I had hoped for July, but will August be the month where Kirsten Dimera...I mean Hayley is unmasked???

Next week's preview looked great! Can't wait for tomorrow's ep.

I'm looking forward to a Kat/Randy meet. Kat the detective is my favorite part about her. It's messy and fun.

I'm looking forward to the formation of Andre's back story, his time away from Fairmont Crest as a globe-trotting photographer.

As I said last month, I was hoping for an all-new character to be the one watching Andre simply to have not one but two promising new plotlines. But if it is indeed Heather (which I considered the other promising new thread) then at least we know Ashley Jones is more than up to the task of mixing it up with Sean Freeman and KM. Provided of course it doesn't lead to another 9 months of Heather making vague threats and doing virtually nothing, which is what the Hayley story has become.

In regards to Heather, I think the show was trying to slowly ease her into the show by having her appear for an episode or two before leaving the area to supervise her other territories. So far, I've liked her rapport with Joey and Vanessa so I'm intrigued to see how she will be opposite some of the other characters on the show.

The one thing I can safely say is that she and Joey definitely use humor to mask their own emotions over their upbringings.

Heather and Joey are also very similar to the Zacchara mob 'siblings' (Claudia and Johnny) from GH for me atm with their quasi-incestuous vibe. That was a feature for me with the gothic Zaccharas and not a bug, and the same goes here. MVJ was on the Guza team that did that story near the end of her time at ABC. That whole vibe seems to turn a lot of people off on social media, but I think it makes them more toxic and interesting. Pseudo-incest vibes on daytime are as old as the hills, going back at the very least to Mac Cory and Iris on AW.

I find Joey disgusting, and I don't even want to watch episodes that he's in. He's a major turn-off for the show for me. On days when Joey is on, I watch only clips. I just cannot abide that character AT ALL.
I don't find creepy characters to be entertaining. I just don't.

Joey is definitely creepy. Him killing Doug so he could have Vanessa to himself and now seemingly trying to alienate her children (mainly Deanna) from her are equally disturbing. He needs to be exposed soon because that sort of character has a short shelf life on soaps, IMO.

If Joey had Doug killed (which we were led to believe was the case), and Leslie attempted to murder Laura (which we were led to believe was the case) and Hayley is trying to poison Bill Hamilton (which is evidently the case), there's not much way to "redeem" those three characters.

MVJ seems to believe we'll "forgive" Joey & Leslie (I dunno why), and she's gonna have Hayley work in slow-motion to d-r-a-g that storyline out until doomsday.

If MVJ is insistent on keeping Joey long-term, then the only way to partially redeem him is to reveal that Doug isn't died and that he arranged for Doug to be kept safe... but that would most likely be a complete rewrite and weaken an already shaky story and character. Some not wanting to watch a show/episode if Joey is on is a bit extreme and that requires some serious soul searching and perhaps some therapy.

In regards to SPS/Leslie, the show had Phyllis function on Y & R for years even though we all knew that she ran over Chris and Paul so I don't understand why that is an issue for some if SPS/Leslie is given that same treatment. It isn't as though she's given the princess/queen treatment by the other characters.

Hopefully the recent momentum of the Hayley poisoning story is maintained and followed through on because she's been poisoning that man for almost 200 episodes with little to no movement. I know that this plot has some resemblances to the infamous Janice/Mac/Rachel situation on AW, but Janice was only on the soap for around 15 to 16 months... so hopefully MVJ and co are going to resolve it soon since this story has been going on for 17 months and counting.
