Interesting how some of JG’s favorites like Jason Thompson, MCE, and Melissa Ordway are waaay down the list. (Not gonna look a gift horse in the month. Part of Y&R’s improvement this year is those three being featured less.) I’m actually surprised that Courtney Hope isn’t top 10 for the year so far. Sharon Case only recently got a story yet was on enough to be top 10.

Yeah. I’ve seen a bit of her on AW and other soaps like Generations. She’s definitely capable of playing the drama but I was curious. Jill Larson had a lot of dramatic moments as Opal later on.

Is there a great example of Dorothy Lyman’s Opal in a very serious, dramatic scene? I haven’t seen anything of hers where she wasn’t playing comedy. It’s a shame she wasn’t around for Jenny’s death. Did she only submit comedy for her two Emmy wins as Opal?

Both Sloane and Danielle were a set and a break up but both lost (to Vekic and Bencic). Vekic is a great grass-court player and absolutely tireless, but I heard Sloane unraveled on the brink of capturing that second set.

Y&R has really leaned into the flashbacks lately, even flashbacks of relatively recent developments.

Definitely a bit of a Streisand effect here. By attempting to censor it, they only drew attention to it. There are dozens of Zaslav takedowns across the web amid an endless sea of content most people won’t read a tiny fraction of. This one was harsh with the Pretty Woman comparison, but I can’t help but think they’ve only done worse damage to themselves by trying to bury it than they would by simply ignoring it.

Santa Barbara, of course, since it was those crazy Dobsons. They had some of the genre’s best comedic actors in Nicolas Coster (R.I.P.), Lane Davies, Robin Mattson, Louise Sorel, Justin Deas, et al, who could handle the screwball pace and also enliven some of the more womp-womp material. AMC had some incredibly funny characters like Dorothy Lyman’s Opal, Phoebe, Erica, the list goes on…

I forgot Christopher Templeton passed away years ago from cancer. So that’s seven actors gone. Of course, Jeanne, Jerry, and Quinn were all older, but Michael, and especially KSJ, Beau Kazer, and CT were all relatively young when they died.

So many actors in this episode are gone: Jeanne Cooper, Kristoff St. John, Quinn Redeker, Michael Tylo, Jerry Douglas, Beau Kazer…

Randy Brooks filled those jeans quite nicely.

For some reason, the way Erika says “the relationship is strange” is taking me out.
