Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Agreed. IMO, OC should've did what RHONY is about to do--a total reboot. Bravo needs to stop being fearful about reboots. It worked wonders for Miami. I am pretty certain NY is going to be a good reboot. A lot of these shows need to be rebooted. Many of these women are way past their expiration date.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Speaking of Jersey, AllAboutTRH spills everything on their podcast about the reunion. https://www.allabouttrh.com/2023/04/21/exclusive-tea-on-everything-that-happened-at-the-rhonj-reunion-taping/ Apparently, much didn't get covered b/c Tre and Melissa cursed each other out the entire reunion. The husbands (minus Paulie, Bill, and Nate) had an axe to grind with Louis with all these conspiracies, which were obviously an attempt to buy them all another season. Honestly, Bravo has to retool the show after this reunion. Either Tre or the Gorgas must go to save this show... and the audience stands firm that the Gorgas need go! They've been carried long enough.

Agreed. I've always said that they should've spun Leah and Ebony off to the new RHONY. While I don't like Leah, she serves as a good villain (at this point).

ATWT: Elizabeth Hubbard Dies at 89
No!!!! I just peeked on my social media and this is the first thing to pop up. This is a horrible year for P&G soap fans. I am still recovering from losing Kathy Hays. Ugh. This ruined my day.

Tell me about it! I used to love this intro and theme, and I remember people having a meltdown over this. Now I bet those same folks would take those complaints back.

Charachters from One Soap that would Also Fit in on Another
She did. If I am not mistaken, there was a brief exchange with her and Vicky, and Lila mentioning shopping in Oakdale or some mess.

Y&R 50th party for cast, crew, alumni
OK. I kind of figured it was Paul being facetious. 😂 I never got why Chris Engen was demonized for not wanting to do the scene with Rafe--and this is coming from someone who is part of the LGBTQ community. It just never made any sense to make Adam "insta-gay" and then drop it. It has never been addressed again and all things tied to Rafe (Estella included) were ushered off the screen and never mentioned again.

What has Alex Donnelly done? And I've always wondered what is the true story surrounding Chris Engen.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Marysol pronouncing herself as the wittiest person on the cast was absurd. It is painfully obvious that Marysol hires someone to write her "funny" lines (Ana confirmed this). And even those lines aren't funny. I'm sick of Marysol and that damn cup and thinking being a lush is cute. It isn't. Mama Elsa was funny. Marysol wasn't. She was whiny at best. Alexia is horrendous. I've never seen a housewife fall from grace as she did. I wish Lisa would've reached across and popped her when Alexia did that dig against her. But this should be a sign that Alexia is friends with no one. Much like Marysol, Alexia wreaks desperation and wants to be famous. I ignore Larsa as she has no credibility. Never has. Never will. I just hate that Kiki is under the spell of these three witches, who have clearly promised her something.

And Kim Zimmer didn't change the line?! As vocal as she is? I guess she wasn't on point that day. I do care about soaps... at least what they used to be. It was my dream for the longest to be a head writer of Guiding Light and As the World Turns and restore them back to normalcy but that dream is nuked. Overall, it just pains me about what I read even about the remaining the 4 and how these shows are still be ran by washed-up hacks, but whatever. They cannot be repaired at this point. I do give Ron one positive in that he does bring legacy characters out of the woodwork even though he ends up having them do wacky sh*t before casting them aside.

Kudos to Liz Hubbard for catching that and making the change. This is why continuity writers are so important on these shows. That aside, I never got how a head writer could resume the role and not do research on the show beforehand. Personally, I'd find the research portion of taking on this role to be fun--reading the show's history, reading bibles, questioning the veterans--that all would be fun to me.

Agreed. I've said countless times that all the stunt casting the show did in its final years should've simply placed those actors in legacy roles, which would've endeared us to the characters and kept those actors around longer. I've always wanted to ask the vets on the board if it is true that when a head writer creates a new character, do they get some kind of residual check if the character last eons? I remember someone saying that on SOC (when I used to post there eons ago), and I found that to be farfetched; however, if true, it'd explain why all these soaps writers prefer creating all these pointless characters instead of digging in the rich annals of these shows.

