B&B: February 2025 Discussion Thread
2-21 Lord...leave it to Sheila...lol. I was disappointed that Sheila was not the one to figure out what Remy was doing to Electra. Cuz game recognizes game. So it was great to see Sheila (with KB back to the black hair) have scenes with Remy...who is back. And I love...now that everything is out in the open...their friendship. Of course, Sheila ain't judging him cuz SHEILA. And how she helped him out with a scheme with the quickness (hehe Dario) was genius. Her setting him up with Bill was done in such a B&B way (A/C fixer) but I can't say that I didn't love those scenes and how the actors bounced off each other. Hopefully, we will get more of that friendship. Finally...movement. And speaking of movement...oooo at Finn finally deciding to tell Steffy. He's been debating on the episodes I've seen (my mind has been on BTG and letting episodes delete themselves) all week. And last week. But again, the storyline is moving. And I liked that Poppy will sadly have to tell Li while Finn started to tell Steffy. I even liked how it was done, and I laughed at Steffy's reaction to hearing that Finn slept with his aunt. And leaving it on a Friday cliffhanger (well the part about Luna being his daughter) was well-done. Liam sighting! And all I could think was...like father, like son. Where do they go with him if he's going to be sticking around. Really liked Friday's episode.

Mmmmm Victoria Rowell. But I would love to see all of them, but top of the list for me with Debbi Morgan. I definitely hope to see those two you mentioned fleshed out and fully expect them to be given how well the other minor characters are being fleshed out already two episodes in. lol. That does give more gas to the fire of everyone here posting about expecting Leslie to go full Fatal Attraction on Ted. I love it!!

YW!!! Writing it out...yeah. No wonder me and a few others have enjoyed it. As Paul said, it is fresh. The only thing that has let it down has been the pacing at times. Though the slow burn has allowed for getting invested more...especially with the Nate, Amy, and Audra dynamic. One of the reveals was a Friday cliffhanger that was not followed up the following Monday. Instead...a bunch of crap writing. In fact, that was the second week of February. lol. Monday and Friday were a waste of time, but Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday were good. And those had that storyline in it if I remember correctly.

I suspect that at some point...like the best soaps...her disconnected part of the plot will converge with the Duprees. It's been a minute since current soaps have done that well so I hope it's true so MVJ can show off. I agree she and Andre have a spark, and I'm definitely intrigued by their history. Is she the one that got away, or is Andre just a constant flirt? In any case, I don't mind seeing a girl/guy friendship that is just that. A friendship. So far...she's the good girl and he looks like a bad boy. That can be a great friendship. Think Lucas (not that he was bad, but still got in trouble)/Haley on OTH. I don't know about the casting, but I do like that all the minor characters that would normally be played as tokens by black actors/actresses are being played by others. It's meta, but like a nice subversion of the trope. And Lauren so far is the standout for sure.

Y&R: February 2025 Discussion Thread
Very. AND an attractive black man with money. How well-timed with BTG indeed. Yeah. Amy had a child with Nathan and contacted Nate to reveal that 1) he has a half-brother and 2) she was dying. The child, Damian, had fallen out with Amy so she did not have the resources to find him on her own. Damian was also always getting into shady things. After debate, Nate decided to find him, using Devon's old detective friend to do so. What the detective discovered was that Damian seem to bounce around working for the same company, but in all these different locations. They narrowed it down to L. A. so Nate, Amy, and Audra flew out under the guise of a job offer to get a feel for Damian. Nate talked to Damian alone and Damian seem lukewarm, but intrigued. Once Nate, Audra, and Amy returned to Genoa City was when the reveals started. The first one...the company that Damian worked for...was DAMIAN'S company. Meaning he already knew who Nate was when Nate met him in L. A. The second reveal occurred when Damian arrived in Genoa City to figure out why Nate had contacted him in the first place...not realizing his mother was dying...and it turned out--revealed only to the audience--the man Nate met in L. A. WAS NOT Damian, but a man named Holden who worked for Damian. Damian had Holden posing as him to get to the bottom of Nate's interest in him. The third reveal just happened over the last two weeks. And that was Nate arranging to meet with Damian (really Holden) to reveal why he contacted him in the first place. What Holden did not know was that Amy was there, too. As soon as she laid eyes on him, the jig was up!!! That led to some great confrontation scenes between the real Damian, Nate, and Amy. So Damian now knows his mother is dying and also Nate is his half-brother. He is still adjusting...and fancies Lily who he bumped into and was immediately intrigued. Meanwhile, Holden has a past with Audra...meaning that she knew Holden was not Damian the WHOLE TIME...which will put her relationship with Nate in jeopardy as well as put her in the crosshairs of Devon and Lily who she had finally made inroads with over the past year. Writing that out...it's been a pretty good storyline. lol. I personally suspected Damian owned the company due to Amy saying how much Damian loved the Count of Monty Cristo. And that reveal was well-done. But usually this storyline when it was featured in an episode ended on cliffhangers which were also done. All of the reveals I mentioned above were codas in scenes...usually Thursday/Friday cliffhangers. I hope that helps. I'm still playing catch-up on last week, my focus completely on BTG.

