The nod today to Michael’s kidney donation to Danny aside, I doubt any would unfortunately. Plus I don’t recall them being too fond of each other in the early 00’s when Diane had become BFF’s with Isabella. I don’t recall MW Diane interacting with Lauren at all and her once close friendship with Michael was largely decimated especially since he was so gung- ho for Victor pushing her out of the ambulance.

LOL I knew we would see nothing of Rey’s memorial service on screen while we would be told about how beautiful it was and what a powerful cathartic speech Chance gave blah blah blah. Lord. Michael’s two kidneys joke was hilarious. Re: Chelsea. Yeah I wish Chelsea should have been in the car with Rey. Well actually Chelsea should have been permanently committed/institutionalized last year but alas as since MCE’s return she has served zero purpose. All the drama about Rey’s mysterious car crash seems to have been sucked out of it. Definitely feels like someone really wanted Rey gone absolutely and for the show to move on quickly from it.

LOL just read this. Pamela’s exit was so bizarre when it was revealed she had bombed Richard’s house and was trying to kill him. Plastic surgery with Richard marveling how Pamela even changed her voice. Was the original actress not available to come back for at least one episode to wrap it up?

The shocking twist was probably the fact Honeybear is sleeping with Donna again in some unknown location. 🤣

LOL I understand MAB/Sheffer/Hamner & Co. was awful how they deconstructed Patty and Sharon. Then Pratt made it even worse with making Sharon and Patty roommates at the asylum while their own doctor had a grudge against Nick. 🙃😵‍💫 No wonder Y&R became so lifeless.

I think the Abbott scenes were very good as well. Davidson, Maitland, and even Ordway did good but at the same time the writing is pretty predictable as how each character would react. It’s interesting because Walters’ haunted performance as Diane is the real driving force and is actually forcing the cast to actually step up for a change. In Mealor’s case, his lack of acting talent is very glaring. OMG!! Remember when Emily came back as Tucker’s therapist randomly when Patty was plotting to kill Genie Francis? 🙈

I think Capaldi era was overall good it returned to lower stakes character driven stories after all the very high stakes drama surrounding the mystery of Trenzalore and what not it was just some stories were dull as dishwater IMO. Heaven Sent/Hell Bent was fantastic, but I remember watching Husbands of River Song and feeling sad as it was the end of an era. I thought Bill had promise but the way she was so easily discarded of, yikes. The crowded Tardis years of the Davison era worked out well for better or for worse mainly though as everyone had their own personality. With the Whittaker/Chibnall era not so much lol.

For the first time in years I am excited in Doctor Who. Gatwa is excellent; with RTD returning as well I really hope that the writing really is sufficient and good. Bad writing is something that’s plagued the last two doctors. Also hoping for a developed companion as there hasn’t been one since Clara.

Even though Wheeler went off the rails psychologically and the budget was trashed at least I felt Wheeler cared about the dying show even though what was occurring onscreen wasn’t great and pretty reckless. The villain of the month stories on ATWT in its last 3 years were pretty insulting as was one character was trashed right after the other. Goutman didn’t care and hated the show. Any regret he feels now is probably because of his divorce and failed academic career lol.

LOL I was talking about this with my mother who was complaining about Steffy acting so weak & helpless and begging Liam to stay beside her compared to Sharon being strong and brave in the face of Rey’s death. It use to be B&B’s good period extended out for several weeks before falling into a lull for a few slow weeks before something new re-energized the show. Now we have maybe a week of good stuff and then the show fall into lull that lasts six months.

Nice Friday cliffhanger. I love Ashley is back for this. I was expecting for Sharon’s memorial service for Rey to occur today. I wonder if they’ll even show it at all and just tell us what a nice service it was. Lord. I FF’d all the Billy and Lily scenes lol. From what I read, I didn’t miss anything.

