Oh god, Dufour was a HORRIBLE Latham pet at Y&R. Her scripts were cringe-worthy if I remember correctly, and her comments during the strike made me hate her much more. LOL!

If she's as bad as is being said, that's probably why the show was so boring today

Oh eww. What was Pratt thinking?
Wasn't she the one that made those idiotic comments about working at Nordstrom during the writer's strike?

Dufour was the one who bragged about Latham making Y&R the most unsoapy soap on the air and how that was a good thing and how ridiculous the show WASN'T. Yeah, she clearly kissed a lot of ass to get a job on the writing team there.

I can see why Pratt hired her, he's making AMC unrecognizable, and Latham made Y&R unrecognizable. She'll fit right in on his team

Nope, I didn't know. Wow, this is pretty surprising.
Alvin, do you have that quote?

Keep in mind, Latham made this 25 year old the Script Editor after only a few months.
Some parts that made me roll my eyes:
I majored in television production and landed an internship at "Y&R." I was hired in 2004 and I quickly moved up the ranks. I became a writer in 2006.
Meeting Lynn Marie Latham. (Current striking executive producer/head writer.) Hollywood is all about timing and who you meet. There are so many talented people out here. Lynn became an incredible mentor to me.
The creative freedom I have to shape the final product. I'm doing what I love to do. I'm living out my childhood dream.
None. When Lynn Latham took over, her goal was to make the show as real as possible. She is a primetime writer, so "Y&R" is arguably the most "unsoapy" soap on the air currently. Oh wait, we did have someone get plastic surgery to look exactly like another woman so she could steal her baby… never mind.

Great a script writer who clearly thinks that "writing for daytime" is beneath her.

...now THAT'S comedy.
She literally went from writers' assistant to script writer to breakdown writer to SCRIPT EDITOR in about ten seconds.
I'm all for promoting from within, but that was just ridiculous and absurd - and clearly showed in the quality of the work.

Alvin, correct me if I'm wrong, but they were the only non-Lechowicks to be let go after the strike, right?

That was such a "WTF" moment. Who did she replace as Script Editor? Janice Ferri Esser? Yeah, let's replace the 16+ year veteran with someone who's been writing for the show for a couple of months. What was LML thinking! LOL
I'm not sure about that. In college, she did a soap opera talk show, so she clearly loves soaps.

'Tis true. She is a soap fan.
I'll just be really disgusted if Lynsey Dufour makes it at AMC, when Sara Bibel was barely given a chance.

Yep, they were the only two along with Lynn and Bernard.
Maria got rid of most of Latham's other friends, family, and pets gradually after that when their contract cycles were up.

I wish it were the Stanleys, James and Dianne (Messina). They were (and are) the Lechowicks' closest friends and collaborators; and their work, IMO, just plain sucks. (Anyone who's seen "Strong Medicine" on Lifetime knows what I mean.) Chances are, though, it'll be two people who are inconsequential, like Jay Gibson and Paula Cwikly.
