Farewell Springfield" "The brilliant Patrick Mulcahey episodes that inspired me to pursue a career in daytime." From an anniversary post celebrating the debut of Santa Barbara, by me As Patrick Mulcahey: "We, Gregor, are Santa Barbs from the planet Montecito. We are a kind and helpful people, whose mission is to bring beauty, goodness, unconventional sex, occasional amnesia, general improbability and, overall, a certain polish to your dreary planet,"!

GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
It was puzzling at the time & I think still is. OLTL strictly by the numbers was doing the best of the three! But, Frons began with a mandate to announce its cancellation & in his appalling way he decided to add AMC. He thought about also canning GH but decided not to because he liked Jill & Guza.

R.I.P.: Bill Hayes Has Died
When Twitter celebrated Bill's life the other day Amy Shaughnessy posted several times. She spent the day with Susan & they looked at all of the clips & photos & remembrances & it was fan appreciation at its finest. Amy is the daughter of the former writer Anne Schotte (SP?) & the director David Shaughnessy. That makes her Charles Shaughnessy's niece & she is like a niece to Susan.

R.I.P.: Bill Hayes Has Died
This is May 7, 1970. It's important because this is when Susan introduced Doug to Julie. So, in a way it is Day One of the Hayes&Hayes calendar! We should celebrate this day!
