  1. Y'all probably saw/discussed this when it happened, but I never knew about this Ramona Singer... performance... until now and... oh boy.
  2. I thought perhaps I was the only one but I, too, felt the Claudia stuff destroyed the character. And it's a big shame considering some careful writing and good acting had turned what was a too obvious retconned character into something that worked and I wanted to see more of. Ah that would make sense considering he had no other credits following KL (except the miniseries). I'm sure he could've booked something if he wanted to LOL
  3. The last three episodes, especially the finale, are quite something. They must be kidding me with Gary and Kate, right? I actually see chemistry but they started this whole thing less than an episode after Gary and Val remarried! Wherever I thought this Brian Johnston thing was going, it was not sex tapes and him disappearing and Linda setting up Paige to be suspected. Is this an indication that Linda's losing it? Haven't we seen this sort of thing with Jill before? Honestly, Galveston being revealed as Steve's father and it turning out to mean almost nothing to Greg or Steve is such a waste of time. They even smiled. Also, I REALLY don't know how I feel about Claudia setting up Steve with a gun. Even if she didn't raise him, he is her son! Not even Abby Ewing would do something like this to her kids. It pushes Claudia into outright villain territory. And it seems like Steve may have been shot? It's a good cliffhanger (one of four!) but not sure how I feel about Claudia after this. Perhaps the most resonating stuff was Nick abandoning Anne and Phillips' wonderful work as Anne has now run out of options, family, and friends. I don't necessarily buy her descent into homelessness (after all, wasn't she drawing a great salary as a member of the foundation?) but I love how her pride is just as much responsible as the circumstances for where she ends up. And that shot of Anne reflected on the glass in front of a ritzy dress she probably would've worn as she breaks down is brilliant. Looks like we've said goodbye to Michael! Wow. 12 years. That's sad, but I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. The most bizarre stuff happens with Karen. One did get the sense of impending doom when Karen and Val drove off to go shopping, so you knew something was about to happen, but being shot with a paintball gun? Karen going all vigilante and getting into the car to chase the thugs? Their car getting hit by a truck? Jason turning out to be in the back seat?! Jesus. Why did it have to be paintball? Maybe one of Jason's friends was driving carelessly and almost hit Meg, Bobby, or Betsy. I would buy Karen going after them more if that were the case (but barely). Purely in shock-value terms, Karen discovering Jason in the back of the car is a great twist, but boy the way we got there... And just don't tell me they may kill off both Jason and Steve. AFAIK, Latham and Lechowick were the showrunners for Season 12. She probably did loathe another Val-is-crazy story. Thanks for the wishes!
  4. Super cute!

I'm really happy for both Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish. Staying #1 for 19 weeks is phenomenal. But also stubbornly clinging to #2 (returning to it time after time after being pushed down a slot by a new song for a week or so) and then taking the #1 spot after months is a testament to just what a huge hit Bad Guy is.
  6. OK, that definitely would explain how sudden it all was!
  7. Wow. This is wonderful.
  8. Val's brain virus is over so suddenly, you have to wonder if they couldn't wait. Gary is told she's fine and that's it. I don't 100% believe it but it leads to (at least) two episodes of Val being herself and some wonderful Gary/Val moments, so I won't complain. The Linda/Paige rivalry has developed into a great focal point for the series. Never a dull moment with those two. Also, in case I haven't said it, while I miss Lotus Point, the Sumner Group is such a great business setting by now, with tons of really fun side characters and stories. Funny how both DALLAS and KNOTS did "trapped in.." scenarios for their 300th episodes. KNOTS' of course pretty much involves the entire cast and not the two they think are the most important. I squealed when they started playing the theme song as Gary and Val decided to just get married. My babies are finally back together! Yay!
  9. OK, I like him, but he needs to take a seat. The original was a straight-up soap opera since at least Season 3 too.
  10. And enjoying it very much! I downloaded the episodes from YouTube a while ago.
  11. One of THE most heartbreaking Y&R scenes is finally back on YouTube!
  12. I have really enjoyed Stefano's amnesia storyline and his friendship with Marlena developing. The beats were all played and well done, and the Hall/Mascolo chemistry is great. Mascolo also turned in a marvelous performance: Basically playing a different character and making him interesting, and as he at times regained memories/his self, merging the two characters brilliantly and effortlessly. You don't see acting like this on soaps anymore. Now that he's regained his memory and lying to Marlena, there was a brilliant moment where she turned down his dinner invitation so she can be with John and Mascolo managed to showcase psychotic anger in the eyes but without being too obvious about it. Marvelous work.
