  1. I was just having a little fun. Thinking about being a starving student before I even began to pay off my student loan debt! And making do. But, these people ought to be relatively prosperous!! In a way he reminded me of Roman. (Wayne)
  2. It's not a big thing but this is the second time you've indicated that Joss, feeling remorse, immediately broke up with Cam. And, that's not what happened. Joss saw Dex for an extremely long period of time before she finally spoke to Cameron. It is one thing the character is criticized for, which is fair & valid.
  3. Yes, too easily solved! She's been saying day in & day out that they have so much tough ahead of them, then they bite the bullet & tell little Eric & Sami (1) John's not their Dad, (2) the man they've called Mr. Patrick is their Dad and (3) now they have 2 Dads. Roman graciously tells John to take them up & tuck them back into bed. He can afford to be gracious as this is going to be the last time John will be present at bedtime. Then when John left, Roman made a nice speech telling Marlena that they are going to have to get to know each other again, that it's been 7 years & they've both been through so much & have changed. He says they have to find out if they still fit together like they used to & he tells her good night & goes to the other room. In a bit he finds her still in the living room, writing something. She hands him the page. He reads aloud, "Welcome Home!" Her turn to make a speech. He'd asked her what she needed to be happy & she'd not given him an answer. Now she has the answer. She needs him & only him. He says he wonders if she knows how much he loves her. She purrs, "Show me." POOF! That old cop & doc magic happens. Soap Opera Digest 9-10-85 "Why Some of Day of Our Lives's Best Loved Characters Have Vanished" by Ginger Myers & R.J. Johnson Missing Person Number Three: Julie Williams, a resident of Salem for 16 years. Last seen Aug. 1984, packing for a vacation. aka Susan Seaforth Hayes. We (she & her husband Doug) went on vacation & fell off the end of the earth. Julie had a long history on DAYS OF OUR LIVES & did just about as much as she could do. I don't hink age had much to do with my departure. I had 16 productive, happy years. But I was glad to see it end, so that I could go on to something else. I was still in contract negotiations on my last day. I'm now Joanna Manning on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. I'm happy to tell people they can still find me on another network. YOUNG & RESTLESS has a full spectrum of characters & ages. I appreciate the ingredients ... the quality of production, writing, the attitude of the cast and the network. It's all extremely positive and high class. Missing Person Number Four: Doug Williams, resident of Salem for 14 years. Last seen: April 1984, packing for vacation. aka Bill Hayes. After 14 years, I walked upstairs to pack & walked off the set with no good-byes. Producers and writers control the show. Actors do not. If I had been the producer or writer, I would have given Julie (his wife) and Doug a whopper of a storyline. They should have had a big exit. To send them upstairs packing is not wrapping up any storyline. It is jolting and unsatisfying to the audience. But times change & they seem to be going after new viewing markets.
  4. And if you've seen the pictures of the two cars .... MY GOD it is a miracle people came out of those cars alive! Haley Pullos's irresponsible actions & immature attitudes are truly appalling. I understand that the courts are so backed up, which is why she's still free, but the delay in justice is not doing her any good.
  5. The HW from 6/19/91 to 1/30/92 was Gene Palumbo. Romulus was also '92. RKK was revealed at Vivian's masquerade ball also in '92. Wayne played Roman this stint from '91-'94. Of course, we know Marlena is not actually 100% sure of her feelings. But, right now, she can't have John. So, is this "Love the one you're with"?
  6. You should bite your tongue! I think the actress who plays Charlotte is pretty talented. Violet needs to stay in Florida! Leo is very special. Of course, he actually is on the spectrum. Violet would never ever have a reel! Next year Charlotte will have one, from this year's story. That makes me wonder when reels are due to be submitted.
  7. Oh, yes, that makes more sense. I'm satisfied that Stacy can play Kristen & Susan but she has never gotten Sister Mary Moira's voice right. She just sounds like Susan, which is wrong. But, she hasn't gotten to play her but twice.
