CBS was such a disaster in 1997-98 lol. I still have the promotional VHS that my local CBS station KRQE at the time was handing out for free one Saturday at the mall in Sept 97 🤣 That was the year they snagged Step By Step, Family Matters, Unsolved Mysteries and had all their new shows not get renewed at all. Wasn’t the biggest night Saturday and Sunday nights? I did like Early Edition. I know Everyone Loves Raymond and Cosby helped on Mondays with the forgettable Chicago Hope.

No real substantial hints aside Krista Allen praising the twist in a tweet when she got the script and an interview with a line producer(?) who talked about how big it is and mentioned some people wouldn’t like it. That’s all we have so far.

Thanks @YRfan23 for clarifying Ford’s last air date! I thought so but I was confused as I’ve read it some recaps/synopsis that made it seem like Andy & Faren aired into January ‘88 but I’m guessing it was a delay in publishing and/or throwing in last minute details about the story’s conclusion.

Is she back doing horror movies again? I haven’t followed her career but I do remember her being in the super campy Chopping Mall with Kelli Maroney from Night of the Comet. Lord what movies use to come on Saturday nights on third-tier TV OTA stations… I recall Crampton was last on Y&R in early 2007 when Leanna Love popped up to interview David Chow. Super random but it was a neat little reunion I suppose of Nick & Mindy from GL.

Just out of curiosity but exactly how old was Emma supposed to be? She acted like a perpetual 20-something year old even though Ladd was her in 40’s.

I’m sure she is a nice lady but the casting of Montgomery sounds like one of those MAB era casting of D-list celebs from the 70s and 80s in roles. And the idea of Mari Jo returning is intriguing but knowing this show at the moment the idea is probably already DOA.

Was Michael Mealor high when he filmed those scenes? Looked like he took one too many hits to prepare himself for the horrid dialogue Kyle had.

I had paid no attention to DC for years and ignored Giddens so of course here we are now with him actually attempting to write a soap.

I liked Allie’s debut but unfortunately I give her only six months following a non-relationship with Noah and a single episode where she makes small talk with Imani and Elena over coffee and calls them her best friends.

LMAO it’s so easy to forget. I think the last time the Marone connection was stated was a few years ago when I can’t remember if it was either Rick or Bill (I’m 75% sure it was Bill) who said it while mocking Ridge. One of Thudley’s first “big shocking plot twists” that was a total dud; Ridge, like Phillip on GL remains the favorite golden boy of the family. Maybe if Stephanie was revealed to be Nick’s mother instead of Ridge being Massimo’s son and Jackie being Nick’s wife instead of mother it might have worked out better? But on the flip side I’ve seen a few people here and other places suggest the upcoming “big shocking plot twist” is that Ridge is Eric’s bio son after all. 🤣 And what became of Diana Marone anyways?

Last seen in like 2010 lol but at least last mentioned 2012 when Nick left in his sailboat with him off-screen.

Speaking of Forresters and family, the lacking of additional Forrester family members beyond Ridge’s family for the current Ridge/Brooke situation is both outright glaring and appalling. No Kristen to give both motherly and sisterly advice? No Bridget to be completely stunned/floored by Brooke & Deacon’s night together while harboring old feelings for Deacon herself? No RJ to beg his parents to stay together? No Rick, Thorne, and Felicia to conspire together to throw push Ridge & Brooke out of Forrester because of all the drama, with Rick especially tearing Ridge a new one? No Eric III, Dino, and Logan Knight to start the next generation of Forresters? Yeesh. I enjoy Grace though; a recast Zoe could make this story more whole though.

The Jamey Giddens situation reminds me of the Sarah Bibel and Tom Casiello “second coming” hype from several years ago. As usual those cautionary tales were obviously flatly ignored.

Wheeler had actually been up for the job after Rauch left in ‘02 but was rightly considered too green from what I recall. Of course MADD’s oddball choice of Conboy turned out to be a complete catastrophic failure. By 2004 I don’t think anyone wanted the EP job at GL. There was rumors that MADD had approached ex-EP Laibson and former AMC EP’s Francesca James and Jean Dadario Burke but all three apparently flatly turned down the offer. Giving the EP job to Wheeer and promoting Kriezman was probably the cheapest way to go especially after the WesCon budget debacle. I hadn’t considered MADD fighting for her own survival though. Where as her predecessors Trach and Fitts were based out of Cincinnati MADD was set up her own NYC office. After her contract ended in 2005 P&G closed it down and eliminated the position altogether. I do wonder whatever happened to MADD after she left, never have seen interviews and seems she just simply vanished after exiting P&G.

It would have been nice Tara had be played by someone who could act, Ashland had kids from a previous marriage, and did indeed turn out to be Prentiss Brooks in the flesh as they all slithered and Insinuated themselves in Genoa City. Somehow all the obvious potential was idiotically ignored for the trash we’ve received from [!@#$%^&*] Griffin. ….and the joystick is for closeted gay Noah hopelessly lusting for Tessa 🤣

Glad to see Falcon Crest resurface again on IMDB TV(and Amazon Prime)! Been enjoying these first several episodes again as well I totally forget there was an another actress to play Melissa. Was never a fan of Vickie, and I do wish Julia had been given more to do as the show progressed instead of go nuts. Poor Maggie’s death haunts me to this day though: That the first of the trifecta of needlessly unnecessary horrible deaths for CBS soaps in their dying seasons. The second was April on Dallas followed by Linda Fairgate on Knots Landing. I did like the modernized S9 opening though I guess they were hoping to bring the show into the 90’s?

Me watching Y&R:

I am not sure what is worse or more embarrassing, those weird scenes of Billy’s podcast 🤢 or the fact we wasted an appearance of Jill on telling Lily how wonderful she is. Or the fact Billy and Lily gave a presentation in Devon’s home like they’re door to door sales people working for Amway from the 80’s. Triple yikes! Likewise, Ashley should have been in Phyllis place today in with the scenes of Jack and Traci.

Haha no it’s not his fault; someone at ABC must have liked him and wanted to keep Ted around to push him into the Love Boat and Dynasty after Happy Days ended. I think afterwards McGinley’s career did even out with success at Married With Children and Hope & Faith, while occasionally having roles on a couple DOA sitcoms on CBS (Work With Me, Charlie Lawrence) and McGinley did come around to poke fun at himself for the notoriety. He’s not the only one of course; one of many examples is Rena Sofer, who had the show killer label as well in the late 90’s and early 00’s. Yeesh, what a bad time slot. The mid 80’s seem to be when Saturday night TV viewership really took a hit.

And poor Ted McGinley ended up being the fall guy for this! 😂 I liked Paper Dolls but Glitter was so very mundane. I suppose ABC was nearly blindsided by a resurgent NBC. Interestingly Finder of Lost Loves aired against Berrenger's in an awkward 10PM Saturday night time slot.

The only “major” twist I would accept is if the show somehow convinced Flannery to return with Stephanie being alive lmao but since it is very highly unlikely, I’d say it will probably be something stupid.

LMAO at someone digging up Finder of Lost Loves. I clearly remember seeing the show and thinking “I definitely would never let that creep find me!” What a terrible show. That’s a pretty good assessment. Overall I thought Frankie was pretty bland and uninteresting, and it didn’t help that Ross felt so weak In the role.
