B&B November 2022 Discussion Thread
Again, why are these thirty-something year old kids trying to play The Parent Trap with their parents? It's old at this point. You mean to tell me that Steffy, with that fine a** husband, is worried about her parents reuniting? Or even Thomas? Thomas should literally be what Ridge used to be at the inception of the show--a male wh*re bedding every woman with a pulse. And Taylor (along with Brooke) stays on the hamster wheel or yearning for Ridge. I really wish that they'd make these 50-year-old give Ridge their a**es to kiss and move along. Let him be lonely at this point.

Joe was too much of a brute for me, and I always felt that went against who Paulina was attracted to. She always took me as the type to hate bossy men because we saw her take issue to being bossed around by Jake when he tried to do so. One moment that sticks out to me is during the last month of the show and Paulina was claiming she killed Grant to protect Joe, and Joe responded so harshly by telling her to "shut up." In that moment, I wanted Paulina to throw Joe under the bus (even though he wasn't the killer) and let him take the wrap. Going back and rewatching a lot of soaps, I find myself wincing at a lot of these ultra-masculine characters on a platform that is and has always been targeted to women. I don't know who found these characters appealing or thought they'd be good romantic leads but they weren't.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Time to recast Potomac. The show is getting too heinous for my liking. The best seasons of this show will always be seasons 2-4. Seasons 5-7 seem to be a dark era and I am not here for it at all. And the gymnastics all these women did tonight was appalling. One, Candiace's slick comment about hitting people, yet consuming a forest of Kleenex over Monique tugging her skull, boggles me. Then her crying about people needing to use their words as if words don't hold weight either. She's a moron. Two, Robyn and Gizelle. How they don't see that this is a similar matter to season 5 incident is sad. Just shows how stupid and dense they are. At least Robyn slipped up and came clean that she sided with Mia b/c she hates Wendy. Lastly, Mia gotta go. She reminds me of Candiace with the "choose a side" crap. Karen has firmly said both women were wrong and she's not bending.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
It is time for the GEBs to state that they didn't give a sh*t about Candiace and that they only sided with her to get Monique off the show. Also, while I am team Wendy, I don't pity her much either. Why? Because she was acting aloof with the Monique situation and now she sees how it feels to be in that situation and how easily you can lose your cool. Again, all the women were hypocrites minus Ashley and Karen.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
All I have to say is that there was so much hypocrisy tonight... Bring Monique back! She literally has been vindicated after these past 2 seasons. Karen and Ashley remained to be the most consistent in all these violent situation--scolding all parties for allowing it to go too far.

The Media/Journalism Thread
I am gonna really miss Twitter. I am praying that something saves it in the 11th hour, however, I am sick of getting my hopes up about stuff like this. I know Mark Zuckerberg is probably giddy as this will cause a huge surge to IG and FB until the next hot platform emerges. I wouldn't be surprised if a surge occurs on all forums (too) for the time being.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Honestly, I get this feeling in my gut that Candiace is leaving after this season. She and Broke Chris keep being terrors on social media, and she has been warned for 3 seasons about her social media antics. Plus, Andy can't stand her. He doesn't even hide his disdain for her. I think we are stuck with Wendy for about another season even though these women are trying to ice her out. Mia is up in the air, IMO. Fans might be so repulsed by her actions in this upcoming episode that they might get rid of her. This is why I will always say Gizelle is a short-sighted idiot. The Karen/Gizelle/Robyn/Ashley/Monique dynamic was GOLDEN. Adding Candiace (her 1st season) elevated the show even more. It is when Gizelle started doing all them backstage antics to undermine Monique and Karen is what has caused this show to start taking a dip and mess up the dynamics. Same thing happened with Dallas. And Beverly Hills. And NYC. These women need to learn to stop playing casting director, accept when the chemistry is good, and stop going below the belt.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
What I don't get is Charrisse complaining about the vacation house that Bravo picked out for them all. If you are trying to regain a spot on the show you were fired from, the least you could do is feign excitement for your sleeping arrangements. They fact that she was going to go to a hotel because she didn't have her own bathroom was stupid. At this point, Bravo needs to let the women arrange their own sleeping arrangements on these shows or scrap the repetitive plot about them bitching about bedrooms. It's tired. It's old. It's low-hanging fruit at this point. Majority of the population would kill to vacation in a lot of the homes that these ladies get to rest their heads. And while I still enjoy Potomac, the missing factor (IMO) is Monique. Say what you want, Monique brought an energy to this show that cannot be duplicated. She was the one stable housewife on the show that we knew would provide us wealth but in a subtle way. Now, the cast is loaded with a bunch of posers living off them "little Bravo checks" as Monique would say. Also, Monique meshed well with the group. At her height, she was good with Ashley, Karen, and Candiace. She had chemistry with those women while being the perfect foil for the GEBs. I do think the show is about to possibly take a dark turn next week with Mia assaulting Wendy. Given what Wendy has said in interviews, the GEBs are going to possibly be in favor of Mia assaulting Wendy, which will make them hypocrites and reopen the entire assault of season 5. Yet again, the albatross of Monique will continue to dangle over this show. Monique and LVP are the two housewives that left the show on their own terms and still have a presence on the show despite wanting anything to do with it. The power these women possess...

