Lastly, you should be asking why a female woman of color (MVJ) seems to get off on making the black men get yelled at and abused. Going through her X/Twitter profile.. that woman has serious daddy issues and a lot of hostility toward men. Perhaps the powers that be above her could help provide her and her female EP's and female Co-head writer some mental help to deal with their issues... or perhaps teach them how to harness that into writing an actual good story and program.

Many of us agree that the black staff should not be yelled at by their white bosses in the way it's been depicted.

However, separate from that, I completely disagree that it can be concluded from MVJ's social media that she has daddy issues about men. And I completely disagree that MVJ and other women producers have mental health issues regarding men. Just wtf no.

I think, if anything, I could "theorize" from your posting history that you have issues with female soap characters being portrayed as having power -- but to be honest, I obviously don't know you personally and could be very wrong.

To be legitimate, I could really only speak from my own personal life experience about myself. As an elderly female, I have had many decades of frustration having very little women of power to watch on TV; and therefore, I watched the original Charmed over and over, and I watched Xena over and over; and the female captain/officers on Star Trek: Voyager.
Regarding soaps, I found 1980s kick-ass Anna Devane on GH to be a revelation, and I hate the weepy mess that character is now.

I have absolutely no problem with BTG having predominately female characters, and I think that's a feature, not a bug. Granted, in an ideal world, everything would be balanced, but since most of the world is male-dominated, I am fine with BTG being a female-dominated show. I am grateful every day that most of the people in charge of BTG are women.

Edit to add:
I said I loved the female captain/officers on Star Trek: Voyager.
Captain Kathryn Janeway was portrayed by Kate Mulgrew who started off as Mary Ryan Fenelli on the soap Ryan's Hope.

Kate Mulgrew and Michele Val Jean both posted when writer/producer Jeri Taylor died.
Jeri Taylor created the character of Captain Janeway.

Mulgrew and Val Jean posted these tributes on October 24 and October 25, 2024, less than a week before the first "table reading" of BTG.

Jeri Taylor was responsible, in large part, for changing my life. She was elegant, erudite, and fiercely opinionated. She wanted Kathryn Janeway to be a significant part of her legacy and I think there is no doubt that in that endeavor she succeeded.
I owe her a debt of gratitude.
May she rest in peace.

This woman is the reason I exist as a writer. Her name is Jeri Taylor. I was her assistant on Magnum, Heat of the Night, Jake & The Fatman, where she gave me my first script and started my career. I owe her everything and she’s gone. Rest now, Jeri. I love you forever

Yes, Joey knows that Heather is the Impaler. She directly told him this. This comes back to two issues I have with the show. One is the lack of showing and the constant telling us what happened. Had

There is nothing that screams classic, pre-80’s soap to me about how the stories are told, paced, and executed on this show. The assertion that viewers watching somehow can’t appreciate that type of s

I honestly don't think anyone here hates the show, but that is my perspective. I think people are frustrated because they had high hopes for the show. Maybe that was a mistake for some of us to expect

Am I the only one who doesn’t see anything wrong with Joey yelling at his employees? I’m sure he would have acted exactly the same if it had been a white employee. He was angry about losing the tail on Vanessa. That’s what motivated him to yell. If Joey was black, I’d expect him to act the same way.

The fact is that Joey's employees all seem to be Black or POC.

In addition, a boss can show how upset he is at employees without being condescending and demeaning.

Joey is very menacing when he tells off Heather, yet it comes off different than when he talks to his Black employees. Even how he addressed Andre was problematic in tone.
