Melinda is involved in a lot of things, but she is used sparingly.

Is she only in private practice now, or does she work for anyone else?  I recall she's not the DA, because EJ got her out over the Jude stuff, and then she worked for Dimera, but got kidnapped and fired.  So, now is she's just an ethically compromised lawyer, but overall kind-hearted person?  She'd be a cool talk-to for Belle.  But, I can't recall if Belle has a reason to hate Melinda (I know she doesn't like EJ, so one assumes that would color her advice to Belle).

I would assume Belle hates Melinda too since Eric's her brother and Jude's her nephew lol.

I’ve always really enjoyed Melinda, and there was another actress before this in the role that I also enjoyed quite a bit. I’d like to see more of her.

I like Melinda too, but I don't know if that's a popular opinion overall.  The show uses her so rarely I think her feelings and motivations get lost in the shuffle.  It would be nice if the show fleshed the character out a bit more.

-- Tate and Aaron SCREAMING at each other in at the Brady Pub was a bit much. More than a bit much? Tate forgiving Aaron immediately is ridiculous. I understand wanting to move the story along, but jeez.

Leo Howard really does have trouble playing anger and the guy playing Aaron isn't much better.  I don't mind Tate forgiving Aaron so quickly, but I didn't like Holly, Tate, and Aaron planning to gang up on Sophia and take her down.  The men should both speak to her privately.  Holly can be mad about what was done to her, but the baby is not any of her business.

It was obvious from the beginning. His acting is limited.

I sure miss.....

Same.

I'll always wonder what happened to make both JMM and Madeline Kientz bolt so early on.  The story would be much better if they were still around.

Any day with Leo on is a good day. Enjoyed his scenes with EJ. I don’t like Cwikly/Ford. Their stuff should be much more interesting by now. They’ve been there for months. Nothing is gelling. The show is just a bunch of scenes with nothing really tying anything together.

Some scattered thoughts from today’s episode:

First, I can remember being 18 more clearly than whatever age Thomas is supposed to be. But even then, I don’t recall elementary school teachers showing up in leather jackets. -- For reference, in elementary school, our faculty stood at the entry, and we had to bow our heads to them as we passed.  So, times have changed.

The blackout storyline feels like ages ago, but I’m curious whether EJ will actually face consequences for the business losses tied to the looting. It was mentioned more than shown, but there’s potential.  Then, by the end of the episode, it seemed Leo is going to get distracted by Stephanie's alias.  Because that's the only thing EJ has to offer Leo at this point.

It is so dumb to have Leo decide his story was over, before consulting Chad.  Not his call to make over his editor.  Just write the story, dopey.  Go follow the lead to talk to the electrician, don't sit there and gossip.  And why do people constantly bring up Dimitri to Leo?  They don't mention Nicole to EJ?  The dude's clearly moved on.

Nu-Jeremy made a strong first impression. I don’t have any history with the actor, but he seems instantly soap-ready—good teeth, strong jaw, and a solid build. He’s got that polished energy that fits right in. I’m also quietly hoping we get the return of the Horton menorah this Hanukkah. I still remember Mike lighting the candles with Robin, and it would be a nice touch.

Stephanie’s reaction to the trash flowers was effective. Given how charming Nu-Jeremy appears on the surface, it was unsettling to see how clearly she’s still afraid of him.

One thing I’m wondering: does Stephanie have other books to edit, or did she write this one overnight?

And finally, does anyone else think of Alexandra Beaverhausen—Karen Walker’s favorite alias on Will & Grace, whenever Stephanie mentions being anonymous.

He definitely played Tate more like an innocent, vulnerable teen.

I wonder how he would've handled all of this

The Jeremy and Chad scenes were my favourite today. Chad desperately needed someone on his side, and to have Jeremy do it in a way that tows the line about whether he's truly a changed man really worked. On one hand, his non-judgmental attitude could be completely genuine and made me happy to see a new friendship blossom, but on the other hand he seemed to have almost an antipathy for his family. When he mentioned Julie forgiving Nick for being a murderer and all the rest, it made me question if there was a deep seated jealousy or rage there.  However, I also noticed he vaguely mentioned that he found his faith, so hopefully he meant his Jewish faith and that we'll some examples of that with the holiday coming up.

