  1. Meg Myles played Mavis Stone on SFT. Alice Hirson was Maevis Anderson (Miss Ellie's bestie) on Dallas.
  2. Ted Danson Somerset Dr Larsen Somerset Jerry Kane temp replacement for James O'Sullivan
  3. Stephen Yates went on to play Jamie on AW for 2 years and his last IMDB entry is 1992. After that???
  4. Requests Diane Kagan Brett Stimely Elizabeth Kemp Susan Adams
  5. Unfortunately Fishman as an adult actor had zero comedic chops. There's no need for DJ to be around or his dull daughter. There are too many characters as it is. Just have DJ and family move away. The sassy Christian wife was a poorly conceived character also.
  6. It's puzzling that GL had trouble casting the role of Hope as she was an important part of continuing the Bauer legacy and at that time GL needed younger characters to keep with the times, so Hope was a natural to take center stage. ATWT aged up Dee and Annie Stewart and quite successfully and SFT scored with Meg Bennett as Liza. Here's a shot of Robin as Hope

  9. Also in 74 Leslie got the lead in a CBS sitcom pilot 'Another April' but that too failed to sell. By 77 she was ready to go back to daytime.

  11. Neal was introduced at the tail end of the previous regime and when Whitesell and DePriest arrived they dropped him for a more 'attractive' brother, probably as soon as his contract cycle allowed. I'm sure Lupone was a fine actor but to be cast as a leading man twice (also Tom Bergman on SFT) seemed an odd choice. Don't know why they made Adam a Cory also. The never before mentioned branch of the family seemed false. Perhaps Adam could have been a returned Dennis Carrington/Wheeler.
  12. Fabulous. Robert Loggia and Lynne Adams in living color!
  13. With Annie part of the problem was that she had 3 marriages under her belt in less than 10 years (Beau, Brad and Jeff) and they also saddled her with quadruplets so there wasn't much left for her. Dee was a different story. She had been married to John only and her return had many possibilities. She could have gotten involved with John again, and there were several other guys on the canvas that were romantic options.
  14. After success in the UK as a comedy performer and movie success in the US, Dudley Moore had two attempts at sitcom success on CBS with 'Dudley' and 'Daddy's Girls' both of which flopped badly.

  17. In 1975 when Happy Days began to take off ABC announced a proposed 'Fonzie' spin off that would move the character 15 years ahead and have an older Fonzie dealing with a teen son who was similar to his dad as a youngster. Wiser heads prevailed and they developed Laverne and Shirley instead.

  19. Very true. Every character was new at some point. Core families die off because TPTB are not interested/committed for whatever reason. They should always be mindful of keeping continuity. But over and over again, we see new characters who could have been members of the core families and viable characters forgotten. If Days had a commitment to the Hortons, there could be a lot more onscreen. So many have been written off and forgotten. As talked about before, the Fosters could have continued on Y&R. Greg could have children. Jennifer Foster could have turned up at some point and so on.. On GH Tom Hardy and his children could be on canvas. If the families were refreshed and mixing it up with other characters I think a good balance could be struck.

  22. No need to apologize- my mistake also for not checking. I'd practically forgotten about the MR/TS thread. I will move onto 1960. Luckily you realized in time!
  23. The whole story seemed pretty much unplanned - very Josh Griffith. Really at that point they should have got a few years out of Nikki/Josh to delay the inevitable Victor /Nikki reunion. They were always more interesting apart. Married in October-when was he killed?
  24. Thanks for that - a whole episode in great quality! Most of those characters were gone by the mid 80's....
