Someone upthread, guessed that Ted was the plastic surgeon who operated on the the racist busboy Kenneth.  Which is why Ted recognized him immediately, but Martin and Vernon knew him only by voice.
Watching live today - based on a few minutes ago, that seems right.  We'll see.

It’s time to recast or write out Tomas. This guy cannot act or string together a believable sentence.

It’s been long established that Bill is a serial cheater. Why does Haley think she can tame that, and why does Dani want to keep putting up with a man that was never loyal to her in the first place?

date: Tuesday, June 24 | Teresa Zimmerman, Danielle Paige | Michael V. Pomarico

  • Katherine is still gunning for Eva, and it's refreshing to see that Ted is defending/uplifting her. That's how you do it.
  • Bill showed up at Dani's place? Hmm... he wants to be around his former/future wife, and that's where he belongs. Not with the child bride.
  • Vernon just showing up at Bill's law firm is amazing; he's controling how things work, and I am sure it's going to lead to some things going down.
  • Bill apologising to Dani? Hell hath frozen over!
  • Katherine, keep your mouth shut! You're becoming lazy; less is always more.
  • So Tomas AND Elon are at Bill's offices? Well, this is about to get very, very interesting.
  • Deadbeat, now would be the time to talk to your HUSBAND about what is going on, because you're only setting him up to be hurt beyond your wildest of dense imaginations. Sorry, but Bradley deserves a better Husband than Deadbeat, and the teens deserve a better father.
  • So Bill truly believes he won't be reuniting with Dani (yeah, right), but I appreciate that they're both having this honest conversation.
  • So Ted recognises Kenny, too? This White man got everyone up in their pantyliners.
  • So, are Elon, Joey, and Marcel working with Bill and Vernon, or are they connected to Kenny and that side of the problem? I'm so confused.
  • Tomas, you better keep your eyes on your table, sir. I want to believe the good in you. Don't make me second-guess.
  • So Bradley knows something and it was a political event for Vernon? Homeboy is too smart for his own good.
  • Deadbeat, now is not the time to walk into the office. Whew... it's about to blow up. Calling it.
  • Katherine inching this close to saying she loves Tomas... whew!
  • Bradley, baby, please.
  • "Did I hurt the imaginary fetus?" Dani is so extra and in the best ways. Haha.

Notes:

  • Was it "Ariana Grande" lookalike week at Assembly Studios? At least Marquita Goings (Hayley) rocks the hairstyle better than Cady McClain (Pamela).
  • I appreciate that the secret concerning Deadbeat continues to turn right when the dots start to connect. This is a brilliant umbrella storyline that's got plenty of legs.

I think he's gotten much better compared to when the show first started.

I agree. Others, on the other hand....

Does anybody think the writers will try to turn the cane into a character prop for Bill?

I would not hate it.

I enjoyed Bill's and Dani's very adult conversation today. I really can't wait to find out what "The Legion of Doom" are working so hard to cover up on Martin's behalf. And why do I get the feeling that one of the innocents, either Smitty or Jacob, are going to get hurt. You know that soap staple with these kinds of storylines of getting too close to the truth.

I agree. He was SUPER stiff when he started, but he's improved immensely...and he is quite the piece of eye candy. Just the booty alone. :)

Yes, I know the actor is older than him...but Ted still looks like he could be Martin's younger brother. I think NuTed is the better actor, but I'm not quite sure he's physically is right for the role. He looks soooo young! I mean, good for the actor.

It is nice seeing all of these various characters and subplots connecting with Martin's secret.

This mess happened 2 years ago, Martin was a hot mess and Smitty just let it go and never brought it up again? He's a bad husband. How do you not inquire more?

That's how I'm feeling now too, after seeing that flashback. How do you just let something weird like that go without pushing for more information...

I've been thinking this too. And I've been wondering how long it was going to take to bring Ted's work as a plastic surgeon into a plot.  Now's the time.

So is it possible that Elon and the other crooked cop (sorry forget his name), and Joey are not bad guys at all?  And this plot is going to exonerate all three of them?  Or are they still bad guys, that Vernon just pulled into the mess to help protect Martin?

And why did Kenny need plastic surgery?  Did Martin beat him so badly his face was destroyed?  And didn't Kenny mention something about having a brother with him that night??

Joey is definitely a bad guy. He's all but admitted to being a criminal to Vanessa and Doug. He's laundering money which is illegal and has threatened Doug's life. Elon and Marcel may be exonerated but Joey still is dirty

Both Dani and Haley lack self worth

Did the audience always know that Kat had been Ted's office manager, or was this pulled out of a hat a week or so ago?

And as much as I love Eva, with so little management experience, it is a bit of a stretch for her to suddenly become the office manager for a well known big-city plastic surgeon. Eva has made her living as a successful hair-dresser, and then worked in Nicole's office as a sub for maybe two-months. It would have been more believable for Ted to hire Eva in a lower-level office position, and then promote her to office manager in a few months.  And don't nobody tell me, "it's just a soap."

It's actually been mentioned a few times since the start, so not completely just pulled from thin air. Obviously, there isn't a set where we could see that play out, but there have been conversations about it.

The thing with Eva is that Ted isn't even trying to start her small. He is literally dumping everything on her. I would assume he would have other office workers/receptionists take up some extra duties in the meantime while Eva settled in considering she has no experience...yet yesterday he was talking a mile a.minute and then at the end was like oh and you'll be the go between for the contractors or whatever it was...I was like excuse me?
