  1. Her memory is incredible. She's able to recite full names and dates from events that happened almost 50 years ago. Michael doesn't get too deep but his affection for the genre and the actors he interviews is infectious.
  2. They mired Greenlee in stories where her most interesting characterization was impossible to use. She just became a victim, the same sh!t happened to Kendall. These bad girls were constantly crying and suffering and talking about babies. It was so lame. I really liked the actors they chose for the recasts of Bobby (Christian Campbell, who was and is hot af) and Anita (Natalia Cigliuti, who I remember from one of the latter lesser version of Saved by the Bell), for some reason the show didn't utilize them well at all.
  3. I saw a clip the other day of Amy with Tracey and Lauren. So I guess Amy was apart of the teen scene at first?
  4. Beautiful man and instant charm on screen. It's not easy to act by yourself essentially and he pulled it off in his first scene. He wasn't nearly as green as a lot of the clunkers we have today, like that woman who plays Lola. A black hole of charisma.
  5. No problem, I'm usually the one getting my facts wrong so I was happy to help lol
  6. I guess it's more I miss commitment to an idea. Nowadays it feels like they write the show on the whim of what the audience might want that hour or which couple kinda sorta has chemistry that week.
  7. In the interview she said that she gave Marland a courtesy call before even auditioning with OLTL (because they were the direct competition) and he gave her the go ahead saying that they were very happy with Ellen Dolan. Then the day before her first day as Nora (and after dying her hair red) he called her back and asked her to return as Dolan was leaving. She considered it but turned ATWT down because she'd already committed to One Life.
  8. Does Katherine after hearing that her son has been shot: A ) Rush out the door and to the hospital B ) Clutch her chest in fear she might have a stroke C ) Yell for Esther to get her driver D ) Monologue to herself in her living room about who could have done it If you picked D you too have taste and class just like Katherine Chancellor. I loved that, Jeanne loved to wring the drama out of every moment. I loved that too, he clearly found her very delightful. In the 2000s other characters seemed more annoyed by Drucilla than not, it always bothered me because yes she's a lot but she's so vivacious and entertaining.
  9. The magazines lost all journalistic endeavors a long time ago and that's so clear in this podcast, they're just promotional pieces for the soaps. They never ask any interesting or followup questions, they're so used to being mouthpieces for the networks. I do enjoy the podcast though but that's in spite of the hosts, I just like hearing the actors talk about their history on daytime.
  10. First of all I'm very upset my "were been" typo was quoted. Secondly, I thought about them when I made that post, wondering how long they'd been on the show before they got their lavish wedding so thanks for the dates. I kind of miss when soaps would just commit to a couple and could invest in 5 episodes of these nearly brand new characters getting married.
  11. Such a good listen, thank you for sharing. Those interviewers are horrible though, they hardly ask followup questions, they just take whatever list of questions they had beforehand and make sure to get through them.
  12. This channel posted Edmund and Maria's wedding last night: It's kind of insane the amount of grandiose given to two characters who hadn't even been on the show for two years at this point. Also while pretty it's very boring. The most drama seems to surround Julia and Terrence's falling out at the wedding rehearsal. Also I didn't realize Maria and Dixie were friends.
  13. Imagine a world in which Scott Holmes played Walter White. I don't want to!
  14. And Tonya Williams was 32! They both looked like babies.
  15. At least she was meant to be aggravating unlike now when we're supposed to think the sun and the moon shoots out of the asses of the most annoying characters.
  16. Oy, thank you. Sounds like...well most of Sonny/Jason/Carly/Sam stories over the last 20 years.
  17. Thank you! Who the heck is Manny?
  18. Ahem, Daytime Emmy® Award Winner Natalia Livingston thank you very much.
  19. That JFP podcast thread made me curious about the GH train wreck (the plotline, not the show) and oof the way they wrote Luke is...something @ an hour and 23 minutes: Luke loved the hell out of his kids...what the hell? I didn't watch the whole thing because...lol, can anyone tell me why all of these characters were on a train?
  20. I've been imagining a return story for Dru and it involves making the twins grade school age. Lily can't be walking around looking 22 with kids in college. It's just stupid. Besides that they did nothing interesting with them as teenagers so it's very easy to ignore.
  21. Thanks for sharing that. Bryton clearly has a lot of affection and respect for Victoria. When he mentioned the "flavor" the Winters brought to the show he was definitely talking mostly about Dru, no question. The poor family has suffered with her absence. Like you said Christel was very complimentary toward her too, she talked about her professionalism and how much VR, Kristoff and Shemar taught her by example. The first 25 minutes are great, the last 4 are about Bryton and his dumb app with DG.
  22. That's how I saw it too. This was just the progression due to years of his control freak antics.
  23. I want to complain about Y&R's current music cues some more. This isn't a horrible scene, it's not good but it's not horrible, however listen to that music. It's like a damn lullaby playing under an intense scene. And that end EVERY scene with that same music. It doesn't make any sense to me. Same concept (with better acting and direction): Listen to that score! So tense and foreboding and then it crescendos in perfect synch with the action in the scene. It's marvelous. Besides that the slap was about 13 years in the making, so even if the music wasn't so amazing it still would've been impactful. Anyway, here's some trivia. Of the 5 episodes airing next week in celebration of the Winters family, 3 of them aired on a Wednesday...
  24. They cheated on each other so much. Nick cheated with Grace, apparently this intern (a kiss still qualifies), Phyllis and Sharon cheated with Diego, Brad (they only kissed, they were able to have sex the same night Nick and Phyllis first night did but Sharon felt too guilty) and Cameron Kirsten. I think Nick and Phyllis was the only full blown affair, the others were one night stands.
