  1. They didn't drop it. The decision to stay with Ruthie was arrived to after months of agonizing and was a lovely, if heartbreaking, end to the storyline.
  2. I was thinking the same thing! It's a little too much! LOL
  3. Could one of you kind souls upload 711-745 to the Vault? I wasn't fast enough to grab them off YouTube. It'd be much appreciated!

This breaks my heart. All that talent, the songs, the iconic career, the AIDS and gay rights support etc., and she was already relegated to "that old bitch". With this now... Jesus.
  5. Thank you so much for the 2000 and 2002 episodes! By the way, the second 2000 episode is actually July 26!
  6. I've been wondering if it was any good. I'll definitely check it out.
  7. Oh no, poor Ephram! I understand him, annoying as he can be. You reminded me to finish my rewatch of Season 1. I only ever saw the first two seasons, so eventually I'll get to "new" episodes. The season-long arc of Colin's coma and then tumultuous recovery is SUCH a great story, and quite unique to this genre. To think the WB/CW used to do shows like these. Compare it to RIVERDALE and it's like 😶 Looking forward to rewatching Marcia Cross' run on the show. I barely remember anything about it.
  8. Hahaha of course I knew! It was some week, with new Kylie Minogue AND Taylor Swift at the same time lol Say Something is really great. I liked it from the first listen but it grows on you and now... I can't get it out of my head. (sorry!). I need the album NOW.
  9. Did I mention how much I adore Effy? For someone so little focused on, she's GREAT. The actress has a lot to do with it. Effy: My art course work. It's on the subject of emotion and you seem quite... emotional. So you can do it for me. Sid: And? Effy: Oh, for chrissake. I'll sort out your [!@#$%^&*] soap opera. Sid: You will?! Effy: Just this once. It really did! It's kinda crazy when you think about it. But not surprising considering how well acted it is. It's one of those shows like Oz or GOT able to create long-lasting stars. I can totally see how I would be in love with Tony if I had seen this as a teenager first! But I suppose the discovery of this is the point. When you watch for the first time in your 30s, however, you can definitely see the issues from the beginning, but thankfully the show does too.
  10. Watch The Doctors will be posting the 1973, 1974, and 1975 episodes on Saturday, August 01.
  11. My God, this is me trying is SO good.
  12. My faves on this first listen are: cardigan, exile (goosebumps!), august, this is me trying, illicit affairs.
  13. I've only listened to cardigan and omg it's AMAZING.
  14. This is a great little article on folklore that sums up/articulates what I've been thinking very nicely. I'm so excited to listen tomorrow! Not sure if I'll start with Cardigan first and then wait a little or just dive right in.
  15. I do feel sorry for Cruel Summer, it deserves much more than what it's gotten so far. Hopefully it'll have its time to shine. I was wondering a few days ago when/if Taylor would start to transition back to her country days. This may have been something she wanted to try out. I wonder if this is a change like that -- less pop, more country/folk/indie whatever -- or if we'll still get a lot of pop stuff. She still worked with Antonoff after all. I can't believe you know all that.

Last fall, I listened to Bedtime Stories for the first time ever. The only song I think I had heard before was Secret (it sounded familiar) but essentially it was a brand new experience. I was prepared for the different genre/flavor and really fell in love with the album. Survival, Secret, Human Nature, Love Tried To Welcome Me, Sanctuary, Bedtime Story, and Take a Bow are absolute gems. I adore them. I listened to Take a Bow like 75 times in a row. Wonderful, addictive work. I don't think it'll ever rank the highest for me personally but still, loved it. Recently I got around to Erotica for the first time. This one was 100% new to me. It's still too early for an opinion but it is certainly different and I appreciate the inventiveness. I love Deeper and Deeper and Rain and am OBSESSED with Erotica. What a great first single. So far, Bad Girl, Waiting, Thief of Hearts, and Words are also standouts. Let's see how it develops. After this, I just have the Something to Remember collection to listen to... again, other than cover versions of You'll See, I haven't heard the new songs or stuff like This Used to Be My Playground.
  17. Makes sense to me. Everything else was canceled, why not focus on the next project?
  18. KYLIE'S BACK! With long-time collaborators (and pop geniuses Stannard and Howe)
  19. I went looking for Kylie Minogue's new song and ended up with a whole new album by Taylor Swift! It's not even a year since her last one. It's pretty clear this album wouldn't exist were it not for quarantine. I'm just happy it's not years before the next album (with the tour originally happening this summer and then postponed, it started to look like there wouldn't be a new album AT LEAST until late 2021, probably 2022) and that we don't have that four-month wait/build-up, which does drive me crazy a little. I'm super thrilled to hear what it's all about. It'll be hilarious if she goes to #1 with an album no one knows about lol
  20. KYLIE IS BACK!!! First single, Say Something, out in two days, and she really could NOT have picked a better album title or cover: So excited to hear what she has in store for us!
  21. SKINS. Making my way through Season 2. Sid telling Tony in the club about his father's death was STUNNING. Beyond words. I cried so much. It's wonderful what they've been doing with Tony's redemption. He was such a conniving little sociopath and now he's been made to suffer. I really love Sid, Chris, Cassie, and Michelle. I don't feel like they're giving Maxxie and Anwar proper time or development. The Season 2 opener came close for Maxxie but still. I am embarrassed to admit how long it took me to realize I was watching younger Gendry and Gilly!
  22. The Nathan situation certainly turned a somewhat repressed Olivia harder and more reserved. The main issue was that she was married to Shemar Moore with his megaton popularity. Take the Callie story for example: After Nathan's dangerous cheating, it's certainly understandable why Olivia would overreact. But the show did not want Malcolm to come off badly AT ALL and therefore kept throwing Olivia under the bus for him. Over and over again.
  23. Mike, thank you for sharing your story, and I'm sorry you went through those painful experiences. Shameful.
