Ratings for the week January 5-9, 2026

CRAP!!! I know I shouldn't be but BTG ratings are so disappointing to me because I really enjoy the show. But, we have no clue what the delayed viewing numbers are or how it does on Paramount+. I just wish CBS had announced BTG renewal today with the 10 other scripted dramas. That would certainly calm my uneasiness.

SMH. Sad to see these BTG numbers especially since I kind of liked the last three episodes. The Impaler storyline is looking like one of those great umbrella stories. Still, this show has to get those numbers up. They've got to. There's no other way around it.

You can't spin those BTG numbers. Winterfest was a missed opportunity to build momentum (nothing happened), and going all in on Anita's cancer as the umbrella story is a choice.

GH's numbers look steady. There are some issues, but it's the best all-around soap right now.

Good to see B&B continue its great season in W18-49. It has a real shot of taking the season crown from Y&R in that demo. That said, it's strange to see it even in W18-49 YOY yet down a full tenth YOY (along with GH & Y&R) in W25-54.

Worst retention yet of B&B's demos for BTG at 54% W18-49 & 66% W25-54. What's ironic is that last week it had its best W25-54 hold since April. Hopefully that bought the show some leeway.

Those BTG numbers make me nervous. I thought the well done eps over the holidays would help gain some traction, unless it's all in the streaming numbers.

I watched every episode of BTG for the first seven months or so. But, now I go days without watching, and sometimes I'll only watch for a few minutes.

I soooo badly want this show to succeed, but to be honest, it's just felt so boring for so long now. It feels like nothing is happening and there is no story movement. There are definitely no twists and turns, so there's no urgency to watch. I thought something would finally happen once we found out Hayley's plan, but all she's done for weeks is make tea for Bill. YAWN.

While I think the Anita cancer story is an important one, it's practically been the whole show for weeks now. There's not enough stuff to balance it out. We all know Anita's going to come through this, and Dani is certainly not going to get cancer and die.

I need more surprises, more cliffhangers, and not endless conversations about the same things.

One thing I think has been missing from the show from the start has been there is no "starstruck couple" who are being kept apart and that we can root for. What's the closest? Andre and Dani? They're already married.

CBS can't be happy that the demos are now what The Talk was doing.

I just hope that they make the show compelling again before CBS loses interest. That would be so sad and horrible for the future of the genre.

Well I think it's been getting its momentum back slowly but surely and we are getting cliffhangers again.

That said...if the numbers are in streaming than CBS messing up their dropping of episodes (last week and this one) aren't going to help the numbers either.

It's going to take a while to sift through, but last week was the fourth most-watched week for Beyond the Gates on record.

Well that's good to hear since I've been giving my app (which I hate using) a workout trying to keep up because BTG isn't getting posted properly and/or timely on my tv system. It seems like they are intentionally not posting one episode a week. This week it was Thursday. Last week it was Tuesday. And this week it was ALMOST Tuesday again, but it just showed up uncharacteristically late. Since Y&R and B&B appear to be fine (I haven't done my binge for the week on B&B)...I can't help but side-eye.

Noticed GH viewers is over 2M plus previous week was also over 2M. Way to go GH with improved numbers all around!

MVJ needs to step down as HW of BTG. She's not good at it. PERIOD.