How funny with Misha given the GG role was supposed to go to her originally.

Same. Because I didn't care for her in the first episode at all. But Episode 2, I felt she took a leap acting-wise though her character was still boring. And I guess it was down to the writing that I realized that I was invested...because who can't relate to starting a new job...one that you have really been working for, too. And in a hospital...I guess Grey's Anatomy, other medical shows, AND soaps have me trained...because we know drama will happen. It gave Ash some motivation to play with...which I felt JJ and the trainer did well. Mind you, I did like the trainer more.

Ooooo that was vicious shade. lol. jk. I know what you mean. I think, unlike those two, she is going to blossom. The fact she is a bland/boring character vs you can see her acting like she is a bland/boring character...as in see she's acting...I think she will be a dark horse once they attempt to give her something meaty.

RIP: In Memoriam Thread
I guess it shows how well my friends know me that even thought I haven't talked to some of them in ages, they still messaged me to see if I was okay. My jaw hasn't dropped over her since I ran into her, chatting to my friend about Buffy, at a 7th Street Starbucks in Manhattan back when I lived there. The irony of me rewatching her Season 1 Gossip Girl scenes as Georgina Sparks last night (and that I just finished binging the reboot where she returns as well last week)...a great introduction as a villainess if ever I saw one...is not lost on me. First Scooby down. Michelle, just like Shannen Doherty before her, has always been a part of my life. From Pete&Pete to Harriet the Spy. I loved her turn in Mysterious Skin...which is one of the book I loved growing up as a Southern boy looking for gay novels in a town that did not have very many. And to see her appear on Buffy the Vampire Slayer...oomf! Dawn wasn't my favorite, but that had nothing to do with Michelle's performance. She was a kid. A key. And she turned in some great performance. Not to mention her horror stuff and turn to wearing black. Which brings me to Gossip Girl. Georgina Sparks was supposed to go to Mischa Barton. Thank Jesus (in-joke) it did not. Cuz she was one of those characters that when she popped up in episodes...like Mama Pope on Scandal...you knew there was about to be some mess popping off and it was going to be gorgeous. And Michelle played Georgina's brand of chaos to the hilt. From hate her on screen to love to hate her to when is she coming back...she navigated that character to some deliciously wicked heights. It was no wonder she was resurrected on the reboot. And at 39? My brother is turning 40 this weekend. So yes, this hits. Especially just given how much of a Buffy/Angel fan I was and still am. First Scooby down. RIP. I totally forgot she was his daughter. Le sigh.

I agree with that, too. In fact, I started to wonder as BTG goes on, if they will have their signature style. Kinda like how Y&R used to have BITD with close-ups, fade in floating past flower vases, a character talking in the foreground with a character in the background (in fact, I believe I saw one moment in the Martin/Vernon scene and loved that). Oh, how this show makes a person imagine.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Wooooooooooooooow!!! The end of an era. But sadly she has no one to blame, but herself. She will be missed. And I do hope she comes out of it stronger than ever and in a better headspace. I do feel the others will march on and maintain without her.

- BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread
I know it was mentioned yesterday that you need those medicals who get mixed up in the drama and given who she's friends with and who your close friend is...I so see Ms. Ash getting a bit of story at some point. Haha. I didn't even think of that. Well tbf this Bill AND that Bill are powerful men and attractive so... I feel that way as well. - BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread
