Count me in as one that really enjoyed the Hayley flashback episode. I'm just catching up and finishing Friday's episode - good stuff! I don't watch Y&R, so I don't have as much vested interested, but a tornado will be fun!

I may have missed it, but Naomi and Jacob actually live in Washington, DC, correct? Jacob works for the MPD, I would think they actually live in the city limits.

It's the (fictional) Barrington County.

I think it's supposed to be just outside DC in some small suburb, which probably has a fairly generic name like Highland Park or Brentwood. I believe the closest city is supposed to be Washington DC.

Sooner or later, someone in charge will give a name to the town. Fairmont Crest must be within a municipality, because they have a police department. If the community was just out in the unincorporated suburbs, they would have sheriff's department, not a police department. On the other hand, a few months ago another posters said the police department and the hospital were in Washington DC. I don't think that is correct, because a police department would serve only within the city limits. The Washington DC police would not cross the state line and go into the Maryland suburbs to provide services.

The only reason I think this is somewhat important is that it is occasionally awkward when a line in the script needs to use the location, but the script writers have to avoid saying it. If the scene is taking place within the gated community, then "Fairmont Crest" makes sense. But where is Orphie Jeans? Where is Uptown? Where is the hospital? Where is Bill's office? I doubt they are in Washington DC. I assume they are in a small town, a bedroom community very close to DC, but not within the DC city limits. As you said, the small city would likely have a generic name like Highland Park or Brentwood. They can't dance around this forever, just as General Hospital and The Doctors eventually chose to reveal the names of their locations. It will become more and more awkward to avoid it as time goes by.

Your guess is as good as mine 😅

I think Elon is the police chief of "Metro Police Department", which evidently covers all parts of the DC metro area, regardless of county, state, and district lines -- although we know it doesn't work that way in real life.

Orphey Gene's appears to be in DC, being based on the Florida Avenue Grill, in the 1100 block of Florida Ave NW in DC. I'm guessing Uptown is in DC, too, although I don't know what it's supposed to be based on (other than a green paint nightmare). Not sure about Bill's office, but I suspect DC for that one too.

OH - I didn't realize this was the lady playing Joey's sister - I like her! She's strong and natural too. I like that Joey seems to be on good terms with her too. LOL at her looking like a Traitor up in the turret though upon her reveal.

MPD only serves inside of DC. The don't serve any parts of MD or VA.

It's all good though, there is where I will loudly say it's soap. Suspension of disbelief is in full effect. 🙃

I usually watch live feeds on tvpass.org That site seems to have died a couple of days ago. Oh well, I can wait a few hours until it's uploaded to cbs.com

Thoughts:

  • I am not surprised that Vanessa reached out to Dani over Nicole. That is a smart decision.

  • Looks like this visitor is someone who Joey was not expecting, but they were expecting Joey. That is very interesting.

  • Of course Dana is overhearing the power players of Genoa City arriving in Fairmont Crest for Martin's fundraiser.

  • My God... Jacob is really being a real negative Nancy to every single person checking in on him, except for Katherine. That is very, very telling.

  • Joey assuming Heather is an associate of the Impaler and not even thinking she herself could be the Impaler is laughable.

  • Wow. Heather is truly a deeper, darker version of Joey. And going to London? That feels quite rich and very like Heather. I love seeing her perk Joey's interest by simply being in his presence. And BHAM! She ~is~ the Impaler. That is excellent. I know Joey is probably crapping in his pants.

  • I get that Jacob has some feelings about Derek and his death, but much like Ashley, taking it out on those who care for you is not the answer, and I hope they know this deep down.

  • Oh, Heather holds a grudge because of how their father wanted her to fall into traditional roles that men seem to have for women. And there is nothing more dangerous than a woman scorned or with a desire to exact revenge.

  • Dani is right: Joey's apartment is absolutely not what I would have expected from him, but it suits him. Although seeing both Dani and Vanessa in the apartment, it does suit them so well.

  • Dana wanting Eva to swap out Izaiah for herself at the fundraiser is laughable.

  • Dani calling out glaringly alarming details that Vanessa is kind of smoothing over is appropriate. It shows that while she accepts Vanessa's decision, she is also going to call out things that are not going to work in the long run.

  • So, the Impaler is removing herself from the DMV, but it sounds like she wants to plant herself within the DMV in other arenas.

  • So, based on Izaiah and Jacob's conversation, Darlene came around to Naomi simply because she is a Dupree, and Eva's non-relation to that makes her less than both the Duprees and the Hawthornes. I suspected that.

  • Dana saying she will behave is another red flag that she will NOT behave and will find a way to act a fool.

  • Vanessa, let it be a glaring red flag that Joey needed to give permission for your friend to come and visit you. And Joey, what catastrophy did you avoid? 🤣

  • So Joey is just not going to tell Vanessa that Heather is the Impaler? That sounds like a dangerous game to play and puts Vanessa in direct line of danger. Smart. Very smart. /sarcasm

  • Oh, Dani's little "good" remarks felt very pointed and a bit mischievous. I like that.

  • Megan, why would you mention the donating and hefty pricing?

Notes:

  • Slater and Tate did exceptional work with the script work today. Again, Slater brings such a classic flow to the scripts they break down, and Tate is solid in their dialogue.

  • Welcome to Beyond the Gates, Ashley Jones. Surprised at how much I am buying her in the role of Heather right now. However, someone like Sarah Joy Brown would have absolutely been more compelling and a bit more rooted for the material that I know is surely about to come.

  • I semi-appreciate them keeping Dana's character trait in the realm of money and consumption of it; it shows that she has not walked into money with the right mindset.
