Soap Hoppers: The Soap Actors And Roles Thread
Rebecca Schull always seemed older to me. Was reminded of her last week when I saw her on a Law & Order: Criminal Intent repeat. And even then - circa 2004 - she seemed older. But I'm glad she is still around and still acting!

ARTICLE: Patrick Mulcahey OUT as Co-Head Writer at ‘General Hospital’
Well, that didn't last long. But if Korte is sole HW, get ready for A LOT more Carly.

Orange Yam Criminal spanked by a porn star - in and out of court. Brain worms. Brain f-u-c-k-i-n-g worms inside a crazy, gravel-voiced spawn of a beloved fallen hero. Poor worm probably starved to death from lack of food. THESE are the alternatives to President Joe Biden. But hey, sure! Let's give either of the former two the nuclear codes! What. The F*CK.

Nancy Lee Grahn will be reuniting [again!] with Lane Davies on General Hospital.

GH: April 2024 Spoilers
I hate this. I love this! I haven't watched GH in an eternity. I am/was a Mason/Julia uberfan! And I loved the potential of Cameron/Alexis, but Guza wrecked that. I don't want to watch GH again, damn it! But now I may have to. Hey, if Michael Easton and Roger Howarth can play multiple characters, so can freakin' Lane Davies! With Patrick Mulcahey being responsible for so much M/J goodness on SB, this intrigues me.

SFT/Y&R/SB/GH: RIP Meg Bennett
While her story was never great there, I remember Meg Bennett as Megan Richardson on Santa Barbara, who was another love of CC's that had his long-lost (drippy) son Greg. Her acting was good. I just wish she had better material there. May she rest in peace.

Soap Hoppers: The Soap Actors And Roles Thread
Wow! I had actually forgotten that Maree Cheatham appeared on Hunter, but seeing the title, I do recall the episode! It's stuff like this just why this thread is so great. (And, as an aside, I know has had a long and storied career, but I never realized just how prolific it is!) 🙂

DAYS: A Horton Returns!
This is one hell of a blast from the past! Consider when he left the show in '79, I was turning 7 that year! (God, I'm old!) I just wish he could have returned when Tom and Alice were still around, but I know. Another World. I do hope [pardon the unintentional pun!] that Hope and Bo can/will also return. It would be such a trip to see Steven (Stephen?) with BOTH sisters! All of Addie Horton Olson Williams' kids together, as it were.

House District 10 goes blue. In ALABAMA. Clearly, IVF backlash and, you guessed it, women's rights. Thus why I think outlets are prematurely counting Biden/Dems out in 2024. AGAIN. Polls don't vote. People DO.

Soap Hoppers: The Soap Actors And Roles Thread
What's ironic about the Hunter connection as far as Robert Newman went, like soaps, his character and McCall leaving the US was seemingly retconned out of existence upon the 2003 brief revival. LOL! Oh, well. But Newman scoring a gig on the L&O franchise is pretty cool.

Classic Primetime Miniseries - Trashy or Classy?
Loved that one. My 11-year-old self was sucked in by the larger than life forbidden romance and beautiful score (by the late great Henry Mancini!). I even have the DVD. Ditto North & South with Patrick Swayze and James Read.

Doubtful. The only poll I DO buy is the one about Congressional approval. Like SCOTUS, it is at an all-time low. The average American has as much contempt for Congress as it does for Trump and/or Biden, depending on which end of the political spectrum one is on. And Nate Silver has been face splatting for too many cycles now, hence his desperation to remain relevant.

Polls, schmolls. "Polls" predicted Dump would expertly dominate in his primaries. He has UNDER-PERFORMED in almost every metric predicted. Polls said Hillary was a lock in 2016. Polls screamed about Red Wave 2022. The media hates it, but since Dobbs and the fall of Roe - among other key issues - polls have s-h-i-t the bed ever since. Could Dump win? Anything is POSSIBLE, but without expanding the base he has left, not PROBABLE, IMO. But that doesn't mean the nation should be complacent. Vote as if the nation and its democracy is on the line. It is.

Not so. Historically, uncommitted has always been in the low double digits. If I recall reading, it was around 12% in 2012 and the same "Incumbent Obama is in trouble in Michigan!" tagline was pushed. He destroyed Romney there that November.

"Anything But Love" was also how I recognized Richard Lewis. He swam in neuroses but was very funny. May he rest in peace!

DAYS: Doug & Julie Remember Tom & Alice! | promo (February 16, 2024)
That lone pic of the Horton house set. I forget if this was posted on the board [probably; if it was, I apologize for repeating as I do not mean to troll!], but I do believe that set was also used in, of all things, an ad for Dial soap back in the day! (Days had an affiliation with Screen Gems in its '60s heyday, if I recall reading, which was probably a big deal as a lot of shows fell under that banner. So maybe sets were a part of that?) I just found this pretty funky!

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
So I was bingeing old Hollywood Graveyard episodes on YouTube, when a visit to Santa Barbara Cemetery in one showed the final resting spot of Christopher Bernau, who naturally played Alan Spaulding. Here is that video. For a cemetery, it seems peaceful, and right near the ocean [if you watch from the start!]. I marked the video at Bernau's segment, though.

The Politics Thread
Agreed. Polling is, as far as I'm concerned, an anachronism in the age of cell phones. Only a certain core actually participates. Polls have fallen down on the job from 2016 on, and it continues. And, I'm not all that certain that abortion was not on the ballot at all. Not THE issue this time, true, but Pilip is against it, and Dobbs has been a HUGE boon for Dems since women were stripped of bodily autonomy. Again, tonight the Dem candidate over performed. As has been happening for at least two to three election cycles now... Some voters interviewed even said they voted for Suozzi because REPUBLICANS killed their own bill. So some ARE paying attention. It is a long way to November. But the momentum for Dems is a hell of a lot more positive than the media wishes.