Now, if Jeremy's support prompts Chad to still try and be with Cat, I hope Cat finally gets some major agency and tells him to kick rocks for trying to drag her heart through the mud again. I can envision a whole scene in my head where she finally just crashes out on him and it would be glorious. I do think she's headed for EJ's bed, and hopefully not Rafe's, and them both picking up a copy of Wuthering Heights drove that home for me.

Leo is bothering me less these days because I genuinely think his guarantee was lowered and since I have a feeling we're stuck with him, I'm trying to cope.

Alex and Jeremy was exciting to me, because there really are NO RIVALRIES AT ALL on this show and it depresses me to think about. We need RIVALRIES for the love of God.

And I must have been feeling generous, because I was actually happy to see Roman today. Josh Taylor looked damn good for his age, too. Now, please have a scene with Abe, and Jeremy needs to reunite with Maggie, since she was the only one who gave a damn about him (a.k.a was the only one around) last time he was in town.

Agreed.

If they go there with Alex and Jeremy, I hope they go all out with it. And also not make it so lopsided in favor of one of them.

The search for Sophia is on... even though her possible hiding place makes her look really stupid 😂

I like how many characters are being weaved into this. Once this is all said and done, this could have huge ripple effects across the canvas for every character involved. And even though I never really liked Amy, I do like that Tate and Holly finally clued her in on everything that's been going on. I expected her to be all douchy about it though lol I was also impressed by how Brady took control today. He worked very well today with Johnny, and also with Amy and Steve. This change in his character was definitely the right decision. He's finally an adult again.

Holly possibly going to work for Stephanie could be interesting too.

Speaking of Stephanie, I think it's time to wrap up this One Stormy Night thing and fully transition into the next storyline for her and Alex and everyone around them. I feel like they've made too much out of Stephanie's "big" reveal as the author and they continued to do so today. Like, where do they go from here once everyone finds out that she wrote the book? I don't see any drama or conflict that can be mined from that. And besides, both Stephanie and Alex are involved in much more interesting, and better storylines already, which makes this all even more unnecessary to me.

I'm also interested in seeing where Gabi and Philip go from here as well, and if she decides to bring GabiChic over to Titan. The two of them and Stephanie/Alex could all be tied together with the business, Xander/Sarah, Brady etc. in one big mess that I'd really love to see. And, Philip did look hot at the end too 😍😂

And, I'm glad that Steve decided not to retire and will continue to honor John's legacy, and that Bo and Hope are also working for BlackPatch.

I’ve recently decided to embark on a sober journey which has left me with a lot of free time on weekends (which have become very productive) but I still have a lot of hours left in the day, so I’ve decided to start on a days of our lives binge and I found the lady who posts classic episodes from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. This lady has full years and almost every episode going back to 1984. I ofcourse wanted to start at 1984 but the episodes aren’t converted yet for viewing (only for download). So I will wait patiently and enjoy the episodes from 2001 onwards. Many of you are probably already aware of this person so I won’t share the link here unless someone sends me a personal message.

I was not watching during these years except for seeing it on tv in the background here and there. The beginning of 2001 starts with Bo and Hope’s extravagant wedding, Shawn and Belle ice skating and discovering a dead body, Philip and Chloe being incredibly awkward (but cute.. maybe they’ll grow on me), Sami scheming with Brandon to get a certain tape that will incriminate Lucas so she can get custody of Will, Nicole’s shenanigans with seducing Victor. Very interesting stuff and I have a feeling I will be very preoccupied for awhile. I think the whole princess Gina storyline is happening too and I don’t really understand it… I am not super fond of it either I gotta say. It’s very Passions level campy.

Classic Days episodes are discussed within the thread titled
"DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos"

It's understandably confusing because the thread titles have various names, but
these threads *all* include *both* classic episodes AND old articles.
(With the exception of BTG that is too new to have classics yet, but hopefully someday).

Speaking of bad acting, but when Amy slapped Johnny, what awful acting by Carson Boatman. He has not improved one bit.
