  6. BH is a victim of its own success. The more media coverage and social media discussion this stuff gets, the less incentive they have to make changes. Perhaps they’ll realize the show’s a mess before it’s too late, but a lot of people find these dynamics irresistible.
  7. Pam Long wrote Todd punching Tea out cold, right? Just read Her Stories and then re-read Llanview in the Afternoon, which I know was discussed here ad nauseum when it was released many years ago. It’s easily the most important document about the rise and fall of the genre. Such a treasure. I was struck at how “c’est la vie” Melissa Archer was about what happened to the show in the 2000s. It’s didn’t come off as apologizing for Frons, etc., but more an acknowledgement of the inexorable forces at play beyond the show’s control and making the best of a less-than-ideal situation. I sometimes wish I had her Zen.
