Timon is one of the stand out male actors on the show, hopefully he gets some recognition during next year’s award season.

I wonder if and when we do get the entire flashback of what happened with Martin, will they have the same actor playing Kenny since the show is making it a point to highlight the fact that he’s had plastic surgery?

Loving Allison/Chelsea/Madison, we rarely see such a story given attention on daytime like this.

I've watched nearly every episode of BTG, and I know they have done a little location shooting for exterior scenes.  Tonight I started wondering -- has BTG shot any "exterior" scenes on the sound-stage with a fake exterior set??  Hmm... aside from a couple of front porch scenes, I don't remember any.

Some posters have complained that the show has only three "public space" sets -- Orphie Jean's, Uptown, and the Country Club.  Perhaps the original plan was to do a little more location shooting to add other public spaces to the show.  But since the location shooting seems to have been curtailed, maybe BTG should add a public park set within the studio.  A park set would give us an additional public space, where any characters could interact.   Those are just my thoughts.

I do not want to see fake exterior sets.

Based on wk1 I assumed exterior shooting would be integrated into the show.

I think this is a problem in that launching a new soap in 2025 a lot of new, younger viewers might have been turned off to see everything set inside, as this would not be something they expected when every other drama they watch uses exteriors.

I thought shooting at that facility allowed for that but for whatever reason we are not seeing it.

The scenes in Wk 1 appeared to have been taped outside the studio in the same area and looked good. Surely with the type of cameras and production techniques available these days it would be fairly easy to take a few actors and crew outside.

They could set up some tables and chairs and maybe a fake counter to simulate an outdoor cafe. Hopefully this is something that will be addressed.

Agree with all of this.Even a couple exterior shots a week would open up the entire show. Those week one exterior shots were very nicely done, yet didn't look like they'd be that time consuming or costly.

I co-sign all the comments about exteriors. That was my one big hope and it didn't end up happening which I find so disappointing, especially with the studio they're in. I think it would be helpful to lure in younger viewers and also it just opens a show up.

I hate that we're in the middle of summer and they haven't even given us a studio outdoor set. The is typically the time you get the cast in more casual clothes yet it's business as usual here. You mean to tell me they can't throw together an outdoor set for the country club?

Now Martin's secret is some multi-level conspiracy, involving nearly all the male cast? Oy vey. But hey, points for the unexpected.

You want everything and a bag of chips.

Well, weather in Georgia (where they film) versus weather in the DMV area (where serial is set) are two different weathers. And I can guarantee if they did fake snow outside, people would've hated it.

The weather in Atlanta is really not that different from DC where they'd have to do anything like that to make it look more realistic. It's colder in DC but it does snow in Atlanta. I think the exteriors they did in week one fit perfectly and didn't read like it was the wrong location.

I'm looking forward to that!

Same. Thinking she was going to swing attitude Dani's way. She really has no idea beyond Naomi's stories. It's a whooooole other ballgame when SHE's the target.

That doesn't work for me as an excuse for not having outdoor scenes. This is a show that had huge flowering bushes outside the windows of different sets in week one.

Exactly.

Speaking of sets, how did Ashley get a better set than Naomi and Jacob?

While I agree Naomi and Jacob deserve more than a bedroom, I don't think Ashley's set is all that great.

I still can't believe that tiny bed that we're supposed to think Ashley slept in with Derek, nor can I believe it's up on that platform. It looks like a hospital bill waiting to happen.

This is an ongoing issue for me.

Martin, the dynamic congressman who is never working.

Naomi the idealistic lawyer w/o an office or co workers

Vanessa spoke about her team of realtors but no workspace etc

And so on...

And in the meantime: Nicole has 2 offices, Ted has one office at the hospital yet the job he always talks about is at the 'clinic'. Make it make sense.

This is the first episode I dont like Nicole. How was Ted supposed to tell you when you wont even talk to him? She is being a sanctimonious and Im glad he's calling her out

I love they're giving her layers. And yes that also means being hypocritical or judgemental at times.

Hayley faking a pregnancy makes zero sense to me. I wond where the writers are going with this bc Im no getting her motivatiion

Same. Been saying that from day 1, re: Dani's accusations.
But MVJ likes to reassure us she has a plan, so...

Boring Basic Ashley [...] can be Eric's personal nurse that helps him with his erectile dysfunction for all I care. JUST get her off from BTG.

ROTFL!

BTW Chelsea and Madison are the new Derek and Ashley. They're equally boring.

This ordeal with Kenneth makes me wonder: will BTG be a constant turnaround of villains threatening the Duprees clan? In 4 months we've had Hayley, Leslie, now Kenneth and possibly Madison/Alison...

Oh absolutely. Ashley's set isn't the best, but at least she doesn't need to be in bed to have a conversation in her home.

I thought it was a good week. It's a great sign that the writers have a great story with the A story of Martin's Secret, and it continued to give good structure to the whole week. And we were given a piece a day. And now it's converging into other stories with the reveal of Joey, Jacob's dad, etc. being involved. The cherry on top has been how Smitty's going back to work, getting an assignment that ties him to the Crooked Cop storyline, is slowly leading him right to his husband's secret. Sorry...that's juicy and of course soapy. Bonus...seeing the other side of Vernon that's been hinted at a few times since the show began. Surely if Anita can be cold and ruthless, but lovely, there was also a side of Vernon that was similar. And I find this Papa Pope side of him fascinating to watch and Clifton is giving a masterclass in the subtleties he brings to this other side.

So...it was a brother to Mr. Mystery Guy. Ooooo I KNEW IT!!! But that does not make it any less racist how he comes across in scenes with Martin. And the potential for fallout continue to be good. From the fact that Anita does not know to the realization that Jacob saw his idolized father might be to the aforementioned Smitty/Martin connection. Hooked and can't wait for more.

The highlight was Ted vs Nicole. I thought those scenes were so good. The dialogue was crisp. Cuz Ted saying that line about Nicole's clothes and how she put them on and how he used to take them off...WOOF. I thought Keith did great and DD is always excellent as Nicole with the layers she brings to her performance. The one thing that has been lacking for me during the SilkPress storyline has been the fact that Nicole's POV has oddly been missing in the fallout...which has been good fallout for the most part because I have felt they are exploring all the beats...whether it is too slow or not. Still...Nicole's POV should have been coming back up sooner than now so I have liked that it's been having more of a presence over the past week.

Vanessa, Vanessa, Vanessa. Falling more and more into Joey's world. And you know that for sure judging from her walking into that backroom and see Jacob's father and Marcel. I do wonder how that will come back into the storyline at some point.

Big fan of Timmon/Bill but that line 'Do you know what they call me? They call me the fixer.', had me cringing.

Of all days for Bill to be in a light suit-took away from the sinister feel.

And where is the cane? He had it for like one episode and they made a point of referencing it, Bill even saying he enjoyed using it and would like  custom one made. Now he seems to be moving normally a day later.

And I'm tired of Jacob and Kat meeting at Orphey's to debrief.

If they're going to have characters at venues a lot, they need at least one more, especially as only certain characters can be at the Country club.
