I'm curious if anyone else finds monthly threads harder to catch up on once they get really long. Sometimes I miss a few days and feel completely lost. Funny enough, I had the same issue in a discussion where someone mentioned Pro Ride Limo while talking about keeping conversations organized, and it made me wonder whether weekly threads would be easier for casual readers. What do most people here prefer?

Monthly (for all). I feel like daily or even weekly topics will get much traction overall. Monthly seems to engage the most overall.

Monthly works the best for the volume of posts that come. It's been a long time since daily or weekly threads are sustainable. If monthly threads runs too many pages long then a second monthly thread

  • I'm voting monthly for every soap. Count me among the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" voters.

I sure do! Like the GH and BTG threads get huge. IMO there should be a cut off after awhile cause of getting so big

Well at least it's not the days when the BTG thread was running 150 pages easy. ;D

Ehhhh... one long thread is still better than 20 or more new, smaller threads that'll probably range from having like 5 posts on one day to like 55 posts on another day.

I personally don’t mind going back and reading over pages for discussions I’ve missed.

Daily threads thus far do not seem popular across the five polls, though weekly is something many might be okay with for certain shows, while others likely should maintain the monthly format. Either way, the plan is to go with whatever the membership decides after the polls close.

I will note that if the combined daily/weekly votes exceed the total monthly votes, we will likely go with weekly for that particular show. Polls close on Monday, June 29, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

I voted for Monthly, but now I regret my vote... I would pick Weekly if I could change it. Hashtag - stupidme. 😄

Really hope for monthly wins.

I am voting for weekly for BTG. (Especially the cotillion and crossover would have benefited from dedicated threads for those weeks.)

I am voting for monthly for Y&R, B&B, and DAYS.

For GH, I could see weekly or monthly, but I'm choosing weekly.

Not part of the voting ... but I think this would affect the voting:
You said we can initiate separate threads about whatever's happening such as,
"the argument between characters xyz and 123" or "the scheme that character 456 is plotting", or "character A giving flowers to character B", etc. Is that still true? If so, then sometimes such a topic could be for one episode, one week, or ongoing for weeks/months. If these types of threads become more common, then that might affect the number of posts in weekly or monthly discussion threads.

The monthly thread was never intended to be a catch-all for all topics about any one particular show, which is why I started making changes on the website. Any topic can be discussed in its own post/thread, whether it gets 2 responses or 100.

To that point and to better organize things, I created the individual show forums and spent significant design time to make it easier to see which forum one is in when responding to a topic. So, yes, that is still true.
