I love “Guilty”! I also loved The Bee Gees, both their early pop stuff and the disco era. This song from a few years back sort of reminds me of a Bee Gees song:

I’d become obsessed with “Heartbreaker” all of a sudden earlier this year. It was never a huge radio staple when I was growing up, so it wasn’t overly familiar. Dionne was rarely one to go overboard with the melismas and hooting and hollering (like some of her contemporaries and followers), but she imbues the song with such feeling. Probably her best not written by Bacharach.

I think a lot of it is just laziness and hoping audiences suspend their disbelief. The recent example I cite of course is Ryan Chamberlain walking all over Port Charles killing people, including in places of business, and not being picked up on a gazillion security cameras, even just on the street. They’d have to be more creative if they took modern-day advances into account.Important Information
