First, DeSantis gets bitch slapped by Mickey Mouse, now Trump gets an indictment. 'Tis a wonderful day to be an American! A Republican, not so much!

Roles that Suffered After 3 or More Recasts
The biggest mistake with regard to Santa Barbara post-Cruz/Eden was axing Carrington Garland for a "name" in Eileen Davidson. Davidson is a fine actress, but she was much too "hard" to be Kelly, and a bit too mature. Garland generated chemistry with EVERYONE and could have helped the show transition out of Cruz/Eden with any given love interest. (Roscoe Born left on bad terms, and Craig tried to murder Mason, her brother. So maybe Charles Grant as Connor McCabe still could have worked with her? We'll never know.)

Days possible bts spoiler
Yeah, with the move to Peacock, it doesn't seem like any exit is permanent, which is why I'm not celebrating the EOB news, much as I want to.

Never underestimate the rampant ignorance and stupidity of the average American voter. Don't forget, so many scoffed in 2016, certain that Conald Dump had no shot. We see how that shook out!

Moonlighting Screen Test for David Addison: Bruce Willis versus Harley Venton, former GL actor!
Speaking of song and dance, here is a dream sequence Maddie had from the Season 3 episode, "Big Man on Mulberry Street". Still remember this scene well! When the show sucked, it was sewer level, but at its peak, it was electric.

Moonlighting Screen Test for David Addison: Bruce Willis versus Harley Venton, former GL actor!
He was in Blind Date, with Kim Basinger, Phil Hartman, John Larroquette, and William Daniels in 1987, so around Moonlighting. The film will never win awards, but it was a fun, sort of twisted rom-com.

Moonlighting Screen Test for David Addison: Bruce Willis versus Harley Venton, former GL actor!
It is, definitely. Bruce in his prime had swagger in spades. I crushed so hard on his David Addison! (In my defense, I was 12 or 13 then, so...)

Moonlighting Screen Test for David Addison: Bruce Willis versus Harley Venton, former GL actor!
At least Venton played a role that was memorable, then! I did read that he ended up in an episode of Shepherd's next series, Cybill, so she really must have liked the guy. But, as perverse as it sounds, I am thinking the animosity between Shepherd/Willis helped add a spark to their chemistry, so...

Moonlighting Screen Test for David Addison: Bruce Willis versus Harley Venton, former GL actor!
Found this gem on YT last night. Apparently, it was screen tests from September 1984 for the role of David Addison. Glenn Gordon Caron, Moonlighting creator, was sold on Willis, but the network wasn't sure. An actor named Harley Venton was also considered. It says he played lawyer Derek Colby on Guiding Light from 1980 to 1982. No idea who was testing for Maddie Hayes here, but it is another actress. Here are the tests for both, which was apparently some bonus feature on the pilot episode DVD/VHS: As a comparison, here is another screen test of the first scene from above, this time with Cybill Shepherd, and filmed in the style of the show (probably to give the network a sample of the overall look?):

I just wish it was for one of his more serious crimes and not the Stormy Daniels hush money. But a perp walk is a perp walk, and I want to see it come to fruition desperately!

Days: March 2023 Discussion Thread
I was thrilled to see the end of Bo/Billie, since I have never liked Billie, no matter who played her. And JER tried to destroy Bo/Hope at her expense, and...that's where I am. The fact that RKK turned out to be a trashy human just made the pivot back to Bo/Hope that much easier.

I most remember Sarah Polley from "Slings and Arrows". So happy she won! (And Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Ke Huy Quan! Loved Quan's hug/reunion with Harrison Ford, too!) A great Oscars night for the Gen X crowd!

Check out the Long John Silver's commercial from 1981 (where I have tagged the video to begin!). Anyone look familiar?

The Politics Thread
This man is a TRUE Christian. He may not have been the best president, but as a man and humanitarian, NO ONE can question his kindness and integrity. I hope President Carter's final journey is a peaceful one. If this country had more people of his character in politics, the country would be far better off.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's
And they goofed above [the last set of ratings posted above, where M*A*S*H was #8). It says M*A*S*H was on ABC. It, of course, was a CBS show.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's
Reading those ratings/numbers, I had forgotten all about "MacGruder and Loud", one of Aaron Spelling's few failures. Surprised this never made it to DVD, what with it being in the cop show genre, etc. Lots of other flops/short shows have been put on DVD. And being from Aaron Spelling, I would think that would be enough reason to throw it out to the masses again a few years back (as DVD is on the downswing now), but I guess not. Oh, well. *shrug*

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's
Ah, so the same thing happened here on CBS - and the same year! - that happened at NBC (with Remington Steele, thus screwing Pierce Brosnan out of playing James Bond for a few more years, and also screwing Stephanie Zimbalist out of the female lead role in Robocop!)

Santa Barbara Discussion Thread
To be fair, 1988 was a mess because of the Writers' Strike, so "scab" writers wrote whatever the hell they could to have material on the air. All shows suffered.

Another World Discussion Thread
Debated on whether to post this video but then figured what the heck. Someone revisits the site of Anne Heche's accident (which now appears to be under renovation/construction). But I am posting because, following that, her final resting place is pointed out. It is still not marked but will probably be in time. Anne is buried at Hollywood Forever Cemetery per the video, not far from Mickey Rooney's final resting place.