Neighbours: Discussion Thread
I happy for Neighbours! I hope this move pans out to be successful and opens the door for all the other soaps worldwide in case they need a new home. That aside, I hope with the shift to streaming that Neighbours starts to really tell daring stories as they don't have to answer to a network restricting what they can and cannot show. At this point, I say go all out.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Did they?! Especially after how tragic and emotional her death was?! I have go back and rewatch that era to see this. Just abhorrent. I feel like they are trying to go for dark comedy but it does not hit in this moment at all. It was a young girl that was killed horrifically and we're supposed to giggle at her ashes going in someone's face? I think not. It just confirms how little the writers themselves thought of the character. Shock value ain't always good.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
One, that is distasteful. Two, it is heinous. If Liv is supposed to be this "beloved" character, why dishonor her by having her ashes land in her beau's mouth? I don't find that comedic at all. It's horrifying. Bad call by the writers. Thank God they didn't have this happen to Victoria when she was scattering Annie's ashes awhile back.

Most Memorable Scenes by Black Actors On Soaps
The scene where Dru and Olivia (and Julia, Nate's nanny and honorary Barber sister in my mind) went to task on Nathan. Epic scene. I wish that it would pop up on YouTube again.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I am going to be emotional watching this one. Kathy Hays/Kim was one of my favorite daytime dames. She exuded the energy that reminded me so much of my grandmother--loveable yet no nonsense. It was be the icing on the cake if Alan was to pop a surprise in there in the form of Julianne Moore. I know that won't happen, but if it did, I wouldn't be surprised as Julianne is such a class act and clearly had love for Kathy.

She went to HR b/c Candiace was unraveling and asked to get her some therapy.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Candiace isn't a "wordsmith." She just goes for low-hanging fruit. I hate how people try and put her on the tier of Kenya, Nene, Mariah (of M2M), or even Karen. They are clever with their shade and they don't have to go for the jugular. Candiace is just an uncultured swine. And I think Gizzard is smarter than Rinna. Rinna kept harping about what she wanted the story to be on camera. Gizzard ingeniously plants the seed and everyone else keeps talking about it. In this case, that would be Candiace (herself) and Ashley.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
That's what I am saying. All these instances where she sat back and watched Gizzy attack other marriages, people she said were her friends, yet she expected to be exempt? Girl, get a grip. I just find Candiace to be draining at this point. The writing was on the wall at the last reunion that you were going to be the target. Why not pick up on that? Candiace's problem is that she touts to be so intelligent when she really isn't--at least not emotionally intelligent. Ashley laid the bait out for her to speak on Karen's marriage and she took it like an idiot. Ashley was doing that to further isolate Candiace. This will come up at the reunion when they are addressing marriages, and Karen will be in the right to just sit back and watch them maul Candiace.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Can we just get rid of this one? She always takes it too far.- Degrassi: The Next Generation
Lowkey, they need to cease allowing all of these big media conglomerates to merge. It truly does a disservice to everyone and ruins the brand.- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
It is simple what happened to this show--they've been trying to keep up with EE and Corrie with the big stunts over the top characters and stories. What drew me into ED (at the start of the King family era) was the simplicity of this little village and all its eccentric characters that would occasionally have high stakes moments--moments that actually made sense. Nowadays, there aren't even high stakes anymore. They just tell stories for shock value back to back with no real payoff. Again, I lost interest in the show when Ashley died of Alzheimers. That was the last beautifully told story on this show. And I felt he (along with Diane) was the piece of heart this show had. I'd peep in occasionally for Diane and Robert, but once they sent Robert to jail, I was really disinterested. - Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
