Jack: "Andre Richardson the photographer? We have tried to hire you several times"
Yeah another reminder that the Andre character seems to be inspired by Malcolm Winters.

  • I personally don't think that disliking White Savior Joey is an indication the character is working. If it's a choice between King Joey and Duprees Strong, I choose neither.

-- Production for this episode was top-notch. This is soap opera from the good old days. Just really impressive.

-- I have quibbles with some of the lines characters were given, but I'm majorly impressed with how so many characters were integrated in a way that seemed real and authentic. It's not easy to weave characters that way while giving every actor something to do, but they pulled it off.

-- All those extras? My God...it doesn't get any better. I truly believed we were at a campaign event.

-- Wardrobe and hair were off-the-chart perfect. This show knows style and how to do an event so that it's an EVENT.

-- I've been critical of Clown Leslie, but I thought she was used brilliantly today in every one of her scenes.

-- I will ignore that Victor is a criminal because his scenes -- especially the Martin intro -- were so effective. This is the Victor I want on Y&R...someone who's like Eric Braeden in real life hehe

-- Bill is so over Hayley, and I love it. "Maybe you can get your own drink." 😂

-- Quibbles?

I'm over grieving widow Ashley, who in my eyes is still making Derek's death about her.

I needed some dialogue to explain why Jack and Diane are all of a sudden a happily married couple. It's a crossover, right? So don't ignore what's happening on Y&R. Diane could have said they were going to fake it for the cameras and crowd.

Kyle flirting like that with Hayley? Fun to see, but that's the Kyle we need on Y&R -- a guy with a bad boy side. It just reminded me that this isn't who Kyle is.

I wanted Nicole to light into Vanessa for bringing Mobster Joey to the fundraiser. Who the hell does Vanessa think she is? She is SCUM, and she is NOT a good friend to anyone there.

I'd swap out Vanessa and Joey and get June to that affair, along with Tyrell and Samantha.

Tomas was written as too tone-deaf in his talk with Jack. I'm on record as being no AA fan, but the character works better when he's shrewd and not an idiot. The whole thing made Bill look worse, too.

We're getting the "trapped in the elevator" thing with Dani and Bill? UGH.

Vanessa is a total B-word. She is not a friend to Nicole and Nicole should drop her.

Kat could have better handled getting Eva away from that reporter, but of course she had to talk down to Eva again.

For the most part they paired up the characters for the crossover well. Tomas practically begging Jack for business was embarrassing, but that was clearly the intent of the scene.

Hayley didn't need to take off her rings to talk to Kyle because I don't think Kyle would have really cared if she is married or not.

Leslie being irritated by Diane's truth about seeking forgiveness was quite a highlight for me. She was so out of line bringing up Diane's past misdeeds. But Leslie did do a good deed by talking down to Anastacia.

I am looking forward to tomorrow and hope that it is excellent.

Naomi looks amazing today. I love the hair change.

Naomi and surprisingly Ashley were the best dressed woman. For the men I would say Ted and Isiah were the best dressed.

I’ll be 100% honest and say that if Joey were played by a black or even Latino actor I wouldn’t be bothered by his control and story focus on canvas.

I said it once and I will say it again: if Joey was black the show would be accused of pushing negative stereotypes. Joey has to be white and his sister has to be white. If Heather was a biracial woman that still could be a problem for the show. BTG is in it's beginning stages. It has to be white kingpins/queenpins first. Then the black or latino ones might come later.

I think this is where the NAACP being one of the groups involved in the production is apparent.

I've heard this mentioned, and that may be so, but I don't think what we're seeing is a successful solution.

The Anastasia actress still screams budget Jasmine Guy to me! Get the real one, BTG, she’s ATL based!

Well I think the other issue that some people say the mafia references are outdated because in real life the mafia has supposedly lost more of it's power. I'm unsure if it's true or not because I wasn't born in the big city and I'm not a criminal.

My question is: how does a soap opera integrate the ideas of corruption or at least an uneasy alliance between politicians and criminals? Especially white collar ones?

Jasmine is definitely too expensive for the show's budget.

And it would seem to me like they're being very selective about perceived stereotypical black behaviors. They don't want black male/female gangsters but seem perfectly fine with black male adulterers back to back served up with skeevy flashbacks/explanations for their behavior. Nicole doing whatever in God's name she's doing and not looking very clean doing it. Dani, instead of maintaining self-respect, kisses her cheating ex-husband three times (and likely counting) and is playing in the face of her current husband. Detective Malone is supposed to be a cop but is also a paid killer once he smells the right amount of money, and of course there's Leslie and her ghetto EVERYTHING! Like I said, the NAACP must be absurdly selective.

Right on all counts.

I think it is strange that Victor didn't get a send-off scene before the tornado hit. It could have been extremely short -- maybe 30 seconds, with Vernon reminding Victor that the weather was getting threatening, and Victor replying that his pilot had just suggested they be on their way back to Wisconsin because of the approaching storm. Then a quick thank you and good-bye from Vernon and Martin, and Victor is out the door.

It's funny how things like this appear so meaningless when they actually mean so much.

Good episode. They really didn't even need the Y&R people to make this event great. Only Victor really added anything. Victor's speech was great, especially what he said about being touched Martin adopted children, not babies, as he himself was older when he was abandoned. Such a great point.

Diane and Abby looked really great. I've noticed Y&R actresses almost always look better on other shows or even on the Soapy podcast. The styling or lighting on Y&R is terrible. Does Chelsea really go around at her cousin's fundraiser telling everyone she used to do threesomes?

Anastasia and Leslie interacting was fun. Anastasia was spitting truth at Ashley! Ashley's presence added nothing. Maybe being up in the suite, she'll be the first to get blown away.

Vanessa did a great job doing the smiling for the crowd but inwardly seething thing when everyone wanted to kick her out. Love that Joey didn't care. Heather really got under his skin! I like the interpersonal aspects of this story, just hate the Impaler nonsense and she even runs around in a cloak, groan.

Nice Kat and Eva banter... wondering if this crisis will draw them closer.

These dresses were much better than the cotillion. The BTG ladies looked stunning. Not that I miss them or anything, but it was strange that Samantha and Tyrell weren't there.

Hayley pulled a Jill Abbott, slipping her ring on and off, hah! Is Claire and Kyle really that big of news that it makes national gossip?

I usually find the Duprees annoying but it was nice that Martin, Vernon, and Anita were staying behind to make sure their guests got out safely. Looks like Martin will pay for it!

Yes. I think BTG gets so many things right, and the show is especially good at producing "events" -- which is amazing in the soap opera genre in 2026, when budgets continue to tighten. But often plots (or even individual episodes) of BTG are missing small details that would help the audience know what is going on. Today's episode was wonderful. My only two criticisms are 1.) Victor didn't get a send-off scene, and 2.) The tornado came way too quickly without enough foreshadowing -- especially after Martin announced the Tornado watch...then BAM!! Somebody in the writer's room doesn't know much about tornados. But otherwise, impressive episode.