When is Ashland finally going to meet Diane? Grossman’s Adam has finally found some fresh air with being paired with Hope’s Sally but the writing just never does any favors. I recall Justin Hartley’s Adam found himself in the same predicament. It’s a shame any character growth always gets stunted by catering to egos. It’s interesting that the show today took some strive to resolve a dangling story plot from SSM days five years ago in regards to the sex trafficking story by saying Rey had secretly solved the case. It’s an interesting touch and a reminder that the shots being called these days aren’t necessarily from JG or Morina lol

LOL I was thinking classic Doctor Who about Peri’s fate, which ultimately turned out to be some fake nightmare or something. LOL! It would be up Ron’s alley to start referencing long gone and lost NBC soaps. Will and Sonny take a vacation to Sunset Beach while Chanel and Allie go to Santa Barbara. John & Marlena learn Kristen is hiding in Bay City, but Steve is convinced she is in Somerset instead. Gabi flies off to Texas to arrange a few business deals. Rafe and Nicole visit Peyton Place to find Ava. Maggie meets the secret love child of Neil Curtis and Althea Davis. All of Salem find themselves forced to chase the Devil to Harmony to finally defeat him.

LMAO! I suppose Ron could tell a Doctor Who-ish/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-ish story where Abby is killed but some DiMera scientist has found a way to save her brain. When Gwen is declared brain dead a few weeks later following head trauma from a fall, a brain transplant occurs. Abby wakes up in Gwen’s body. Everyone is rejoiced that Abby lives, but Abby is forced to deal that her brain and mind are stuck in the sister’s body she hated so much. Worse yet some of Gwen’s visual memories have transferred over via her eyes(hello Bobby Reno!)🤣🤣🤣

A headless Abby is so dumb. I suppose we’ll find out by Christmas not only is she alive but Harris Michaels is her savior lol.

RIP Jerry!!!! Loved his portrayal of Ross so much. There was no question he became the cornerstone of GL throughout the 90’s and up until his 2005 exit. 72 is way too young . My favorite pairing of his was with Sherry’s Blake, I wonder if she’s heard the news as well.

Personally I liked the 2002 visuals despite people complaining at the time it looked like life savers lol but do think a simple refresh of HOTL music was all that was needed. The 2002 ATWT music was good but the ugly gold was awful to look until they switched to blue but it lacked a globe in space opening ehh.

It was good enough for a Golden Girls episode in 1989 but a long term storyline on Y&R? Yeah unfortunately absolutely not. By the time we saw John & Mamie together in 1995 it was already twilight time for Y&R’s older cast members. MR did some excellent work again towards the end of her run in late 89/early 90 with John’s heart attack. A while back I know we discussed it’s interesting that Bell made Olivia and Dru her nieces instead of her daughters, probably Bell’s easier way around some pretty awkward situations. I mean if Olivia & Dru had been Mamie’s daughters of course Olivia would be best friends Ashley and act like sisters but with Dru, ho boy that would have been one hell of very volatile relationship with Dru resentful of Mamie’s alleged preference for the WASPy Abbott kids for starters.

It’s such a strange ending. Most sources said that Stuart died but was never addressed on screen. It probably should have been. Like Jill being the sole Foster family left I do wish Bell had at least let one Brooks family member remember remain. I had read that could have been Leslie but the Laurence family story was weird as hell and flopped so that ended any notion. That said Liz should have never left IMO at all. I feel maybe Liz was Bell’s answer to Nixon’s Ada on AW and as was probably the only non-messy matriarch Bell wrote (as Jennifer, Katherine, Regina, Vanessa, Dina, Mary, Alison, Joanna, and Lilibelle were all very messy lol @kalbirDidn’t Y&R get better ratings that some of CBS primetime shows in the 90’s? It’s always sad to me that everyone goes back to 1981 GH saying how soaps where big yet Y&R overall from 1990-1994 was such an unmatched juggernaut in ratings and really made Y&R characters household names. LOL @DRW50 about the Audrey North story that went south. I am glad MR’s Mamie got some good airtime here and it’s first hinted that Mamie was in love with John herself while being the mother to the Abbott kids they never had yet still doing her old fashioned duties as “the maid/help” whole “staying in her place.” Bell was never progressive enough to do any racial storylines but he definitely nailed Victorian classicism to a tee when it came to these stories.

Brenda’s first day back is on YT again after so many years. I can’t imagine Adair playing these scenes with such fire and intensity.
