I'm glad they're using the character, but I never cared for Hansis on ATWT (except the Reid Olliver story, but that was more ESS). They never wrote much for Carnes, but the portrayals are like night and day. That's JMO.

Ahhh gotcha. I've never seen Carnes' portrayal, so haven't been able to compare. I remember liking Van in ATWT, but his GH role is only the second thing I've seen him in. I think he's good, but I get it if he's playing Lucas differently and it's odd for long-time viewers.

How about we let each long time viewer speak for themselves. I don't agree that Van is bad in the role. He's different, but he's good.

To each their own. I don't think he's completely awful, but someone needs to rein in the OTT facial expressions, and that starts with Jenz "Monkeyshines" Sidwell and, yes, Lucas. I would prefer someone else, but he serves his purpose. This is the way #firefrank runs the show. At least the Golden Girls and Knots Landing references are dropped. (For now).

hopefully, he's a love interest for Pascal, and Marc Forget is bumped up to main cast. He has a lot of charisma for a henchman/side character and can act too.

I love Van as Lucas, I think he's been my favorite so far. I loved Ryan for the younger years and what the early 2000's were able to do, but now, as a gay man, I want to see real representation in media and Van portrays something that Ryan just couldn't.

he's been pretty dead-behind-the-eyes since he came on the show, like Rebecca Herbst when she was with Finn. He needs to WAKE UP or he can go. lol
