I suppose the music industry is long overdue for a real reckoning. We had Russell Simmons, R. Kelly, and Ryan Adams so far, alongside a couple of lesser-known execs. Certainly nothing on the level of what the film, TV, and news industries have seen: The story on Ryan supplying Albert Hammond, Jr. of the Strokes with heroin:

Ryan Adams the alt-country singer who used to be married to Mandy Moore, NOT Bryan “Summer of ‘69/Everything I Do (I Do It For You)” Adams. I read Lizzy Goodman’s Meet Me in the Bathroom, and Ryan sounded like a manipulative mess who apparently got one of the Strokes addicted to heroin.

Even if Stefanos truly believes this, these kinds of Zverev-like comments are not going to endear him to anyone. He’s lost to Damir THREE TIMES on different surfaces (clay/hard) in three years. That’s a decent sample size to show he has issues with Dzumhur’s game.

Apparently Tsitsipas wasn’t at his best, but Dzumhur really gives him a lot of problems. Damir is 3-1 over him in h2h.

Not a good start to this year for Khachanov. He is channeling Jack Sock’s dreadful post-Paris-title performance.

That’s so cool, thanks. I’d love to see his other Best and Worst of the Year columns from that era. I used to wait for them with such anticipation. I didn’t realize he had selected AW as Best Soap that year, as 1992 was a great year for Y&R and GL too. (It’s sad that TVG doesn’t have an online archive, but that magazine has changed hands so many times over the years and is now a relic of a pre-EPG era.)

Agreed. The shorts categories are the most expendable, and people have been campaigning for merging of the Sound categories for a while now. We already have categories like Hair Styling and Makeup, which are separate disciplines, combined for one award.

I saw that. I haven’t read it yet, but Esquire took a lot of heat recently for killing that Bryan Singer story that ended up at the Atlantic. Their choices will face some increased scrutiny.

Where’s that long promo featuring all the Another World guys circa 1996 dancing on some big, tacky neon-pink set? That was probably the most awkward and most unintentionally homoerotic soap-related footage I’ve ever seen. It was on YouTube and posted here a couple of years ago, but I think it was yanked down due to embarrassment from all involved.
