  1. Twitter finally permanently suspended the account of that POS! You know, when Reddit bans someone before you do, it was already late.
  2. You know, I was thinking this too. So much about today's politics is about posturing, it seems. Marco Rubio does it a lot. Lofty talk until the moment comes. As long as there's something to report to the constuents in the home state, I guess. Did I say lofty? I meant bullshit. Although some of Murkowski's reasoning seems suspect, at least she wants him (Idiot in Chief) out.
  3. I just read that Isner withdrew from the tournament in Delray Beach and saw someone tweet at him, "Hey John, did you get maced at the Capitol?" 😂
  4. I wonder whether McKinsey would have stayed a few more years had Bernau lived, or was she just tired of the business? That reminds me, I have to take some time to finally listen to that McKinsey-themed reunion discussion.
  5. Rademacher, Baio and Sabato Jr. were very lucky to have gotten as far as they have in life. Baio had a minimum of talent when he was young but the rest had negligible amount of talent. My guess is that they're upset that the sheen of charm that they once exuded all but totally evaporated about 20 years ago and their tickets on the fame gravy train expired, along with their luck.
  6. Marion Ramsey in those Police Academy movies was so funny, the way she'd use that soft-spoken squeeky voice one moment, only to blast someone with a full-throated exclamation in the very next moment. RIP.
  7. Gotta get a new Wi-Fi router because these threads are loading much too slowly and it's hard to keep up on this lil' old phone ( can't wait to get my computer, which never had this problem, slow Wi-Fi and all). I wasn't able to read what has been going on with your mother, @JaneAusten but I will be praying for you, your mother and your family to be surrounded with the help and comfort you need to make things better for your mom and all of your loved ones. @Vee I think what your mother is now feeling is righteous indignation, which I have been feeling since yesterday. From your anecdotes about your mother's various efforts, I know that it won't be long before she is channeling that feeling toward meaningful action for the better. @Khan your mother is consistent, lol. Maybe it's a survival mechanism? Like, deep deep deeeep down, she knows what things really are but doesn't want to admit it? Time will tell whether there is true movement to these declarations but it is a lot better than the hapless hand-wringing I was reading about, which never sat right with me as it came across as a lack of political will. At least make the vigorous effort to improve this matter. It's 13 days but a sociopath can do a lot more damage in less time.
  8. The player who wore half-blackface as proof of her "support" for BLM? 🙄. Not surprising that she makes poor choices.
  9. No Black person in America is surprised by any of this. Any of it.
  10. Again, I ask whether people still believe there are no ways to cut off Trump's (or someone like him) pathways to try to run again? The US will not survive another like him.
  11. "Listen to Black women", they claim. But they didn't listen to this Black woman when she told them this, well over a year ago.
  12. Do people still believe that there is no way to stop Trump or the next crazy autocrat from sowing chaos and violence in the country?? If that's the case then the US is in a world of trouble.
  13. There's not much Meg Ryan/Betsey material on YouTube, it's a fairly paltry amount. You'd have to go back to around '83 to get a genuine sense of the bond between Betsey and Kim. There was a few short scenes in 85, 86 and like someone mentioned, 88 where you get a brief reminder but by the time Kim and Bob married in spring of 85, you already got the sense that Kim and Betsey were moving along separate paths.
  14. This blessed my timeline today and I'm just going to take a moment to read and appreciate.
  15. Never say it can't be done.
  16. This is a massacre.
  17. Well, then they need to focus on ensuring that Trump can't run again. Maybe mandate that every presidential candidate submit at least fifteen years of tax returns with their paperwork. Just pretend that it's a Democratic Supreme Court justice nominee. Folks know how to block those.
  18. Ugh, to all of it.
  19. The least those who pretend to care about the rule of law and democracy can do is ensure that Trump is never allowed to run for the presidency or any public office again. If they sit on their asses and do nothing to punish Trump's actions, they will ensure that some future autocrat who is not as incompetent and dumb as Trump will have a leadership pathway.
  20. Sadly, that nay be one of the key reasons why Lucinda had no serious, and long-term other pairings, other than John Dixon (although you can see attempts with characters, here and there). Something came to mind in reading your post-- silence doesn't always equal consent. Scene partners (and the director) who allow another actor to go off on an ad-libbing tangent may not agree with it yet will let it go because in the fast-paced environment of daytime soaps, it might be easier and cost effective to just move on with the scene, rather than stopping to reshoot, particularly if the tangent is not too disruptive to the central drama. This is not to slight Hubbard at all, who did some memorable, wonderful work but from the perspective of a writer who has also done some acting (onstage), it can be taxing for everyone--scene partners, director and writers to consistently have to deal that one actor who is always going off script.
  21. Lucinda was known for making off the wall statements. Remember when she was in the midst of a rant about Montega and randomly blurted out "I liked him...he had beautiful eyelashes!" Someone said it was ad-libbed, not written in the script, but zany nonetheless and nobody said "what now??" That reminds me of what I have read about how strongly Caroll O'Connor reacted to dialogue written for Archie Bunker. I'd would like to read that script.
  22. Hoping for better health for Ms. Roberts. This has got to be one of the weirdest cases of miscommunication that I have heard.
  23. It would probably be very juicy, 😆. Someone kinda tried with that podcast series years ago but it had too few perspectives. Also, the focus was too generalized, not enough specificity. I always enjoy reading the oral history of a film, or any account where people actually go "on the record" about what happened BTS od a show. And you're right, with cancelled soaps those who worked on the show would feel freer to be candid about what it was like. I'd love to hear from the writers in particular, as there are so few left from the Golden Ages of daytime soaps to talk about it. We have lost so many already. Why aren't we getting everyone else's narrative?
  24. It's my understanding that the call was not leaked, it was released. Raffensperger, whose office recorded the call, instructed that the call not be released UNLESS there was some attack on any state officials, or a mischaracterization of what took place in the call. My understanding is that one or both of those thresholds were crossed, so the recording of the call was released. That's just my understanding of the situation.
  25. So this was the "model Paul" that everyone has been speaking of, lol. I don't think I got to see but a handful of episodes, if that, the entire 1996, with being crazy busy with school and then having an intense internship that summer. I tried to watch this episode yesterday but quickly got bored.