  8. And Penelope was killed when someone thought she was ... Susan? Then last year Susan was presumed dead for several months!
  9. Frankly I was just SHOCKED at the episode I just watched. I couldn't believe that Marlena all of a sudden, turned on a dime, said welcome home & you are all I need & show me you love me. WTF?!!! Obviously it's not going to be that simple but BOY did they tie it up in a bow in this episode!!!
  10. Agreeing with several ... although I had picked Cary Christopher to win. But I said at the time that there was no reason for Eden to withdraw. That was a ridiculous idea. And they all had substantial reels.
  11. Here's my related pet peeve. On ATWT Holden slept with Rose & didn't realize it wasn't Lily.
  12. Soap fans have been online talking since the 80s & so far no one's been reported dead from it. Or do you think that today is that much worse than it was in the past?
  13. Santa Barbara DID: Mason & Sonny Sprockett twins: Robert & Quinn Barr
  14. Yes, maturity & she's young. Good for you! 👌👏👏👏
  15. Derek? I think so. And we never knew if they were really clones or just doppelgangers. DAYS had Marlena & Samantha, played by the Hall twins. AMC had Adam & Stuart. GH had Ryan & Kevin. As I already said AW had Vicky & Marley. AMC had Cindy & ... ? DID: OLTL Viki & Nikki & Jean DID: AW Sharlene, Sharly & Kate AMC had a weird one with Dixie & Di.
  16. 12-12-91 Day 22 (1-18-24) Roman isn't on. Bo & Carly honeymooners. Jenn & Mrs. H. Chip & Julie have lines about the guy who sang "Davy Crockett". Jack & Jo. 12-13-91 Day 23 (1-19-24) At the airport home in Salem. John & Isabella. Roman & Marlena. They tell Eric & Sami that John isn't their Dad but Roman is. Marlena tells Roman all she needs is him & challenges him to show her that he loves her. They make love & sleep in the same bed.
  17. Grand is an American sitcom and soap opera parody that aired on NBC from January 18 to December 27, 1990. It was created by Michael Leeson and executive produced by Leeson, Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner. 2 seasons, 26 episodes where the last one was never aired. Grand revolved around three interrelated families from different social classes – the wealthy Weldons, the impoverished Pasettis, and the middle class Smithsons – who lived in the fictional rural town of Grand, Pennsylvania. The show was a satire that featured story arcs which carried through several episodes, and mocked soap opera conventions in the vein of Soap. Pamela Reed starred as Janice Pasetti, a former homecoming queen living in a trailer with her daughter Edda (Sara Rue), while working as a housekeeper for the Weldons, the wealthiest family in town. Harris Weldon (John Randolph) is the family's patriarch and owner of Grand Piano Works, a piano factory starting to fall on hard times due to foreign keyboard imports. Also living in the Weldon mansion were Harris' dimwitted son, Norris (Joel Murray) and his acerbic butler, Desmond (John Neville), whom Harris kept despite his acid tongue as he had once been responsible for saving his life. Janice also worked for Harris' niece Carol Ann Smithson (Bonnie Hunt), who lived a middle class life with her ambitious husband Tom (Michael McKean), who was always attempting to get an executive position at the factory. Janice also spent her time fending off the advances of Wayne Kazmurski (Andrew Lauer), a motorcycle cop. Grand ran for two shortened seasons in 1990, with thirteen episodes from January to April, and twelve more from October to December, with one left unaired. The first season follows Harris' attempts to secure a date to a ceremony honoring him at Carnegie Hall, Tom's attempts to hide from Carol Ann his teenaged son from a previous marriage, and Harris allowing Desmond to believe that he was actually Norris' father, although Harris knew it was not true. By the time production began on the first season finale, NBC had still not committed to another season. Believing the show would be cancelled, the finale was entitled "Blow Off," an apparent stab at NBC's indecision regarding the show. The episode concluded with the town of Grand being devastated by a tornado and the disappearance of the entire cast, save for Wayne. However, the show's ratings, finishing 15th among mid-season shows, proved high enough for NBC to renew the show and given the prized Thursday 9:30pm slot. But by the time executives made their decision, at least two cast members (Michael McKean and Andrew Lauer) and several members of the production had already committed to other projects. This took the show in a dramatically different direction, with the first episode dealing with what became of Janice's trailer rather than answering questions about the characters who had disappeared. The second episode wrote out Michael McKean's character offscreen, making him an illegal alien who had stolen $50,000 from a Texas Savings and Loan and used the tornado as a means to disappear when the FBI began to close in on him. Andrew Lauer's characters, along with all recurring cast members and their storylines (with the exception of Pamela's ex-husband Eddie, played by Ed Marinaro) were dropped with no explanation. The pseudo-soap opera format was then abandoned, followed by standard, stand-alone situation comedy episodes, and ratings steadily declined. The soap opera aspect was revived in the final four episodes, but instead of relatable storylines about class relations, the arcs were more outrageous and improbable, involving witchcraft, gangsters, a possible corporate takeover of the piano factory and Carol Ann's decision to adopt a teenager who was raised by wolves. The show was then cancelled, with its final episode left unaired. Cast and characters Pamela Reed as Janice Pasetti Michael McKean as Tom Smithson (s. 1) Bonnie Hunt as Carol Ann Weldon Smithson Andrew Lauer as Wayne Kazmurski (s. 1) John Neville as Desmond Joel Murray as Norris Weldon Sara Rue as Edda Pasetti and John Randolph as Harris Weldon The whole show is on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/@Grand1990NBCSitcom "If you're gonna play, play it grand!"
  18. Well, it was incredibly eventful!! So much stuff going on. At this point in time I am just thankful for the scab writing! It has made ALL the difference in watching the show!! Konstantin is the only false note on the show right now. His aggressiveness toward Steve was a new thing. I'm glad Maggie saw. I put him on par with Leo. They are the two most hated things on the show. I wanted to say about yesterday that both Tripp & Johnny were shown in their best lights. Turns out that the scabs can write romance, too! I forgot to say that Sheri Anderson created the Pawn. Also John Black.
  19. Well, sometimes I think that online we get to see the worst versions of people. To me, her behavior on UglyX was one of those worst version situations! By the way, today is Marcus Taggert MIA Day 132 by actual count on the calendar M-F.
  20. I like Seth. But I can't imagine if there's to be more. Now that he can't be Nikki's sponsor, how would he fit in. I couldn't believe that Lauren talked about Nikki's drinking to Jack & then that Nikki wasn't furious about it. Was it odd that Jack was just now telling Diane about his history with painkillers?!
  21. That night, at the Emmys, was the first night she was back, from being away when her mother died, so it was a strange & emotional time for her. But I thought she did a great job of holding it together & also that she looked like a million bucks. I agree about the category!
  22. And I find it hilarious that Dee hates when they have to!
  23. There were two things. She posted a picture of her holding out a big bunch of fan mail only she did it where all of these addresses were shown. People told her to delete the tweet & why but she refused to do so. When Victoria Grace had to be taken out of the Younger Perfomer category it left just Eden competing against two little boys. Some people posted saying how embarrassing they thought it was & she went off like a rocket & attacked random posters. The soap press wrote it that she defended herself from a troll. You can do a search & some articles will pop up.
  24. Another World had the Love/Hudson twins, Victoria & Marley, mother Donna Love, father Michael Hudson. Their parents were not together when they were born. Donna was drugged for the birth & didn't know she had twins. Her father Reginald Love gave Vicky to be adopted by the Carsons. Marley was brought up being told she was Donna's younger sister. Victoria found out about Marley & Donna & came to town to exact vengeance on Donna & Marley & to get any benefits she'd not had the kind of life Marley had. Two actresses won Emmys playing the double role. Four total actresses played them.