Why didn't the show ever bring back Bianca? I always felt that the show was so dumb in not bringing back a plethora of characters that were a blank slate that could've resumed the role that many of the created characters in later years filled. But back to Bianca should've been brought back around the time they brought Sierra back under Hogan Sheffer. It would've given Lucinda even more, and I would've loved to have seen Lucinda have that one daughter that wasn't righteous and was a bulldozer in business.

Destructive Couple Pairings on Soaps
I can say for me that Jack's pairing with Katie/Janet were destructive as it was two final opportunities to once again make Carly the town pariah, which had grew old after Jack's stint with Julia Larrabee. I grew sick and tired of watching Katie and Janet being propped up while Carly had to sulk and later become a drunk over it. It was also stupid as it caused the writers to toss Carly into orbits with characters she'd never be around (Sam) or outgrew (Craig). I also felt it trickled down to Carly getting into a pairing with Holden, which I wasn't the biggest fan of as it ruined Carly's one friendship in town--the one with Lily. I think the writers thought that on paper a Katie/Carly/Jack triangle would be epic (due to the long history of Katie/Carly), but it didn't give as they thought it would. And we all know that Janet was only forced on us as Jean Passanante stated she was based on her (in other words, she was living out her fantasy). Janet only proved to be useful in the end when it was apparent that she had chemistry with Dusty. I didn't mind Carl/Rachel... I actually grew to love them; however, I can admit that the pairing destroyed all the Cory children minus Paulina. Amanda and Matthew were doing stuff way out of character--digressing and doing sh*t that young characters on soaps would do, which is trying to break up their mother's new marriage. It grew old and took away from Amanda and Matthew's personal stories. And Iris caught it the worst as she was jailed over trying to bust up the union. I always felt that getting rid of Iris was the first step in AW going down the tubes. Iris had too much story left to tell. I didn't mind John/Felicia either as it provided material to Sharlene/John/Felicia, who it was painfully obvious the writers were waning on them and were borderline about to throw them into the "talk-to" roles. It did provide an EMMY worthy performance from Anna Holbrook. I just hate the outcome which led to John and Sharlene being phased out. Now Jake/Vicky getting back together grossed me out. Especially, after we saw Vicky do her darnest to decimate Jake for years after he raped Marley. I always felt they should've left them in the friend zone. Jake should've either been put back in Paulina's orbit or they should've trekked ahead with Jake/Amanda. I feel like Vicky (as a character) continuously lost edge year after year once they declawed her and made her the heroine.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Marysol is the cancer of this group. I noticed it in this episode. Everything she says, Larsa, Kiki, and Alexia follow in lockstep, which is sad for someone that did nothing but cried the initial run. I'm to the point where I want Lea to return to rattle Marysol's cage again. I like Adriana but she was a moron for making that comparison and not simply saying "sorry" after realizing she was wrong. And I am NOT here for her sobbing and whining b/c she does not have the financial backing of a rich man. She sounded like a mess about that crap. You are a grown-ass woman. Establish your stability. Do you not see the mess Lisa is currently in? Furthermore, her whining about them not showing up at her video premiere was dumb. Be happy with the women that showed up and move on. Alexia is a beta that presents herself as an alpha. Her following Marysol around like a puppy irks my nerves. Lastly, I am not surprised Marina turned on Lisa. I am pretty certain that Lenny threatened to no longer take care of her and his father if she kept siding with Lisa.

Nick can die. The character has had no progression in decades and basically serves as a "stud" to breed ingenues with at this time. He can go.

A well-plotted serial killer story line where all of these (minus Billy as I have a soft spot for the character) characters died would probably get me to tune again again. Thanks! But it is good that he has moved on to a more lucrative industry.

Oh, OK! Makes sense. Did you work in the industry to if you don't mind me asking? He needs to let it go. The time he spends bitching about being on Y&R, he could've landed an acting gig elsewhere--Lifetime, Hallmark, UP... somewhere! It is enough work out here for him to get something.
