In Topic: Y&R- SPOILER/SPUMOUR Legacy Character returning?
Posted 16 Mar 2010
I would love for Amber to be gone-I have never had the slightest interest in her annoying persona.
Trouble is,with so much wrong on Y&R these days,it wouldn't make much difference.
There is so much that needs to be done to set the show back on track.
How nice to see you posting Mark! -
In Topic: Strangest peice of merchandise for a soap?

i think from time to time P&G used to have stuff available related to the shows. You had to send in labels/boxtops etc from P&G products to score Liza's necklace from SFT etc. -
In Topic: If soaps had stayed 30 minutes...
Posted 16 Mar 2010
If...who knows??
Anyway,I like the idea of the networks having one 60 min show each-say Days,ATWT and AMC with all others being 30 min.
With everything an hour the schedules are blocked and there is less flexibility in programming- in the 70's you had gameshows and reruns in there as well and if one 30 min soap was cancelled there was room for something new.
As a viewer you could follow shows more easily-watch 3 shows in 90 mins as opposed to a 3 hr commitment.
Also there was more counter programming,so if soaps were your thing you could watch almost every show as only a few clashed.
30 min shows were easier to follow due to smaller casts.I know this could be restrictive to the writers but the opposite largely occurred with 60 mins;the shows moved away from the core, there were huge casts and frontburner stories were handed to new characters which ultimately damaged the identity of the shows.
Of course B&B shows that it's not the length of the shows but the quality and integrity of the writers and producers that counts in the end. -
In Topic: Favorite ghostly visits?
Posted 14 Mar 2010
On AMC Tad had a visit from Ray(his father)Did Kim Delaney appear as a ghost along with Jesse?
On GL Maureen made some ghostly visits to Michelle.
Isabella on Days also appeared as a ghost.
Does anyone know which show first did this?
Was it used previously to the 90's? -
In Topic: Most frustrating/annoying retcons
Posted 12 Mar 2010
Jill is Kay' daughter-since changed but the adopted child retcon remains.
Katherine switched babies.
On DOOL,Neil Curtis is actually Allen Jackson, even though we saw other relatives with surname Curtis.
Sarah Horton is really Neil's daughter.
Marlena married Alex before coming to Salem