  13. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL he looks like the result of those baby filters.
  14. Interesting approach to a first "teaser" video
  15. Welp. I just finished Season 8. I never expected to be saying this, but the second half of the season picked up exponentially and gave a satisfying ending to the All Out War arc. A lot of great twists, cliffhangers, Dwight remained alive, and they made Carl's death serve a purpose. I am actually looking forward to watching Season 9. They basically wiped the narrative slate clean with the end of Season 8, so there is hope. Then again, Rick will be gone soon, so I don't know.... It was also a real treat that we saw Rick clean again.
  16. Those are exactly the things I'm hoping for too. If there's better quality control, lots of real NYC locations, and outrageous costuming, it'll go a long way towards working. Yep. Funnily enough, just a couple weeks ago I was thinking how more modern technology would affect/influence the show if it were done today. Guess we're about to find out! I don't see why some of them wouldn't.
  17. Gossip Girl, with a new cast, is returning for 10 episodes. I'm all for new soap operas and I hope they handle this better.
  18. "Kell-Me" I do like that selfish little bitch though 😂 I recall this happening at Melrose but certainly not with the regularity it occurs on BH! In fact, their production values are damn near neglectful at times. Dylan was supposed to be urinating in the forest but you could very clearly see his pants were zipped and he was pretending to be holding his d!ck! I mean, why would you allow that to air?!
  19. To think that a show 12 seasons and nearly 300 episodes into its run could pull off an episode like "An American Hero" is quite surprising. Everything from Paige imagining the various ways she should've reacted to Linda/Greg (which is one of those great slice-of-life Knots moments) to the playfully done hatred between Claudia and Anne was wonderful. That this soap opera would care about making a point about corporate life and sucking up (through Bob and Mort) is also appreciated. I am loving how the Steve story is developing. I can't tell if his teaming up with Linda is real or a plan. The ending with Jason's essay is a bit schmaltzy, but the actors have earned it. And, then, WHAM! they hit you with the card remembering Steve Shaw. I wonder how, if at all, the show will address this.
  20. Meanwhile, is there even one episode of this show that doesn't involve the boom mic coming into frame?
  21. Well! Am I sensing a cult storyline happening?
  22. I'm annoyed at how Chase just disappeared around March 1991. He was a big supporting player in the Kimble story, yet suddenly he's nowhere to be found, didn't even show up at the trial, and was only mentioned once out of necessity. What happened? Was the actor not available?
  23. Hi all, If there is anyone who knows where episodes are being uploaded (or earlier ones if available), PLEASE pm when you get the chance. Thanks!
  24. Yes, I will never understand why anyone, anywhere, thought 90-minute episodes were a good idea or would ever work.
  25. Halfway through 1991. I love every. single. storyline happening. The David Kimble story has been phenomenal. Of course, I adore Tricia Cast beyond words, so it wasn't a big sell for me (I broke into tears when she had to walk away from Phillip and show up in court). Her shooting David, psych hospitalization, and trial was three months of breathless, amazing entertainment. Really loved the jury scenes and taking their time to show that side of things. I did find David's plastic surgery scenes ridiculous -- perhaps a step too far, but considering his psychotic state of mind, I suppose we can excuse them. And the reveal of his face was HARROWING. I knew what was coming, but didn't know the details of his butchered face other than "Killer", so it was terrifying. Honestly, I almost threw up. I cannot imagine any other show pulling this off. I just love how 15 year old Victoria is nuking Victor and Ashley's lives and they don't even realize. Well, Ashley is, but there's not much she's been able to do yet. Nikki's drinking is also a lot of fun; I love the complexity of her secretly dealing with pain while addressing various other storylines. It was such an honor to watch Dru's first big story and see her flourish. I cried so much at her ballet recital. Beautifully done. I do wonder how she'll get over Nathan, considering she's ignored many, many, many signs it's not happening. I guess it'll help she and Neil have lots of chemistry So great to also enjoy the baby switch story, complete with temp recast. I am getting a little distracted by Peter Barton's ridiculous, ever-changing hairstyles. Sheila and Scott have just gotten married. LOVED Sheila turning triumphantly to look at Lauren, who witnessed it all. Perhaps it's getting a bit lost in the awesomeness that is Kimberlin Brown, but a great part of the story is Paul and Lauren's strong, loving connection. Another tearjerker was when Lauren told him she wishes her baby was his. Traci's more confident than ever -- it was really amusing to watch her go against Cassandra, and now this thing with Hilary Lancaster. Not sure where this is going, if anywhere, but interested to follow it.
